Extra Materials:
1 yard Red fabric for the bows
1 foam sheet for the Tiara
1 heart magnet from Walmart
Spray Paint - Krylon Red Glossy and White Glossy (I forgot to mention that if you spray paint the boots, they will chip. But it does the job for a costume.)
Stuffing
White Shoulder Pads from Joanns
White gloves from Savers
Velcro - for the back bow, and necklace

THIS IS SO MUCH EASIER THAN EVERYONE ALWAYS WANTS TO MAKE IT! The bow method and the shoulder pads are genius.
My only problem is that the blue and red fabrics looked VERY cheap and costumey, not really professional fabrics. It makes it look like less effort was put into it, and we can see that you actually did put a lot of effort in.
There is a type of spray paint made for leather that won't crack...it's called Meltonian Nu-life color spray and it comes in a ton of different colors. It works great, too.

Happy 10th episode of Thrifted Transformations! I got so many requests to do a Sailor Moon costume, so challenge accepted! What Thrifted Transformations do you want to see next? Please let me know :) ALSO I FORGOT TO MENTION in the video that after you spray paint the boots, some of the color will chip off but I think its totally fine for a costume. For long term wear, Angelus Leather Paint is amazing, it molds to the leather and moves with it.
By far the best Sailor Moon Costume on YT. And omg, the collar is srsly the hardest part for me. xD

The shoulder pads were the best shortcut! Usually I see other people make them and stuff them like the other stuffed pieces.

ahh the trick with using shoulder pads for the sleeves is brilliant! I made my own Sailor Mars cosplay about two years ago; I wish I had thought of that back then because the sleeves were the hardest part to make!
Haha i know right! Originally i was going to sew the shoulder pads inside sleeves, but then realized that it'll be so much easier to use them as the actual sleeves! xD So happy i realized that because the sleeves would've been really complicated for me as well!

This costume came out amazing! I see a lot of items at the thrift store that I think about transforming or even just altering but I pass them by because I already have a big pile at home that I haven't touched yet. I'm glad there are people out there doing it. :)
Oh wow, totally amazing!! I've wanted to dress up as Sailor Moon (or Jupiter, since she's my favorite) since I was a kid, but haven't gotten the opprtunity to do so yet. I appreciate your attention to detail and accuracy. Some people forget the puffy sleeves and the v-shaped material around her waist. Great work!!

One other alternative to the spray paint is to use Design Master Floral Spray Paint. A friend recommended it to me a few years ago for a cosplay and it works super well and doesn't chip or crack! c:

This was so cool! I cosplay, and I try to find "bases" for them to add onto. Sailor Jupitor is on my list, but I had been having issues with the body suit, collar, and sleeves. I thankfully know how to do a skirt. This was insanely helpful!
