I’m going to try and be as civil as possible, but your ignorance on the Hockey Canada situation is noticeable. You are correct that they made her say on video that it was consensual, but what you failed to mention was that she was noted to be intoxicated by several people who saw her at the bar. You cannot give consent while drunk, and the pressure from 5 people in the room only delegitimizes any consent even more. This also wasn’t just guys getting carried away with a girl looking for fun. Maybe it initially seemed that way, but in the report, she attempted to leave the room and was intimidated to stay. Yes these players haven’t been found guilty, but that’s where they stand legally in our criminal system. When it comes to the NHL, it is a privilege, not a right. So by the court of law, it is possible that there is not enough evidence for a guilty sentence, but it also doesn’t mean we need to welcome them back in to the NHL. The only way the players will ever even have the slightest chance of making it back into the NHL, is if the victim is found to have made the whole case up. Given that there were multiple investigations, dismissals, and payouts, it’s highly unlikely this is the case here. The best case scenario for the players is they prove they had “consensual sex” which is difficult when the victim was intoxicated. Even if they provide video of her stating consent, that only gives consent for that immediate context. She may have consented to some things, but not all, which is where it crosses into sexual assault. I also think it’s really sad that you described it as a “shame” that the players aren’t playing, and calling the victim “nutty”. Truly think about how that statement would come across to the victims family. They didn’t mess up by filming the video with everyone in the room, they messed up by sexually assaulting a drunk girl. I have zero sympathy for them that they lost their opportunity to play in the NHL. I wanted to give my perspective as a Canadian. This story is still one of the biggest stories in the country, and has been involved with our countries politicians. There is no time period where people will simply forget, at least not in Canada. Apologies for the length of this, just wanted to articulate my thoughts properly.

I believe in you your a big strapping lad with an undeniable passion for the game who has worked non stop , taken surgeries to keep playing to keep the dream alive , I hope you get what you want out of hockey because you definitely worked for it
