- Last year I received this great instrument from DEAN GUITARS!
I was so busy working and touring that I hadn't had a chance to edit this video that was taken in early summer of 2022 before I did a European tour with GWAR.
I never have great expectations with import models but this one was a pleasant surprise for sure. It exceeded what I anticipated by far and I was proud to jam this guitar all over the world. The fretwork was nice, nice and smooth with no sharp edges. Weight and feel are nice. Very unique V shaped neck profile that's fun to play. Poly finish is nice and glossy, not sticky and has a great shine to it.
Mahogany body and neck
Cream binding
Poly Finish
Made in India
24.75" scale
Rosewood Fretboard
Transcherry Finish
I did a few extra modifications on mine but these are dependable and very playable guitars for a killer price.
Thank you to the Dean Guitars team for their support.
This is an honest review, if I didn't like the guitar I wouldn't have toured with it! I am a Dean Artist but they have not asked for or paid for this video to be made.
Glad to hear that dean won this time and both V and Z are probably back in the market soon
i came to see a review on the guitar. Not only did i get that but got to hear this man shred. Win in my book🤘
Impeccable taste as always, dude. Those rings and pickups make that top pop. Us VA boys got class lol
Getting mine soon very excited
It's great seeing someone who mods/works on their own guitar and just not sending it off for a service/upgrade.
Not just guitars, anything your into.
Another banger of a video. Love how concise, informative, and entertaining all your videos are Brent. Keep up the good shit!
P.S. - Did you ever try the Super 2 in the neck? I feel like it's DiMarzio's best humbucker for that.
I had a Super 2 and 3 that I tried in a couple guitars. I couldn't get along with the guitar so I never got a good sense of how they sounded. I still have them
things so sick man!!
I've been gassing for one of these 79 Vs for a long time, but there's always been another guitar I find first.
I have the same minus the Floyd and your pickups of choice. I NEED that fiddle. Hope you enjoyed the hell out of it.
Nice guitar! been wanting to check out their super strat they have. I like that bass cut mod, I'll have to try that. I put the TBX tone control on an old Strat I have and its pretty rad, sort of a tilt control.
The MD24's are legit. I was able to try a few out in a store on a tour a while back. I really like them a lot. They are 25.5" scale and I thought about asking them to make me a 24.75" conversion neck. The stock ones play great!
I have one of the new made in india Dean 79 series Cadillac and it's awesome !
I have a V79 that is a wonderful axe, only thing that I'd change is I'd like a locking trem. Kinda like you've got there...
I “General Lee” find the Dean headstock a bit gaudy.😉
Per the Lawsuit, Can you get the V and Z’s right now? Been looking for the 79 series and not seeing them. Is there a good dealer out there with a decent website?
What is the ideal string height from the fret to get those dive bomb? And what gauge is yours?
What song are you talking about at 5:50 ? I tried looking up this aluminizer but couldn't find anything
😂 very nice. It’s ur standard box with a case inside🤣 That’s a sick V dood!
I'm buying a Dean ML soon but for now I'm settling with my current ML it's not a Dean ML it's a kit ML
Dean moved factory to India for cheaper labor costs,,most of my guitars are made in Japan or the states..
To me on a 25.5 24.75 that's the lowest I'll go is C standard on a 6 so I got great intonation and nice and low cause i don't go over 62-13 are 58-12 for C sharp. What's the lowest you like to go on a 25.5.
I'm not sure. I used to use a pair of ML's tuned to drop B for a band I toured with for a few years. They were 24.75" and I think it was 52's or 54's I used. I can't remember. Most of my guitars now are only a half step down.
Fucking Aye
