@@djacobs9658 that's a great question Brother 🤔. I've bought wheels that were either bent/warped or otherwise unbalanced out of the bag. Most of my bent wheels took rim damage from my own doing 😂. Curb taps, sideways hits, or hitting boulders and debris at speed. I'm a stickler for keeping my wheels either mounted with the trucks on a makeshift stand, or stacked on their sides with no pressure on the foams. I also vent all my bash tires to keep sand, dirt, and water out. Unless your bins are being exposed to extreme temperature shifts or the wheels are jammed together, I can't see how they're getting jacked up. Wheels do have their limits though. Storing them usually helps preserve their useful life. 🍻😎💪👊👊

Perfect fitment and spin killer at the center diff cup 👌. Taper and thickness is spot on with minimal weight. Wishing I'd had more time to rake some jumps at the gravel spot. Great bash and driving as usual my friend. I'm doing well around 30ft plus jumps and I haven't bent the center driveshafts yet, but you are probably doing twice that height 🤣. I'm about to install the thicker M2C driveshafts. TBH the previous ones would snap in the rear of my EXB K8S and O8S, but in the front they are still going strong, so the thicker ones will go in the rear.
Sweet new m2c bits. I did just put some scorched titanium out drives to try in my kraton 8s , but I’d love to try m2c in my outcast , hopefully we get them here at eastern rc soon . Also your little apple of your eye can drive better than me , ( best teacher around being her dad though) nice one thanks Rich.

I’ve got a max 6 esc in my kraton 1/5 I bought the m2c mount just to mount the 750kv with 39/39 gears I’m hearing this won’t work out I know you’ve got more experience with these rigs than anyone else what can I do to make this work? Or is it even possible? I don’t wanna fry the esc but I don’t wanna spend $200 on a esc

I'm using the beefier stock EXB steering rods and toe links 👍. Running RPM front A arms. The EXB links are much stronger than the standard Kraton 8s ones. 😎💪👊👊

I've had good luck with the Zeee 7200mah 80c 4s hardpacks. Usually grab mine on Amazon. Reliable with good run times. Graphene Yowoo 100c packs are higher performance and also sometimes sell at discounted prices.🍻😎💪👊👊
I wouldn't say 34/34 is better, it just puts the heavy motor more central in the chassis bay vs closer to the mudguard. Both are 1/1 gearing and should equal the same speed. 🍻

Hey Brother 👊. If you're running the RTR 8s rear turnbuckles, I highly recommend upgrading to EXB ones. They have a thicker shaft and WAY stronger rod ends 💪. I've broken a couple from wicked nasty hits, but the rod ends don't move or strip on the threads like the RTR ones. I should note you need the EXB inner pivot mounts that affix on the tower. 😎💪👊👊
There is no doubt that M2C has put a good edge on the kratons once dull bashing rep. I've never been less than estatic with their products. Your driving abilities are where the magic truly lies. Mid air control like no other.

@@swissevov you bet 👍. I don't add shims with the 8s rigs. Just keep the existing crown gear side bearing shim. The diffs are meshed quite well in stock configuration.

Such an awesome bash man the kraton 8s never stops keeping me on awe. Mitch keeps coming out with such great products. Any idea if he has any plans to do 8s sway bars? I've actually bent a couple recently when I land hard enough it comes down on the drive shafts n bends them. So awesome to see the talion out again. Such a versatile truck and that 3s typhon is so epic. I'm in the middle of building one for my dad . I feel like I've asked you before but when you get your belted tires for the 8s rigs do you still venting them or does that compromise the belt material? Forgot to mention I actually took mine off my K8s EXB a couple runs ago. Even running thicker ones, I kept having them pop out at the balls over time and they'd snag the shafts and bend up. Not sure if it's a geometry thing or if the grubs just can't lock onto the flat spot of the swaybar well enough 🤔. My EXB has more body lean , but it seems to drift and corner fine and tackle rougher terrain well. I don't view them as a must have, but will mention it to Mitch and the test team 👍. @@nickteele169 I forgot to mention I vented my Duratrax Six Packs X's and Lockups, but not my Proline Masher X HP's. Those come without rim or tire vent holes and the cushion felt great without venting. You won't mess up the belting with venting though. 🍻

Wondering if I could get your opinion on a 8s exb setup? I’m in the process of sourcing parts for my build. I thinking of a kraton 8s exb. Surpass Hobby Rocket V2 880kv. Max 5 ESC. 34/34 Gearing. Based on your experience these rigs am I getting the right stuff?
Hey Derek 🤗. I've heard good things overall about Rocket motors. They might come from the same manufacturer as my Hobbystars based off appearance. The gearing sounds about perfect for that kv. The 880kv I saw online is a 5593. That's just big enough for good grunt, but likely won't have as much raw power as say a 5898 or 56112. It boils down to your taste and preference too. Just throwing that out there because I've always found it better to have extra power on tap if you want or need it. The EXB K8s is a big heavy rig. That motor might be plenty, but I just don't know not having tried one. 🍻😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 thanks for the insight. I’m glad I reached out because I deeply overlooked the watt specs on these big motors. That rocket v2 was 4800 watts vs 56112 7350 watts. 9.5hp vs 6.5. I would have left a lot of power on the table. I found a Surpass 56112 780kv for $105 and pulled the trigger on that one. I assume my hearing choice won’t change?

Every single time I jump my k8 I break 1 or both rear arms. The arms are breaking at the hinge pins. I have M2c everything except shocks. Any tips you have would be greatly appreciated!
I run my suspension fairly soft for easier chassis slap. Think I'm using 30-35 weight rear. The M2C O ring style pistons are smoother allowing better stroke with less afterbounce due to the downwards facing slits and oil pressure applied to the O ring during rebound. Make sure your hinge pins aren't binding and I recommend using 2 M3 button head screws per arm to set your droop. Also replace any bent or sticking shock shafts. Lastly, try to land level as best you can. 😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 my suspension is soft as well and I don't have any bent shafts. It is 45° here so I believe the temperature plays a big part in it. I here some people say soak arms with wd40...have you heard that? Does it work
@@chriswhite3202 I honestly don't think WD-40 does much for increasing flexibility. I use it for cleaning metals and sometimes plastics. It's great for displacing water as designed. The cold temps definitely don't help though 😝

Thanks so much Brother 👊. I just use a budget temp gun from Harbor freight. Cheap and accurate measurements. Keep temps less than 150F when possible, 160 tops. Beyond that is getting toasty. 😎💪👊👊

I received this as a gift from my girlfriend and I’m in love with this car! I just have had some problems My spectrum setup is completely out, motor shaft broke, esc blew up, so I got a hobby wing 1100kv with a max5 set up. I wanted to ask what you recommended for a diff oil set up as well as well as pinion setup if you had time to help with some advice, I feel like I broke the motor shaft from adding all the weight I did with the Vitavon, f&r knuckles, aluminum center brace and added a bash bar to the stock chasis to go cheap, and with the stock spur and a 20T pinion. Any help? Please and thank you!!!!!
Sorry about your rough luck with the Spectrum electronics Brayan. Not sure why the stock 1250kv motor came with a 5mm motor shaft 😝. That's simply too small for these rigs. Added weight could've contributed to the breakage, but the shaft really needs to be 8mm like most all bigger motors. Most guys run a 27-30T pinion with the Hobbywing 1100 with good results. Just check temps and stay below 160F tops. The 5687 is the smallest motor you really want to run in the K8s. 56112 Hobbystar motors are my preferred. As far as diffs, I like 1 million front, Silicone ear plugs center, and 500k rear. 😎💪👊👊

I should've said 8s Backflips, but they're much smaller than the stock Copperhead 2's that come on the 8s EXB. I do have to touch up the glue beads periodically. The Proline Masher X HP's (belted) have been among the best I've ran for staying glued 👍. They're quite light for their size and perform solid. Just not the most forgiving on rougher/bouncy terrain. 😎💪👊👊
@@mmalone2107 I'm not familiar with that servo. Running a Hobbystar 6912 HV in mine. Make sure your servo saver adjustment is snugged down and the pillow ball nuts and other links are all good. You might be able to increase the BEC Voltage on your ESC if your servo and reciever are rated for it. 😎💪👊👊
@@broken4999 I like the 8s kit, however, I'd remove the 5mm shock shafts and either run the stock EXB 8s 6mm shocks or get the 7mm M2C shock package. Looks like they give you the option to remove the shafts from the kit order. 👍

This was the first time I've tested the M2C prototype 8s center driveshafts 🤔. Might look like another video, but it isn't. My role on the test team is to beat on parts and make certain they perform as expected under stress so guys are happy with them when they become available to the public. 🍻

Great bash and driving as usual my friend. I'm doing well around 30ft plus jumps and I haven't bent the center driveshafts yet, but you are probably doing twice that height 🤣. I'm about to install the thicker M2C driveshafts. TBH the previous ones would snap in the rear of my EXB K8S and O8S, but in the front they are still going strong, so the thicker ones will go in the rear.

I’ve got a max 6 esc in my kraton 1/5 I bought the m2c mount just to mount the 750kv with 39/39 gears I’m hearing this won’t work out I know you’ve got more experience with these rigs than anyone else what can I do to make this work? Or is it even possible? I don’t wanna fry the esc but I don’t wanna spend $200 on a esc

I'm using the beefier stock EXB steering rods and toe links 👍. Running RPM front A arms. The EXB links are much stronger than the standard Kraton 8s ones. 😎💪👊👊

I’m putting an XLX2 and castle 1100kv in my Kraton 8S RTR. With that big motor and ESC, what’s the best 4S battery pack to run for high performance? I want to maximize voltage but hopefully not spend an arm as well. Thanks!
I've had good luck with the Zeee 7200mah 80c 4s hardpacks. Usually grab mine on Amazon. Reliable with good run times. Graphene Yowoo 100c packs are higher performance and also sometimes sell at discounted prices.🍻😎💪👊👊

I wouldn't say 34/34 is better, it just puts the heavy motor more central in the chassis bay vs closer to the mudguard. Both are 1/1 gearing and should equal the same speed. 🍻

Hey Brother 👊. If you're running the RTR 8s rear turnbuckles, I highly recommend upgrading to EXB ones. They have a thicker shaft and WAY stronger rod ends 💪. I've broken a couple from wicked nasty hits, but the rod ends don't move or strip on the threads like the RTR ones. I should note you need the EXB inner pivot mounts that affix on the tower. 😎💪👊👊

@@swissevov you bet 👍. I don't add shims with the 8s rigs. Just keep the existing crown gear side bearing shim. The diffs are meshed quite well in stock configuration.

I've actually bent a couple recently when I land hard enough it comes down on the drive shafts n bends them. So awesome to see the talion out again. Such a versatile truck and that 3s typhon is so epic. I'm in the middle of building one for my dad . I feel like I've asked you before but when you get your belted tires for the 8s rigs do you still venting them or does that compromise the belt material? Forgot to mention I actually took mine off my K8s EXB a couple runs ago. Even running thicker ones, I kept having them pop out at the balls over time and they'd snag the shafts and bend up. Not sure if it's a geometry thing or if the grubs just can't lock onto the flat spot of the swaybar well enough 🤔. My EXB has more body lean , but it seems to drift and corner fine and tackle rougher terrain well. I don't view them as a must have, but will mention it to Mitch and the test team 👍. @@nickteele169 I forgot to mention I vented my Duratrax Six Packs X's and Lockups, but not my Proline Masher X HP's. Those come without rim or tire vent holes and the cushion felt great without venting. You won't mess up the belting with venting though. 🍻

Hey Derek 🤗. I've heard good things overall about Rocket motors. They might come from the same manufacturer as my Hobbystars based off appearance. The gearing sounds about perfect for that kv. The 880kv I saw online is a 5593. That's just big enough for good grunt, but likely won't have as much raw power as say a 5898 or 56112. It boils down to your taste and preference too. Just throwing that out there because I've always found it better to have extra power on tap if you want or need it. The EXB K8s is a big heavy rig. That motor might be plenty, but I just don't know not having tried one. 🍻😎💪👊👊

I would have left a lot of power on the table. I found a Surpass 56112 780kv for $105 and pulled the trigger on that one. I assume my hearing choice won’t change?

Every single time I jump my k8 I break 1 or both rear arms. The arms are breaking at the hinge pins. I have M2c everything except shocks. Any tips you have would be greatly appreciated!
I run my suspension fairly soft for easier chassis slap. Think I'm using 30-35 weight rear. The M2C O ring style pistons are smoother allowing better stroke with less afterbounce due to the downwards facing slits and oil pressure applied to the O ring during rebound. Make sure your hinge pins aren't binding and I recommend using 2 M3 button head screws per arm to set your droop. Also replace any bent or sticking shock shafts. Lastly, try to land level as best you can. 😎💪👊👊
@@richduperbash2966 my suspension is soft as well and I don't have any bent shafts. It is 45° here so I believe the temperature plays a big part in it. I here some people say soak arms with wd40...have you heard that? Does it work
@@chriswhite3202 I honestly don't think WD-40 does much for increasing flexibility. I use it for cleaning metals and sometimes plastics. It's great for displacing water as designed. The cold temps definitely don't help though 😝

Thanks so much Brother 👊. I just use a budget temp gun from Harbor freight. Cheap and accurate measurements. Keep temps less than 150F when possible, 160 tops. Beyond that is getting toasty. 😎💪👊👊

I received this as a gift from my girlfriend and I’m in love with this car! I just have had some problems
My spectrum setup is completely out, motor shaft broke, esc blew up, so I got a hobby wing 1100kv with a max5 set up. I wanted to ask what you recommended for a diff oil set up as well as well as pinion setup if you had time to help with some advice, I feel like I broke the motor shaft from adding all the weight I did with the Vitavon, f&r knuckles, aluminum center brace and added a bash bar to the stock chasis to go cheap, and with the stock spur and a 20T pinion. Any help? Please and thank you!!!!!
Sorry about your rough luck with the Spectrum electronics Brayan. Not sure why the stock 1250kv motor came with a 5mm motor shaft 😝. That's simply too small for these rigs. Added weight could've contributed to the breakage, but the shaft really needs to be 8mm like most all bigger motors. Most guys run a 27-30T pinion with the Hobbywing 1100 with good results. Just check temps and stay below 160F tops. The 5687 is the smallest motor you really want to run in the K8s. 56112 Hobbystar motors are my preferred. As far as diffs, I like 1 million front, Silicone ear plugs center, and 500k rear. 😎💪👊👊

I should've said 8s Backflips, but they're much smaller than the stock Copperhead 2's that come on the 8s EXB. I do have to touch up the glue beads periodically. The Proline Masher X HP's (belted) have been among the best I've ran for staying glued 👍. They're quite light for their size and perform solid. Just not the most forgiving on rougher/bouncy terrain.

@@mmalone2107 I'm not familiar with that servo. Running a Hobbystar 6912 HV in mine. Make sure your servo saver adjustment is snugged down and the pillow ball nuts and other links are all good. You might be able to increase the BEC Voltage on your ESC if your servo and reciever are rated for it. 😎💪👊👊

@@broken4999 I like the 8s kit, however, I'd remove the 5mm shock shafts and either run the stock EXB 8s 6mm shocks or get the 7mm M2C shock package. Looks like they give you the option to remove the shafts from the kit order. 👍

What broke on the xmaxx
First the stock gears (spur and pinion) gave out and the center driveshaft bent badly. My next bash with HW 1100kv and hardened gears, the chassis broke towards the rear 😱. Hopefully get the vid up soon. It did great until the last couple ramp hits.
