Ive seen makers for movies. It's the knitted shawl or a quilt made to look very old but this was by far the best. I don't make bags but I would love to take a class from this amazing person. You nailed it again Karen!
Loved this interview! So much incredible energy and so much to learn! I am sharing this one with my sister who lives in Calgary; amazing woman for sure! Thank you, as always!!!
There are 2 quilts in Good Omens that I just love. One is on Adam's bed and one is behind him when he is sitting on the wood "throne" in the woods. You just get a glimpse of the 2nd one.
Karen and Tara: Thank you for this wonderful time spent!!!🥰 I really enjoyed your journey and all I can say is “you go girl”😝. You’ve obviously got your heart and head in the right places!!! I will be checking out your website! ❤️😀
💃🕺💃Yayayayayay! Another interview!!🎉 You find the BEST people! She is absolutely fantastic! Just like I never REALLY noticed special effects makeup until we watched "Face Off," I never paid as MUCH attention to the background fabrics/textiles until I started quilting and sewing again! It's like when one is pregnant, all one sees is pregnant women!😂😅🤣 Great job y'all!!
Look at that! Beautiful! That pop of yellow really sings. You really have a talent for deconstructing and redesigning. Love your design wall. It’s so full of gorgeous blocks. Hopefully we get to visit in a few days. 🎉
Regular job you like and a fun, hands on, engaging side hustle, nice. Can't beat that. Had to be cool seeing and learning the process they go through to put a backpack on film. I love seeing what they do with wardrobes, etc. for film and how many duplicates they need for different reasons so it's also neat hearing about the what the backpacks went through as well.
Thank you Karen for the interview. I really enjoyed it and Tara is awesome. I've been wanting to make a bag now I have the inspiration to try as soon as I get some unfinished projects done. You ladies are special.
Tara is absolutely delightful! The comparison of programming and quilting, among all the other examples, was perfect! Enjoyed the interview very much. Thanks for another great video!
Helped to knit the sweater "young" Gloria wore on the Gloria Steinem movie while I was working in our lys. Needed to be done fast when they changed the filming schedule!
The quilt that first git me interested in quilting was on a shiw called Dawsons Creek , i saw the quilt on his bed and fell in love , sadly i dont know if there is a pattern for it as i dont know what its called ,and as it was about 24 years ago , the internet was not really a thing then . But since then , i always look at quilts and textiles on tv and film .( Favourite film about quilts has to be How to make an American quilt ) its a great story but really highlight's the relationships , how the quilt was part of the community, its just like comfort food to me . I lovef this interview, thank uou karen again for making it .
I’m so curious what machines Tara is using. I’m a quilter and a bag maker so all of this is right up my alley. Tara mentioned an industrial machine and moving the needle position, is there an industrial machine that can do that?
My industrial machine is a straight stitch only, most of my bags are actually made on my BERNINA 570 QEE, which is where I use the different feet. Only when I hit the heavy leather and canvas do I head to the industrial machine which is a Titan 650BL, and there is a left foot and a right foot, that's it on that baby as it's a compound walking foot machine.
@@UhOhCreations thank you so much for your reply! I love knowing what tools and machines help people create their beautiful work. I stitch on an industrial straight stitch juki, a janome memory craft, and an old singer treadle. I love them all! I really enjoyed hearing about your work. It was a lovely interview.
Great show Karen! 😀🩷 Hearing people's life paths to quilting is so fascinating. Those that have a marriage partnership is super cool. Ive heard of carpenters but a mechanic! A whole new area for us quilters to explore 😂
Tara is amazing! I have taken a class with her and learned so much. Her energy is wonderful.
Yes yes yes!!! As a career software developer/manager/director I can sooooo relate to Tara! Great interview, thank you Karen!
Excellent interview! Tara is delightful…so much energy & enthusiasm in 'both' areas. Thanks, Karen👍

I really enjoyed this interview. In fact, I've done wall quilts for 'The Power' and another show on Apple+. Love to do more.

Tara seems so lovely and genuine. I loved hearing about her experiences.
What a fun and joyful guest (she doesn’t look a day over 20)….Just bought the Logan bag pattern.
Having a full time job and a full time 2 n 14:21 d job/side hustle is not for everyone , but I have done it successfully , and loved every minute.
Another awesome interview. Thank you ❤❤
She is a very passionate person on her job and her designs which is lovely

That is the Mini Penelope by Sew Kind of Wonderful - I did it as a colorwash

Did I miss something? Making for the movies?
In the interview, we talk about the bags I made for the HBO TV Series, The Last of Us.
