JD 6215R - Maize NZ 2022

- Not a John Deere fan....but I did quite like this 215 to be honest. Hall & Wilson were the contractors and this tractor here is the most capable yoke they've got. So kind of them to give it to me 😂 They have 2 6215R's and this one here will go places the other one won't. The other one is Autopower and doesn't have rear wheel weights while this one has the weights and also is direct-drive. I would have been so jaded by maize if I was driving any other tractor in the fleet to be honest. Well.....I still got pretty tired of it but less so....
Anyway....So the video starts off with an uncut run from field to pit, and then a clip of tipping in the opposite pit around 24hrs after the first video. A lot of maize went in on that farm.
Then there's a clip or two of some sheep that some farmers decided to move on just the wrong day, the day we were drawing on the same road. It was a disaster, they held us up for most of the evening. It was quite funny for us, the drivers though 😝 we were on the hour.
Then there's a clip of a bit of an awkward bridge, just to show that there's plenty of tight enough gaps and things over there. That was one thing I didn't expect to encounter so often before I went out.
Then there's a few clips to show the hills in New Zealand and the trucks they have out there. They have way cooler trucks than the ones I showed in the video but I didn't catch them on camera. There's a few clips in there to show the huge bulky crops of maize they can grow out there in that climate but also a section of maize that didn't grow for some reason.
There's a clip of a sprayer-helicopter I spotted while out drawing maize one day too. Fairly common out there especially for land that is too steep to be driven on with tractors to apply fertiliser or sprays. They do flat ground too though because they can cover a lot more ground than a tractor in a day. Their cost per hectare can, at times, be cheaper than a tractor because of how much ground they can cover in one day.
There's a clip of driving at night and tipping off a load. The stack-man says to me something like "It's working Wayne!" and what he was on about was one of the LED worklights on the back of the trailer. On the previous load it wasn't working but it did on this load.
To finish off, there's a video that one of the other members of the Hall & Wilson crew sent to me of myself in the 215 backfilling a load behind the harvester. And then I put up 2 pictures of the 215 just to show a clear picture of it from the outside because a headcam video never shows an outside view.
But that's about it really. As far as I know we did roughly 840 hectares and most of it was knocked out in 4 weeks of organised chaos. Through one harvester 😐 - Авто та транспорт

Well it can't be too bad, I'm back in new zealand at the moment for round 2 of it 😅

Oh there was probably 5 of us? A 6110M, 2 6195M's and two 6215R's. The 6175R I was baling with also draws most days but it was rolling the stack that day. There is trucks hired in for real long draws as well. We had 6 tractors and 5 trucks going one day. Over an hour round trip. Can't remember how far it was in kilometres.
Those fields wet would be keen 😂seems fair dry compared to over here in maize season
I'd like to give a maize season in england a go sometime as well
@@WayneMescal In the smaller fields it's alright as you feel you achieve something but when your in a 40 acre field on an hour round draw it doesn't half drag on

why does the speedo not work?
Don't know. It works on the screen but on the dash it only works once you're over like 15 or 20k I think. Jesus you're sharp enough to spot that 😅
