Citizen needs, and deserves, a better design department.
Yes it does! That last one is 😮. I've got several JDMs which I love.
Yes, I so want them to move into the gap seiko has left by moving upmarket and not delivering on QC. Challenge Diver and Tsuyosa are steps in the right direction, they have the potential to crush the affordable diver space in both solar and auto.
Especially since microbrands are innovating and keeping strong design aesthetics, like Henry Archer, Jack Mason, VAER, etc...
There are so many fantastic designs, some of their best, that are JDM only, it’s time to get them out into the world!
Citizen should come up with a 36-37 mm version of the Tsuyosa to really complete the range
Citizen has been killing it lately. I just picked up a ProMaster Fugu and love it. As Seikos have gotten more expensive, they’ve stepped into the void.

The gentlemen said that there has never been a bracelet for the Citizen Promaster quartz… but I have purchased the black dial version on a steel bracelet before… am I missing something?

Citizen killing it these days - Having a tough time deciding between the new CITIZEN BN0165-55L PROMASTER (ice blue) and the grey one. Great video as always.
The old NY0040/NY0100 etc. are still one of the best designs, right proportions and still not available in the USA. I like those better than the Fugu. Better case, lug-to-lug, indices.
I thought the NY0040 was the fugu and the NY100 is the new one which is bigger in case size, no?
@@cuestion-de-tiempo no. NY 0040 NY0085 NY 0100 ny0140 are not fugus.. they are sold on the European market. They wear nicer in my opinion

I’m a big fan of Citizen. I love my Attesa, Fugu and all my super Titaniums!❤ I have a 22 year old eco-drive Paradigm BM0194-53L that is still running as well as the first day I bought it. No service or capacitor change yet. 🎉

Finally a new diver in this handy size 8:30 and look at the dial on the Tsuno, much better proportions on this dial, compared to the standard version 10:55 ♥

Citizen is my favorite watch brand. In terms of rugged, accurate, overbuilt tool watches… Try to beat an Eco-Drive Promaster Diver.
Finally Citizen is filling some of their potential. Always had such a opportunity to create good looking well made interesting pieces at a good price point. I own a couple and they are fantastic watches for the $$
I’m waiting for the 40mm promaster diver. I had 2 44mm and while I could pull it off I always wished it was available as a 40mm. I would buy it in a heartbeat! I currently have the ny0040 on a aftermarket jubilee, and at 41.5 it wears great but 40mm would be perfect in my opinion especially as an eco-drive.

So no 40mm in the future for the pro master? 37mm seems too small and 44mm seems too big.
If you actually take it into the water, 44 with that thick bezel is really small.

Great channel and super informative intv/showcase about "New Citizen Releases" but wow---call me old fashioned but that modern design for the Promaster Tsuno Chrono Racer 50th Anniversary Edition looks like the bowel movement of a Transformer. Over designed and trying to please too many cooks in the "racetrack.” Just my opinion. Great releases overall by Citizen. Thank you for your content.
Even the UA-cam ads for the Promaster Tsuno Chrono Racer 50th Anniversary Edition watch use the 1970s original version as a thumbnail and then begins the ad/commercial with the sleek almost timeless original 1970s chrono design followed by a jarring jump cut to the expensive "modern" looking new one. (GULP!) I keep asking myself if the marketing lures you in with the 1970s original one--why don't they reissue the original chrono with the original movement especially after the Citizen Record Label Tsuno Chrono failure? So many missed opportunities.

I'd love to see Citizen moving more into the mechanical watch world, they have great designs that could be offered at least on both movements and not only in Eco-Drive which is a great technology and allows them to offer utilitarian watches at lower prices, but also keeps them in the "cheap watch category" when they have the potential to do so much more... I'd love an orca but the eco drive movement is a deal breaker simply because I am going to put it in the water, electricity and water is a big no no... on the other hand a chrono in eco drive or a perpertual calendar that would be fantastic.. I think they can start filling the void that Seiko is leaving behind as they now are raising prices without raising the quality.

What’s wrong with smaller promasters? 😂
The problem with small divers is that people cry that they want them because they think they will wear like a 37 mm dress watch. Then they see it and realize that the bezel takes up so much of that 37 mm (particularly on the Promaster -- very thick bezel), that you are left with a tiny, cramped dial, and they no longer want the watch. For the Promaster line Citizen should go the opposite direction and make the watch much bigger to truly make it a super legible in the water tool watch.

There's a big difference in professional appearance between the Swiss watch HQ folks and...well, Citizen. Sorry, but it's true.
