- Big Girl showing who's boss again in the large scale, hardcore bash arena. Such a terrain monster with insane power, handling, and overall capability once properly dressed. Huge thanks to M2C Racing for the world class upgrades and Fast Track Hobbies in Rocklin, CA.
On another road trip at the moment 😍. FYI... I busted a rear camera link (plastic ball cup). Not bad considering the hammering Big Girl took out there. Diff setup: Silicone ear plugs center, 1 million front, 500k rear. Shocks have 35W rear, 40 front. Appreciate the comments and will respond in a bit. Thanks to my bash brothers for another awesome session!!! 😱🚀🚀

Kraton is always my favorite all around RC. Even though its 1/5 scale, you can really see its racing roots from the team Durango era.

Wow dudes were ducking for cover that that big beast. Stock it seems like it's way underpowered and that 7075 Chassis does bend easily. I've seem several that have. You have the perfect setup for a highly aggressive bash. Rich you definitely succeeded absolutely one of your best. Keep it up. Excellent Video
Yeah the stock K8s was seriously under geared and the stock EXB chassis is a far cry from M2C 7075 T6. Thank goodness for wonderful aftermarket options 😍. Truly appreciate it Brother 🍻

Happy to see a real rig back on the channel and putting the entry level trashas crap down! 😂 you should talk to the state about getting that location permitted as an RC bash park and having it preserved. Also having work done to make it better. That’s been your best spot forever and we’d hate to see it turned into anything else

I bought a guy out of all his electric helicopters that was getting out of the R/C hobby & he also had a 8S Kraton. He said the chassis was bent, but gave it to me for $150 with two batteries. I was stoked to get it torn down, and replace the chassis. I heard that the M2C chassis was the way to go for big air jumping..but the price for that chassis and a couple other parts was/is crazy. I know M2C is one of, if not THEE best chassis upgrade, but I’m going to see if I can find a used straight stock chassis and call it good enough. Did I make a bad deal buying it for $150.00
Thanks Brother 🤗. 150$ is a steal for a Kraton 8s plus batteries 👀. You could probably straighten the chassis yourself if you wanted to. M2C upgrades aren't cheap, but quality 7075 T6 and the cost of CNC machines aren't cheap either. Just depends on your needs and how hard you bash. I got tired of straightening and replacing chassis's 🍻

Thanks Brother 🤗. Most of the upgrades are from M2C Racing. Chassis, motor mount, suspension blocks, 7mm shock kit, beefcake dog bones and CVD's, brace rod ends, and pillow ball retaining nuts. The motor is a Hobbystar 56112 840kv from RC Juice with 34/34 gearing. Servo is a 6912 HV Brutal torque Hobbystar. I would of assumed the xrt plastic chassis was almost a better platform than the arma bendable stock chassis. But compared to that upgraded chassis i didnt realize it was that durable. Some of those jumps are insane and not a single bend.
Yeah the XRT will flex a good amount, but it (like the XMaxx) will reach a breaking point and implode with enough stress. The upgraded ARRMA 8s rigs are on another level of absolute durability. Yes they're heavier, but they're awesome with the right power and setup. 🍻
Rich, would you consider doing a video about controlling your rig in the air? As someone starting out in the bashing hobby I'd be really interested in learning how you got into it and your personal learning curve. Did you break a lot of stuff starting out? What was your first hard bashing rig, things like that.

Definitely busted my share of parts learning air control 😱. Having rode motocross, I understood the principles of pace, wheelspin, throttle and braking midair to level off...etc. That said, practice and firsthand experience and experimentation is the only way to build skill and confidence. The Typhon 6s was the first rig that impressed me durability wise. There's lots of durable bashers, but that one definitely stands out. 🍻

That 8s is a beast and a beautiful rig. I have a question for u. I was thinking about getting a hobby star 150amp esc a 2150kv for my kraton v2 4s. I have a spectrum 150amp esc and a 2050kv motor. But the spectrum motor gets way to hot and I can't afford a hobby wing esc and motor combo. Plz help me Rich.

Thanks Brother 🤗. Both motors are good options. The Hobbywing 5687 1100 is just big enough to handle the weight, while being very fast and smooth. Just have to keep an eye on temps. 32/39 gearing works great with stock Backflips. I haven't ran the bigger Hobbywing 800. My guess is 34/34 or 39/39 would work well. I'm still running a Hobbystar 56112 980kv with Max5 34/39 gearing in my O8s and she's a screamer 😱🚀🚀

Hey Rich hows that Cali sunshine ? Sorry but have ? Running duramax hachets on my 8S Kraton n they seem to peel from wheel. Should i go with P'line ? I do run proline on my 6S cars with no issues. Tired of the gluing. Thnx. I just put some overkill drive shafts on too.
Sunshine is in full effect here. Gonna hit 115-117F this weekend. The lighter Proline HP belted tires are nice. I have busted a few of the wheel hexes though. Duratrax are a better value albeit a little heavier. It's unfortunate the glue beads are always a question mark 🍻

Thanks so much Thomas 😊. I'm running a Hobbystar 6912 HV Brutal torque servo. Just need the large ARRMA servo tray and you have to shorten the main servo saver set screw about 3-4mm. 🍻

@@thomaslarsen4354 yes I use 2 short M3 button head screws per arm. They screw into the 2 holes under each arm. No part #. I just used spare screws from my hardware box.
U getting the losi dirt bike? Would be sweet to see u send it and have yet to see anyone back flip it, if possible with the gyro thingy
I'm definitely considering it 👀. Grew up riding BMX and MX and definitely think Losi put a ton of thought and engineering into the promoto. The wheels/spokes may need upgrading among a few other mods. 🍻

Thanks Josh 🤗. The Vitavon diff cases aren't cheap, but the tolerances are great and they shouldn't strip out like the stock bulkheads can over time with harder bashing. These are very solid 💪
@richduperbash2966 my stock bulkheads have held up decent except the plate that holds the bell crank on popps the screw out when you send it good. I'm thinking if they are Rich Duperbash approved then I probably need some myself.

I'm running on bone dry, low traction dirt here. Drifting will happen no matter what until there's rain again 👍. Running silicone ear plugs center, 1 million front, and 500k rear.
hey do you have any shock recommendations for an arrma typhon 3s that arent crazy expensive? I've tried looking for the trackstar shocks but i just cant find them. thanks
Unfortunately the Trackstar buggy/truggy shocks became backordered and then discontinued I believe. The Typhon 6s shocks can work with lighter springs and oils (around 30 weight). They're a direct fit if you use the Axial shock bushings. Thanks 🤗. I definitely prefer stock A arms. RPM arms flex way too much and don't have droop screws. This allows the shock shafts to bend along with CVD driveshafts and dog bones.

The camera doesnt do the Arrma 8s any justice to its size. They are huge in person. Whenever I take mine out to the spot we jump the other guys with RCs that haven't seen one in person are always shocked, lol. It's great to see you jumping that flying cynder block again. lol

Hey Brother 🤗. Sorry I missed your comment. I use to run RPM front arms for awhile. Honestly can't recommend them. Way too flexible and zero droop screw option. I switched back to stock once I'd bent enough front shock shafts and got tired of the sloppy handling. 👍

@@swissevov I used 2 M3 button head screws per arm in the existing holes. Basically set the depth so the shock rod ends aren't being yanked on by the A arms. You can add M3 washers under the screw heads for less droop.

Great video bro I had a question about a max5 g2 I hooked it up and turned it on and got a series of beeps, it was 1,3,1, then blinking red can you tell me what that indicates. I am looking everywhere and I've called multiple hobby stores and know one has an answer.
Thanks Michael 🤗. I don't have the G2 Max5 and am honestly not sure about it's programming or trouble codes. Hobbywing usually lists their codes towards the back of the ESC pamphlet sheet. My regular bash buddies are Ian, Victor, John, and Dave. John and David have their own channels. RC Unknown is John's channel. David's is Dave's Sacramento RC.
The XRT needs a small fortune $$$ of upgrades in parts before you take it out the first time. Even after that you'll still probably have broken parts ea h time you run it if your giving it the beans.
You nailed it Brother 👊. The XRT is fun once upgraded plus proper power installed, but it's still gonna have cracks and breakages with the plastic base 🍻

Don't buy want you don't need or can't afford. This hobby isn't cheap either way. An upgraded Kraton is far more durable. No BS, just the painful truth many faithful Traxxas fanboys hate to hear. That said, I still like my XRT. Just know from first hand experience it can't take the same level of punishment with all the plastic and hollow spacing in the webbed framing. 🍻

I haven't needed a fan. She can get above 150F during the dead of summer, but the 840kv can handle 1/1 gearing no problem 🤗
