Hello i tried to update maps on audi a8l mmi 3g+ i selected user defined mode and go and select all the options on the list to update. I didn't tick bootloader only the seconds one , start update, after some time it shows me error code,, database gdb:0 error.code 140 , i click skip this device. After some times unit reboot. Not when i click on navigation it says -- initiaizing navigation please wait. And it stuck there , after 1 hour i try to reboot and it shows a loading bar to 45% and it goes away
remove database and partition via green menu and try install again.. you might need also to change the SD CARD.. or when you will see again that error then select retry instead of skip.

Hello! After installing the activator, should the map card be re-inserted and remain in SD 1 at all times? And if I can drive while the maps are being installed. Thanks!
nope. only once for activation after that you can eject sd card. You can drive & updating the maps.

możesz użyć karty o pojemności 64GB, tylko musisz sformatować ją do FAT32. Windows domyślnie nie posiada takiej funkcji - ale możesz użyć innych programów jak np,: www.easeus.com/partition-master/format-sd-card-windows-10.html
Why can’t I send them to the fat32 sd card because it says on fat32 it only supports 4gb?
MMI might not read that low SD.. I have tested multiple sd sizes and only from 8GB up to 64GB.. for newest Europe map need 64GB sd formatted as FAT32.
Does one really need to delete the database and the partition before updating?
yes and no.. by removing database you will avoid information about problem with no space on MMI HDD.
I have an A6 4g, do u have a way to update my maps without paying a fortune to audi

Only mmi 3g high and plus. In 2017 a4 you got Mib unit which is different.

I did the installations and activation and i still get "the navigation data is not available". What do i do from here?
have you fully rebooted MMI after activation? (three buttons combination)

@@dodga100 when you installed the maps, have you selected all options on AUDI_MMI3G_ECE ? maybe you just removed old nav database and new one has not been installed?
Can i revert it back to factory settings if i screw up?
there's no option to make a backup, but if something failed during update it will not brick the unit.. will need to repeat the update procedure.

you want to make maps update from DVD? on mmi 3g plus / high update will not fit on to DVD i'm afraid
