I've read that most wolfdogs stop going to dog parks at about 2 years old when they get out of that submissive phase you mentioned.

Yeah, it's an uphill journey. Our girl is just starting to obey at year 1. They also will flat out ignore food treats. So you have to be creative.

Very good video and i could tell you have a lot of time with your wolfdogs. I have had mine for 9 years and she is not as socialized as she should have been but she has a great disposition and has never been aggresive except with delivery drivers. which is i think my wifes fault for rewarding that behavior.

My oldest wolfdog is 6 and he’s not very well socialized but he’s my best behaved one at home.

I know I have said this several times, but they are so beautiful. How much wolf is in Rain? I’m learning a lot from you, thank you so much for sharing these videos. I know some about wolves 🐺

Poor buddies. Probably need to be all positive interactions too, otherwise they'll be pretty grumpy towards people. I would sacrifice some old clothes so a big fuzzy pal can have a happy life.

@ CANINE TWANG I was wondering if low content wolf-dogs such as the Czechoslovakian vlack make good guard dogs compared to high content wolf-dogs. I plan on getting a wolf-dog in future to keep my DDR German shepherd some company but I want a low content one.

No I don’t think they do. Look into blue bay shepherds though. Vickie Spencer is the breeder.

That is not cool. They should be a le to stay with their mother til 8 weeks old and still be trained to be social!

This is also done at the major Wolf research centers, like Wolf Park, with pure wolves. They need to imprint on humans because of their innate fear. Then you still have to socialize with humans everyday for about a year. You can still let Momma come around though.
