My name is Philip and I'm a blacksmith based in Sweden. This is how I forge my Dig deep pendants.
About Lufolk:
I have always been interested in the simple things in life. When I look back in history i gets inspired and fascinated by the people who came up with all the smart solutions to make our everyday life easier. It's impressive what you can accomplish with few tools and great skill. The first time I got that feeling, like wow I made this, this will be useful, was when I as a kid made a wooden spoon. And think that was the start, I have ever since been interested in making things. You can see more of my work on my website or on my Instagram:

incredible . The way METAL can turn into a thing so easily bentable is forever fascinating to me no matter how silly that sounds . And your skill to turn a regular hunk of it to something sleek and artistic is awe inspiring. 🖤🖤🖤
I totally agree with you! I'm also fascinated. Thank you very much!
@@lufolkcrafts of course! it's channels like this one that inspire to chase my interests no matter how "forgotten" or obscure they are. Much love 🖤
Ese es el buen herrero, el que no necesita amoladoras ni taladros. Muy bueno tio👌
Thank you very much!
Yours is one of the best forging channels. I'm so glad I came across your channel. You'll definitely be big in future. Best of luck brother. Skål!
Wow! Thank you so much! Take care brother! Skål!
Love the "no talk" videos when they're well done. Some videos are irritating with all the talk. Great video!
Thanks for the feedback!
👍⚒🤠
Alright - I've been binge watching your channel tonight. It's been a while since I've gotten this inspired to get out to the forge and make stuff. Your small items are amazing, and is the kind of stuff I really enjoy. All that said, the bomb-diggity for me in this video was that ball pein hammer punch! Definitely going to be making one of those (along with all the other stuff on your channel)! Thank you, thank you, thank you, for putting this content out here!
Wow, awesome! Thank you 🙏
Nice work 👍
Thanks!
You've got tremendous skills! What is the piece used for in this video?
Thank you so much! This is a pendant.
So happy to see this craft still alive, and also that you decided to share the process! I'm curious how small/thin objects you can work from iron with these methods, would one have to switch to casting at some point, or does it simply become too brittle then?
Great to hear that you enjoy it! In some of my pendant i forge 2 mm round bar so quite thin material. Cast iron is brittle but i do use other metals when i am casting. Such as silver and bronze.
Do you do any crafts?
@@lufolkcrafts Thank you for the reply! 2mm sounds thin enough for most things i could think of. :) And as you say, there are other metals out there too! I don't do any crafts sadly, but i hang out with a lot of reenactors so i get to see the leatherworking, sewing, dyeing etc and appreciate their work too! History is best when kept alive for sure.
@@defenestrator3840 totally agree 🙂
What type of metal are you working for these and what was the substance you put into the forge first? Highly enjoy these, I hope you have more in the future!
Edit: saw dust and oil, I should've read the other comments lol
Hi! Thank you! Happy to hear that you like it! Will make more for sure! I am using iron.
@@lufolkcrafts thanks! I have lots of old RR spikes I may give a shot at making some of my own stuff once I get a forge going. Skål!
@@Loki_Dokie that will work! Good luck and have fun!
@@lufolkcrafts thanks!
Was that sand you put in the fire pot, what does it do?
In the beginning before i started the fire? That was ash from yesterday's fire that i took out
i believe it was saw dust
@@lufolkcrafts i think what he meant was at 2:00
@@CanadianWookie ah! Of course. That is saw dust mixed with oil. Great fire starter! 🙂
But what is it????
It is a pendant.
