The original version of this video is scheduled for removal as TOEI have claimed against a small segment and also rejected the dispute. I have contacted UA-cam Partner Support and also filed a legal appeal. I'm hoping this re-upload won't be required as a permanent solution.

I must say, I’m a little sad he didn’t mention my favorite tongue-in-cheek joke/Easter egg for legacy ranger fans: Tommy after officially becoming the Black Ranger mentioning he has to go shopping, since he doesn’t have much black in his closet. Presumably because it’s filled with green, white and red since rangers tend to dress in their ranger colors when unmorphed in the series. Thought it was cool they finally called it out. Great trip down history road here. Thanks Matt.
But his actor, died in December of 2022! He's dead
I also think (correct me if I’m wrong) he only wears red white and green before becoming a ranger, when in that episode he gets to wear other colors

@@ConkSMASH I checked back, there is one episode where he wears a grayish white but it’s arguably still white, and he wear brown red and beige on his flannel in the episode he morphs in along with the flannel staple of black boxes in the pattern
That episode where the dino rangers actually watch an episode of abareranger got me into watching tokusatsu in general. I'll never forget it
honestly, that's probably the best episode of Power Rangers, especially when the episode ends on the abaranger theme. Weird how only the Disney seasons pay respect to the source.
@@trashboat5388because Disney ironically seems to like Sentai more as a strange way of recreating some of the storytelling methods in classic Disney but in live action, power rangers is more… not superficial but less pointed with the themes it presents on the large scale
The guy playing Connor was one of many reuses of actors in this era, he had a brief appearance in Ninja Storm which the does actually referrence by mentioning a cousin in the Wind Ninja Academy

In regards to the "why would they still wear their bracelets?". I am a 37 year old father of 3. If I had ever in my life been a power ranger and had lost my power, I would still wear my Morpher at all time as a source of pride for myself.
10/10 would never get rid of mine unless I absolutely had to.

They do explain why Zeltrax doesn't make an army of White Rangers.
The Clone starts dying because there can't be two identical powers in the Morphing Grid. So an army of clones would suffer from the same fate but even faster as the Grid can't handle so many at once
This is on point. They even bring it up in the old west episode of mmpr with why there can't be 2 MM Pink rangers

The evil zord's footage is from Abaranger summer movie, so that's why it has a physical suit
And it did get a US release as.the blizzard megazord. There was an all green one too. It was a jungle theme I think

I'd like to believe the reason why Tommy made the pterodactyl the symbol of the Yellow ranger this time instead of a pink is because he physically can't accept that someone else other than Kat/Kimberley would be that ranger out of sheer heartbreak
That and Dino Thunder didn't really had an pink ranger per say just an unofficial one in the sentai. Even if they create one it would had to be original footage.
Dino Thunder was one of my favorite seasons, and since I found out about Super Sentai at that time I made it my first. I remember being surprised that Tommy was coming back since I didn't saw any previews and only read the summery from one of the toys.
Speaking of which, some of the seasons with multiple zords at the time like DT and WF did not have ALL the zords come to America.

There’s one thing about Dino thunder that you failed to mention. Most likely because he didn’t know or something.
Originally Austin St. John’s character was supposed to come back and be the black Dino thunder Ranger but they went against it and chose JDF
So many things that should’ve happened would’ve justified the very things about Dino Thunder I take issue with, getting Austin St. John/Jason would’ve been one of them.

@@Knightfall-Batman well, Tommy was adopted and so was Trent, so that pretty much keeps leaving Trent for evil on grounds that he was too powerful for them to get close to from being justified or maybe, Jason could’ve hammered home to Conner that Trent needs their help as opposed to just a butt whoopin’ because honestly, if you’re going to justify your feelings of betrayal when a crucial piece of information was withheld (it does not matter how crucial that bit of information is), you gotta earn your reformed enemy’s loyalty, come on.
Yes, a Team has no secrets, but they also don’t leave any one for dead, let alone evil.

Only because we lived through it and constantly got reminded of it. SPD Rangers were not even alive in 2005.
It's a shame this wasn't a season where more veteran rangers showed up. The technology could have been stated to come from Billy. Even have Hailey be a relative or friend of Billy (at least giving some respect to the character since David Yost wouldn't have come back at that point).
Devin and Cassidy would have been good fourth and fifth rangers, and I think had the source material had the original team being five rangers instead of three it would have been that way.
Also considering how they ship Tommy and Kat, I guess they were on a break?
Had Tommy not been given the Black Ranger powers, it would have been good to see him use his older powers once again, maybe even create a ranger which was an amalgamation of his Green, White, and Red powers. I know what would require bespoke footage to be made, but it would still be cool.
I’m glad it’s not the other one. I’m glad Disney didn’t combine the personalities of two characters with the same name. That would’ve been weird, and given the Replicantzord a very interesting, if not weird, origin.
Always love seeing your insight on power rangers series. The little nuance parts and jokes that I missed when I was younger always make me laugh now. Very well done

Dino Thunder and Ninja Storm are top tier seasons, Wild Force is up there too. Change my mind. Wish we saw more of the original MMPR gang in Dino Thunder, like Kimberly, Billy, Zach, and Adam etc. They couldve cut some filler eps for those moments.
I guess one thing I didnt connect until I noticed in Digimon, but they don't have a word for Dinosaur in Japan. I mean they do but call them "Dragons" in writing and Kanji. Actually adds layers to Tommy's and Jasons rivalry in MMPR, and Yuta and Burai respectively in Zyuranger
Yeh its "korairyu" if i remember correctly or "ancient dragon" for a dinosaur. Otherwise they just use katakana and an approximation of the english word aka "engrish" for them
I’ve said this once before on the original Version of this video and I will say it again: one thing I find most problematic about Dino Thunder as a spiritual successor to mighty Morphin is that some of the most important beats weren’t hit and yet the story treats itself like they were (if this version ends up being the version that gets to stay on UA-cam, I can further elaborate on what I mean), when it got to SPD and the SPD Rangers were jerks to Dino Thunder, I didn’t believe for a second that he didn’t want them to get into any more trouble, two of the SPD rangers were orphans and they did not like that a fellow orphan was being mistreated even for deception.
When I had my dad watch this season back when it was still on Netflix and he got to the episode Lost and Found in Translation, he claimed Power Rangers improved on its own Sentai counterpart.
imma let this play on repeat to make up for the potentially lost revenue.

Linkara usually explained the jump in technology as Earth's scientists reverse engineering the remnants of destroyed zords. I wouldn't figure on that kind of tech being widely available as early as Lost Galaxy.

Re-watching this after your newest Zyuranger/MMPR video, I am now under the impression that Zordon was named after the Zords rather than vice versa. Obviously retroactively but it makes sense in my head
I always assumed with the SPD/Dino crossover that the three dino rangers had left earth for other planets. Possibly just so that they couldn't meet their younger selves. As i'm sure in an episode of one series someone said that the powers couldn't work if there was two of the same rangers in the same time frame. So the Dino rangers left earth for a bit.

with lost galaxy, like to think alot of the left over tech from the villains/rangers from the final battle was used to advance tech enough to make stuff like terra venture
the irony of sentai purists complaining that dino thunder episode is making fun of abaranger is that the only thing power rangers is mocking are those fans.
abaranger is being used as a metaphor for power rangers to make meta commentary on different tokusatsu fans, with connor being essentially a sentai fan, initially hating the show on principle because "what do they know about power rangers" before eventually appreciating it for what it is.
Obviously Zordon and Alpha recorded that footage of Tommy that the characters see in the show.
I somehow had a feeling TOEI would send their assassins, hope the issue gets resolved!
TOEI is the worst, they have actually taken down Zyu2 videos that dub over the footage with Power Rangers sound effects and music. And if you know what Zyu2 is, it's not like you can even watch it by seeing Zyuranger seeing as it was the footage that was shot by them exclusively for Power Rangers (and some of which finally surfaced unedited on the Internet many years after the show originally aired).
I remember this season being especially toy line focused

34:48 tech is weird in pr like not only the lost galexy and dino thunder stuff but then in ninja steel one rangers tools around on a ful function hover board and its treated as normal while the redranger has a smart watch which is also taken as normal by civies. not to mention SPED is 2025 and aliens are treated as normal if discriminated against while the 2021-22 dino fury has the 2 alien rangreers going undercover

I understand why they didn’t remember the Dino rangers if I got paid 25 cents for every time giant monsters attacked humanity in power rangers in would be a millionaire at this point so many monsters have attacked and there have been so many power rangers that it is hard to keep track on which rangers are which

In Yu-Gi-Oh world manga and anime, they use VHS tapes and holographic tech from duel box---- I mean, Duel Arenas and a year later I guess we have Dark Side of Dimensions tech, the movie happens some months after the end of the manga

Who is gonna tell him most of the CG is sentai original.i like the video dont get me wrong but it just comes off as criticism to the PR show like they made it when it was sentai footage and its kind of unclear if you're aware of it.
And the blue and green and white evil megazord from the end is also sentai original. Its Bakuren-Oh and was used by a villain in an Abarenger movie.

Like I said it just felt a bit unclear whether you were critiquing the cgi as a whole for both shows or not is all when you were covering it here. I know you covered bakuren-Oh in part 2, though. Maybe the split between the versions for this series was kinda throwing me off? cuz usually i can tell when you're criticizing one show or both in the others.

my headcanon for lost galaxy is that its time dilation. the colony was very advanced and left earth years ago. but is in the near distant future due to time being different for objects travelimg in space. we only hear that they are 14 light years away from earth so they cant get back and unknown to them is how long earth has moved on without them thus placing them in earths future because of reletivity (tommys summery of lost galaxy not making sense tho but i chock that up as just for the audience)
See the thing is with pr is that if there's no fighting they'll skip the episode saban thinks kids be stupid but he also forgets that we grown up fans also watches super sentai so we should know what'll happen but it's all about toys an sales no risk or good story at least one ep without fighting be nice this why you can't just cut a 50 so series to 33 or 22/22 seasons
Yes its a huge problem that plagued Megaforce and Super Megaforce. Some of the episodes would contain 2-3 episodes worth of the Sentai's plot and monsters making it feel rushed. Instead of having character growth episodes they just burnt through as much footage as they could. Not to mention all the appearances of the Sentai only rangers with no explanations on how the power rangers obtained these "legendary" forms. I know it would have been harder to do guest appearances by past rangers for Super Megaforce, but they should have had more character growth episodes instead of just having episodes of endless fight footage. Disney's seasons are very hit and miss, but they at least have episodes that let the characters grow and we follow their journey into the amazing teams they were meant to be.

to be fair, they got attack by giant earth destroying monster almost every week for decades, it all just got jumble up and i would already forgot or mix up those rangers all together...

Just by the action of time travel changes the future. The oldest example of this is the blue centurion and the millennium message. The next time this happens is with time force and Alex’s death.

Please do Power Rangers RPM next. It is the best season of power rangers.
What i dont like in the spd cross over is that the b squad rangers side line the dino rangers like if their rookies & dont know how to fight.

I didn't know JDF came back after Turbo. I didn't keep up after that but that's like kewl
This was his only regular appearance after Turbo. He only guest starred twice afterwards both of the Neo Saban anniversary season episodes. Though his character did guest starred in Wormhole the 2nd SPD Dino Thunder teamup episode but with Trent's actor voicing him.
Plus Wild Force prior in Forever Red in another guest starring role.
Honestly for a 2004 kids show, the CG isn't bad. I still prefer traditional tokusatsu style effects though.
