Kudos for the great content sir. I have a very sad college life. Electronics engineering student po ako turning third year (kinuha ko dahil sa scholarship), but i decided to follow my dreams na maging Cpa Laywer. Transferred school and shifted course, only to learn na 29 units lang ang ma ccredit.
So i stopped for a year out of frustration and financial struggle sa family. So sad na pagbalik ko sa school, NEW CURRICULUM na ako. Back to 0, nstp lang na credit. Super sad na makita sa fb nag graduate na yung mga ka kumpetensya ko nung high school, and then ako nag aaral ulit ng 1st year. I promised to redeem myself, and I will be a CPA Lawyer soon. God bless us all

Journalism graduate here. In turn, I help my law school friends to improve on their writing, lalo na sa grammar. Totoong may leverage ang pre-law mo but only to a point.
Keep up the good work Lex! Another addition to my listening playlist while reviewing for the bar. :)

Thank you for the kind words, sis. It's always an advantage to have good writing and speaking skills in any law school in the Philippines. I agree that at some point, magpapantay ang lupa. The only advantage that will remain is that obtained by those employed in a particular field of law.
God bless you and your bar review, sis. We are rooting for you.

    • @jessellemaminta7482
      @jessellemaminta7482 5 років тому +13

@@michaelfigueroa6960 first of all, don't call yourself bobo because that's self-hate, or so I believe. :) Second, it's good that you acknowledge your weakness, and that's a good place to start.
Now I'm going to assume here that you're not yet a law student so my advice is based on that. First, you have to figure out what are the exact points in writing that you need to work on. Is it bad grammar, spelling, or sentence construction? Then maybe you can start by reading up on English grammar topics, marami nyan sa internet.
Or maybe you don't know exactly how to put your thoughts into words. Then start a diary -- get yourself a spare notebook and write a paragraph or two each day. Make it a challenge by doing this for 30 days.
I would also advise the diary challenge, pero i-level up natin by writing only in English -- bawal Taglish.
Important tip when learning how to write well in English -- write as you speak. In other words, kung paano ka magsalita, ganoon din ang pagsulat mo. Meaning, simpleng words lang. Darating ka rin sa mga mahihirap na words as you go along.
Sorry, long reply pero I hope it helps. :)

Sobra po kase talagang weaklings ako sa english..mas magaling pa siguro yong first year high school.magcompose ng english kesa sa aken..ive done that before..essay pa nga sinusulat ko nun everyday..pero di pa rin siya nag improve kase ang hina talaga ng foundation ko ng english..haha..pati mga basic na would or could di ko alam..hehe..pero sa spelling ok naman..kaya sinasabi ko pong bobo po talaga ako sa english dahil doon..tapos lagi ko pa nakakalimutan ung mga words na appropriate minsan..

It feels good that I can still pursue my dream. I am a graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education - Major in Mathematics.
My ultimate dream in life will soon become reality. I was so sad and angry when my parents forced me to take Education since they're both educators. Despite that, I am still proud that I was able to graduate and managed to pass the LET exam even though my passion is not really into teaching. Now that I am free, I really want to study law and glad to know that I can be capable of being one. Thank you so much for the information.

    Thanks sa video na ito.
I am a graduate of Accountancy and what you said about it ay correct. Lucrative talaga sya after graduation and even after passing the CPA boards. We also have a decent grasp of Obligation and Contract, Partnership & Corpo Law, Negotiable Instruments, Sales and Credit, Taxation to which ay 2 of 6 subject in CPA Board. However, what bothers me is that my english vocabulary and communication skills (verbally) is very poor. I stutter every now and then translating words in my head. That thing kept me contemplating if I should pursue Law School, though I really want, but, yun another 4 or 5yrs of torture again. 😭
Hope you'll make another video on how to confidently conquer your english language skills struggles. That'll be a great help for people like me na hanggang written lang. 🥂
    All the best,
    Marnie

I am a cpa and currently a 2nd yr in law school, yung reading and writing communications ay mededevelop yan sa dami ng babasahing cases and sa books. And may advantage tayo pag dating sa critical thinking and formation and presentation of answers sa mga exams.

Kevin Mark Baui OMG thats a plus one to confidence. Would definitely pursue Law. By the way, are you working student or full time student? Is there a lot of pressure being a CPA and taking Law? I have a professor, who is a CPA Lawyer, he said that there's a lot of expectation sa mga CPA studying Law, is it true?

And yes, yung Business Law at Tax pwede mong maging edge since naaral mo na.

Hi, Atty! It's me again. I commented on ur prev vid. 😁 My pre-law course is actually med lab sci but I had a vision of pursuing law even before college started. Nobody forced me to take up the med field. Just that, I love to be in both med and legal fields. I'm kinda anxious of the adjustments as what you also told us sa vid. Self-doubt is honeslty kicking in, but I believe this is a leap of faith. Thanks for the vid, Atty, as always. All the best.

Their work comes sporadically but when they accept cases, it usually rains champagne. 😊💯🍾

I just passed the Criminologist Licensure Examination. I was torn between enrolling to Law school or to pursue a Master's Degree. I have met a lecturer who is at her 4th year in law school during my review days and she strongly recommemd for me to just go for law school.
I remembered her saying that it's hard but at the same time it's fulfilling. Criminology has five law subjects, we almost mastered the revised penal code. We have evidence and procedure subjects.
It might be shallow but try studying that along with investigation subjects and criminalistics. Our law professor also gives us case digests for homework. She gives us minimum of 10 cases depends in her mood.
Very informative ng video. Nakaka inspire lalo haha. Sana matuloy ko yung law school.

I am thanking your channel Atty. Lex for the knowledge you have imparted for us to be the best possible self we can be.
I do fear taking law school for how many years after graduation as I asked myself if it was really my calling to be a lawyer or was it due to the fact that it is practical and in line with what I have taken sa undergraduate years ko. After a few years of working in the legal field It has come to my heart the value and importance of having a lawyer that is eager to help the community and that touches me.

Just like the other engineering graduates, I am also afraid to go to law school because of those cons that you mentioned.
