Brilliant series of videos. Many thanks for the time and effort to make them and upload them! You've given me the skills now to service my own defender rather than paying an arm and a leg to get someone else to do it for me. Cheers.
Just wanted to say how great these videos are, they given me a lot of skills and new found confidence in tackling more complex tasks on my Defender. You are a great teacher!
I would fill the new filter with Liqui Moly Diesel purge. I use it on my VW when attaching new fuel filters. Stuff does a great job at cleaning the injectors.
Excellent videos mate!!! Recently I have encountered a mechanic and he told me to add some motor oil in the filter to CLEAN the injectors on my 300TDI. I thought it was silly. So why would anyone do that? What do you guys think about this trick?
On the 2.4 Puma Defenders can you do the same trick priming the filter with fuel? Or whats the recommended way of doing this to ensure all the air is bled out?
Take the advice about oiling the seals. Just replaced my filter today, took me 2 hours to get it off and I ended up having to remove the entire bracket and bolting it to my fence so I could get better leverage on the filter. Took me 3 hours all together, got 2 massive cuts on my forehead and broke a fuel line. Oil ya fuckin' seals.

Thank you. Top video - just done this on my Discovery 1 300tdi. Much appreciated.
I still have to as well. As soon as I sort out the smoking problem.
Didn't know about the water drain. Doing a filter change tomorrow anyhow. Nice one. And I'll prime it

Don't like this because the filter is already loosened off, so no information about removing it and showing on a 300tdi
