- Hello everyone!! I'm Jen and these are my thoughts and opinions through my lived life experiences. I'm a woman in long term recovery who is now a CARC (Certified Addiction Recovery Coach) and CRPA (Certified Recovery Peer Advocate) as well as a Rape Crisis Counselor. I use my lived experience to help others find their pathways to recovery. I am a huge supporter of Harm Reduction and am also a trainer of Narcan. It’s so powerful seeing you two together after active addiction. A lot of times people think that a couple in active addiction are just using eachother and that probably is the case a lot but to see how much you guys love eachother after going through all of that is so inspirational. Just getting home from work and was happy to see a new video from you and jess, i call that a double wammy lmfao

I've been clean since October 6th 2017! I do smoke bud and I'm on methadone so some would say I'm not clean but hey it works for me! Proud of you!! ❤

I just wish they would have cared about Bella getting off the bus, closing your front door, just cared a little. Damn compassion fatigue to the maximum.
Super cool that you guys were able to get sober together. Most couples it’s one wants to get sober and the other doesn’t so no one does. That’s really great I’m really happy for you. you are glowing.

I’d be interested to know if Jerred remembers everything the way you do! Anytime something traumatic like that happened to me and my ex, I always seem to remember every detail, like you do, while he can’t recall half of what happened. Idk, maybe it’s just because he was also twice as fucked up as I was at pretty much any given time, but I always kind of chopped it up to just being a woman and actually paying attention to what was going on. Wow I just finally watched your parenting and past video and you have really made me think about our children, we have a 17, 15, 14 year old girls and a 12 year old boy and my hubby and I had crazy addictions in our past, both had major car accidents with so many injuries and huge payouts which made our addiction very easy to afford. We managed to get clean together and our kids have only every known we “partied” but not how bad and scary and low it got, they are very open and tell us what friends are trying drugs or drinking or offered them ect but you have made me realise I need to have a talk to them about how addiction does run in the family if they were ever going to try anything because of our past, so a huge thank you for the wake up call 💞

When you were talking about waking up to the cops surrounding your house gave me so much anxiety. I've woken up to that so many times. I still have the dent in my back door from the battering ram. That was the last time for me. I was watching a movie with my dogs on the couch and I heard the stomping up the back steps and I already knew what it was. I thank God for my life now. No more looking over my shoulder. No more waking up sick. Recovery is a beautiful thing❤❤❤❤

I’m so glad you are out of that & are now telling us about it, instead of living it. You had me hanging on every word while I listened to this experience of yours. Man.. Another great video, thank you Jen! Any advice on quitting cigarettes? I'm so young and have already been smoking for 10 years. I want to be healthy but it feels impossible.
Honestly I vaped and smoked. Then quit the cigs and just vaped. Then only vaped at night. Then just totally quit vaping. I've been nicotine free since March.
Hey, I’ve been struggling to quit cigarettes for soo long too and finally found vaping works. You can choose the amount of nicotine so you won’t have nicotine withdrawals when you start, then you can slowly lower it over time. Look up Yelp reviews and find a shop where the staff are nice, then they’ll recommend you a good device for a beginner and explain how to use it, because there is a bit of a technique to it to replicate the feeling from smoking.
Vaping itself is far less damaging than cigarettes, even with the nicotine, because it’s just water vapor instead of the hundreds of chemicals in cigarettes. So switching to vaping is a fantastic step for your health. I did try nicotine gum and patches in the past, I don’t know if you’ve tried those or not, but they didn’t work for me whereas with vaping I’ve been able to not smoke cigarettes at all. So I’d definitely recommend it if you know you can’t just stop smoking altogether. Good luck, you got this!!

Wow! What an insane story! I've been arrested so many times, I've lost count over the years! It wasn't until 2010 when my boyfriend ODed and very nearly died from fentanyl laced heroin and I was facing 10 years in prison for saving his life (and his ass by getting rid of the needles and the rest of the dope before the cops and EMS showed up. How the cops found out about that is a whole other story! Let's just say he's got a SNITCH sister who had it out for me!) but since my boyfriend told the cops and detectives and prosecutor that he shot himself up and he's solely responsible for his own OD and that he just wanted me to get help and be on probation, I only got a year probation and six months of outpatient rehab. I still had fuck ups over the years but have been on suboxone since 2015ish and I've been opiate/heroin free since! Also I have 9 years off cocaine! Now I'm trying to quit drinking! I just decided yesterday that I'm gonna try to quit drinking because it's effecting my health in bad ways so it's definitely time to stop! Good video Jen!

OMG.. I think you might have met my ex or one of his minions at the Walmart in JC. I kicked him out of my house at the very end of 2018. I don't have contact with him but I know he is in prison in Fishkill after getting arrested in 2019. Damn...
