Can you advise me on why. When I use my walking foot that my bobbin stitch threads are loopy rather than stitches?

And bravo, Karen, for your maiden voyage into this series; it has started with a bang and looking forward to more! Karen and Anita you are super adorable; loved Anita’s relaxing approaches to quilting.....”relax, have fun, finished things are more important that perfect things. I am a 65 years old men, retired, learned how to sew shirts for myself, and going to quilt shops to buy shirt fabrics, little by little just could not resist the deep appealing of quilting. Is addictive and is changing my life for better. Thanks for the enthusiasm , the information and the love for this art....quilting,,!!!!!!!!😘😘😇❤️🥰

I have never had so much trouble sewing on my sturdy, go to machine with threads and needles breaking and jamming my machine! Sure wish I had seen this BEFORE I started that quilt! I learned about needle size the hard way. My machine wouldn't sew and was bunching up thread, I spent 2 days looking at the bobbin; I finally took it to my local quilt shop and within 5 minutes she diagnosed the problem WRONG NEEDLE SIZE. She gave me the proper needle size and what a difference.

OMG! Karen - this interview was awesome! I've only been quilting for 1.5 years now. My first love is garment sewing. But with the pandemic, I shifted my focus to quilting. My husband jokes that I need to make quilts for our bed more so than garments! And in some ways he's right! I love my sewing instructor as she's been quilting since 1993. And we get along well. She treats me like her own son. But in building my reference library of videos, books, pdf materials, etc. I'm discovering more that some of her views on quilting were from the era she learned in. Sometimes I try to introduce her to the more current content that she view on her computer. But she's seems to be somewhat off-put by it all. I definitely love to quilt. But my fear of screwing up an expensive project can be overwhelming at times! This interview helped me relax more about the process and become more aware of the threads I'm using! I've always stuck with Signature quilting cotton threads with no issues and have been using quilting needles. But I never really thought about mixing it up - within reasonable limits of course! To hear Anita state that quilting should be fun was so refreshing! Thank you for investing your precious time and energy in delivering this content! I've downloaded your materials on colour theory along with online classes offered by the National Quilter's Circle and their free-motion quilting classes. I am thoroughly enjoying the classes. Now it's the challenge of processing it all project by project. To hear Anita indicate she marked up her quilts for her designs made me feel so much better about the process! It was like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. I had invested in quilting stencils for months now and am feeling more confident about using them! Again, thank you so much Karen for this content!

Oh my goodness! WHO KNEW? “Excellent info” doesn’t touch this! I keep thinking “great question” then she would blow it out of the water with her answer and additional info. I saved to replay as more info than my brain could soak in tonight.
I all but shouted YES when you both talked of how our lives have changed since February and how not only have we adapted but are thriving . I know many are not able to refocus and survive so I feel guilty when I am asked how I’m doing and reply “I’m thriving”. We have a choice as to how we respond to life’s bumps and cliffs and I Have immense respect for everyone dealing with all that is happening in their lives and still living best as they can . A son living with you while dealing with cancer treatment and living with Parkinson’s are giant yet you both are showing us how we can focus on the good while coping with overwhelming piles of terrifying life detours. Thanks for that example
Looking forward to your next video and please have her come back to tell us more!

Karen, OMG! I knew just enough to know I didn’t know anything! Have been sewing since I was a child. I’ve dabbled in quilting projects and decided it was for me. Then my closest quilt shop closed right before COVID. So the internet has been a wonderful thing for me. Please keep your podcasts coming. God bless you and your family.

Glad you enjoy it! It's meant for listening while doing something else. Whereas my weekly video is made for consumption during a coffee break.

I have to echo everyone here thank you so much for sharing this interview with Anita with us. I do hope that you'll be able to do another one as I feel there was so much more that she could teach us. I know I'll find myself returning to this again. Thank you so much and keep them coming!

Hi Karen. I can’t believe all much I learned and loved your interview with Anita Zobens. I’m thrilled to have “met” her. I love her philosophy about work and life and all the curve balls we’ve been thrown lately by Covid. Yet here I am, one of the most out there people I know.I was very busy all the time going here and there all the time. When all that came to a screeching halt with the pandemic, I suddenly had time to do the one thing I loved best and that is quilting. I hardly ever go out, but when I do I enjoy it, even a visit to the dentist is fun, but my heart lies at home in my sewing studio in the back of my kitchen with a machine I’d like to chuck...did I mention expensive machine? Bottom line is that we’ve all learned so much. Even my granddaughters who thought they’d hate just going to school away from home only two days, now love it. The change in pace helps them do better and feel better. So we all need home more than we thought. Thank you Karen for bringing Anita and her life and thread stories for us to enjoy and learn from.

What a fantastic podcast! I have been quilting for about 50 years and I learned so much today! Thank you!thank you! thank you! The down to earth advice about ‘its just a quilt’ is wonderful. I think sometimes we are too hard on ourselves to get things perfect we forget to enjoy the process. Again thank you!♥️
