The FBI Files is an American docudrama that takes a look behind the scenes of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's crime laboratory.
Real FBI cases are recounted through reenactments and interviews, due to the sensitive nature of the show, viewer discretion is advised.
The Feds got rid of organized crime in Philadelphia. However the plague of disorganized gang violence continues to devastate the community.

I went to law school in Delaware right outside of Philly and the best class I took was organized crime. The prof was the assistant US attorney who prosecuted all of the big Philly mob cases in late 80s and 90s. It was amazing. Personally, I never did any of the reading because you didn’t need to. It was just show up for an hour of mob story time. Like firsthand stuff you’re never gonna see or hear. So great
Omg that is a dream class.
I had a class similar where the teacher set up a crime scene in the classroom. We had to figure out what happened in what order and write a report 😂. It was one of the best classes I've ever had.
That sounds amazing until you realize you prolly paid 1000s of dollars from that class and could have had the same thing if you watch the history channel. College post to be for learning not fun
That's cool! I went to law school in Chicago and took "Money Laundering" and "White Collar Crime." Best classes ever!

@Mark Konzerowsky that's because the genovese family tricked him into killing Bruno so they can get his rackets

I lived through this it actually began Halloween 1987 with a restaurant hit when Scarfo was in power. In 1994 there was a shootout on the Schuylkill during rush hour that was the beginning of the end.
Damn, i was one year old in roxborough
Scarfo was not the one that went after the Docile Don, Angelo Bruno. It was Stanfa a replacement driver that particular night that set him up. It was Antonio Caponigro who ordered the killing of the docile Don, so he could take over being the boss of the Philly mob. It was Philip "The Chicken Man" Testa who eventually took over as boss after Bruno's murder.

These stories are told and glossed over much nicer than the current gang wars.
I bet…
I knew a few “guys” back in the day that were deeply involved in the life. It was clear that they operated in a general sense in a fashion as to NEVER attract any attention to themselves in ANY public situation. If they went out to eat a some high end restaurant, that bill was paid along with an extremely gracious tip. Always making very gracious contributions to local charitable organizations, but never over the top unless it was an obvious connection to them personally for very obvious reasons (like when a relative got cancer and there was a local fundraiser for the family of that relative, etc.). This was to basically firm up local allegiance from even those outside of the criminal activities. It definitely worked. None of those guys ever had any legal hassles to deal with of any significance.
yeah...they were deeply involved in that life and never drew any attention to themselves....except when they were telling you, some guy they knew, about their involvement in that life.... about their legal affairs....about how they acted in public so as to not draw any attention to their crimes....yep, just a few "guys" you "knew" back in the day, living and dying by the code. the omerta. right. you and every other one quarter italian kid in the tri-state area

Chin played the Bruno hit to perfection. Acted like he didn't approve, but really did. Bruno wouldn't let NYC families have part of AC. Once Chin backed Scarfo after Bruno was killed, guess who then got a part of AC? The Genovese family.

So I'm out behind the building tossing bottles in barrels, with a joint in my mouth, when this helicopter lands 15 feet away. No warning. 3 guys get out and it's obvious 1 is a mafia boss, dressed to the nines, and the other 2 bodyguards. Boss comes over and asks my name. Then asks if I'm Italian. Yeah half, Moms name was Sellare. He pats me on the shoulder and says " Good kid" and they go inside. When they leave the managers are all pale and acting weird. Everyone was laid off, management was moving to Philly. Wonder if the made it.

UA-cam... Ugandan ABC's.
Absolutely hilarious
Joey merino is still living his best life
As long as no innocent people are hurt, who cares how many criminals kill eachother. The more the better.
Smart college student. Get us gov to pay his debt. He also probably got paid to inform.

Scarfo wasn’t behind bruno’s hit
Actually $120/week for 10 weeks for a defaulted $1000 loan is a pretty damn good deal - especially for a mob loan shark.
I’d feel bad setting him up for it!!
I don’t think Scarfo was behind the Angelo Bruno hit.
Scarfo knew the hit was probably going to happen, and he certainly wasn't going to tip Bruno off, but he wasn't in on planning or participating in it.
@@nagone11
It was Tony bananas that was in on the hit on Bruno with the Genovese family with Vincent the Chin Gigante was the Boss of the Genovese family. And those sneaky guys in the Genovese family gave Tony bananas the okay to kill Bruno and then they killed Tony bananas!
You're right it wasn't Nicky Scarfo behind the Bruno hit. It was Tony bananas.
@@phillyguy2157 If you read Mafia Prince like I did..Leonetti outlines what happened pretty well as laid out to him by Scarfo. He said The Genovese were treacherous and The Chin, the sharpest of them all.
@@nagone11
Yes the Genovese family were tricky because they tricked Tony bananas. One leader in the Genovese family gives Tony bananas the okay to kill Bruno and then calls him up to New York and then the Chin kills gives the okay to kill Tony bananas.
I read a few books by George Anastasia about the Philly Mob (at least 15 years ago).
They were pretty good but I was always more interested by New York.
It was Chin Gigante who made Nicky Scarfo the boss of Philly.
Someone tell me how to take my self from fbi files am too addicted 😭😭😭😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣
Unbelievable Philadelphia USA 🇺🇲❤️
Best episode. 👌
The mob brings in an expert to detect bugs in the office. The so-called expert finds nothing.
Imagine if the mob knew there was a bug -- that 'expert' would have a little bit of a problem when he presented his bill.
I'm more concerned about the fact they were able to get a warrant to bug both the conference room and the lawyers private office
Why wouldn't they get a warrant to place the bugs when they have probable cause for it?
Plot twist, the expert was from another mafia fam and found the bugs, but didnt say anything
I read somewhere that the Feds just turned their Bugs off when the Mob Experts done their Room Sweeps that's hilarious if True?
@@Coltwollsch @10 getting into a lawyers office damn all needs the pledge of your first born but you can see why it’s necessary sometimes.
This documentary should've been called "The Dumbest Mobsters in History."
The FBI should have said "$1,000 debt? Are we on candid camera?"
Dude went to the FBI over a thousand bucks?? Jeez. To get a thousand bucks to save your own life I would think you'd make more of an effort.
In 1990, $1000 could buy you a car plus the mob charged interest.
Little punk can't handle his debt so he starts snitching for the FBI? Fkn weasel. I grew up in Philadelphia, 50's and 60's, and we didn't say nothin about nothin. Times sure have changed.
@@dontquitpersevere323 maybe a small used 1975 car aged 15 years with 100,000 miles lol
he did end up giving them
some good info….which i’m a little confused about. They didn’t go into HOW that informant knew all that stuff.
44:09 one of the craziest surreal you'll ever hear in your life
4:30 I do appreciate that the narrator says “the mob is charging little more interest than a credit card company.” 😊 A payday loan outfit might be more accurate, but still…
Great reporting.
FBI EPISODE add more its really nicely
Had 2 uncles who were “bookies” in the 40s ,50s and 60s. Unfortunately or fortunately for them we’re protected by a few local cops and politicians. They knew ahead of time when a state police raid was going down.
I'd say fortunately, but I'm no "genius"
He gave up valuable info for that protection....so congrats on having a rat in your family.
@@Jdalio5 no,he just gave them a cut. They did not “rat” anybody out
@@rowdyrx6109 oh yeah, is THAT what THEY told you
I remember I was in a market when the feds ran a raid. Nothing illegal was found. We never ratted on our book makers. When a number HIT it was paid in one lump sum.
This guy went to the FBI and wore a wire over a $1000 gambling debt? if that’s not a coward , I don’t know what a coward is.
😂😂😂🤦🏾
1000 was no joke back then. Today, it would be 4 grand. Tough to pay that back when you pissed all your money away gambling
was just thinking the same thing... little rat bastard 😡😡 dont borrow money then run to police if you cant pay it back
We had this kid in Leavenworth, called Two Times Timmy. He was in a wheelchair, saying everything two times, like "I'm TIMMY, TIMMY" what a character.
no you got that story from goodfellas
Timmy? IS THAT YOU?!
I parked Nicky Scarfo jrs stretch Cadillac at the phildelphia park racing track one. Cool mini stretch. Gave me a good tip. I'm not a Philly guy but this is an interesti ng story
an interesting made up story 👉🙈🙉
Dope episode 🔥🔥
Being in the FBI would be one hell of a way to get up in the morning to go to work taking on the mafia
Now their focus is oppressing the very people that fund their operations.
@@thenoneckpeoplerepresentat8074 They never had the makings of varsity athletes

The soul of the guy that shot John escaped him and never returning till this day 😂
02:36 “Not the kinda place where you want to cross the mob..”
I’d pay good money to find out of a good place where you can cross the mob.
Imagine wearing a wire for 1000 dollars...
Wearing one to save your health?
During those days a grand was alot of money , especially to a greedy degenerate gambling addict ! Owing someone a grand in his case is like owing a million lmao
i’d do it. if i was in that life. 1,000 beans buys a nice dinner and a couple o ‘prostitutes.
I will wear a wire!!l will wear a wire!!!
The last two men actually gave what I think to be good answers to the question..
Guy becomes a rat and risks his life over a $1000 that he lost fair and square? And this after the bookie was nice enough to charge him less than a visa card for the vig. What a pos.
Exactly. But the client collected when he won. Pos.
idu how this is not entrapment the guy knew if he lost he was going to the police.
