Great video. Very informative and constructive. I find that some woodturners have a different opinion for the use of a gauge in bowl turning. Their view is that it’s mainly for turning spindles. I find personally that gauges don’t leave a fine finish as a (arc shaped ) skewer does. Different school of thought I thing but I do believe that the gauge take a lot more wood and faster than the skewer. Thank you so much for your course. I hope to learn more from you in the near future.

I understand that the bowl was still somewhat wet , why would you not use CA light glue to try to save the bowl?

Loved the video great work. My question what type of bowl gouges other than Robert Sorby do you use? And do you use the wolverine sharpening system?

i understand that a standing wood turner has to move with the tool as it cuts. can you give advice to s wheelchair bound turner that can't move like that? it feels like the wood is fighting me with every cut.

Seems like you would need to build a chair on a lever arm or something that would swing around the end of the lathe but be able to lock it in place with a hand or arm controlled lever, it would not be seem less transition but with a bit of practice someone could get very good at moving around the end of the lathe quite well I would suppose, obviously this is conjecture because the thing only exists in my mind so it's use is unknown. Maybe turning in stages and moving the chair and then working until you move and then move as you need to. It would slow down the process a bit but you'd be turning better. The fact that your turning from a wheelchair tells me you'll have no problem figuring something out because you've already jumped the highest hurdle which was starting. Best wishes and good fortune in your endeavor
