- This is the best backyard chicken coop that you will ever find, in my opinion. When we first started with chickens we scoured the internet for plans. This was 15 years ago. We ended up finding some plans and we have been building them ever since. At that time I did not have many tools but I decided back then that I would go a head and purchase all my tools necessary and committed to build more coops to sell in order to recoup, no pun intended, the money spent in buying tools. We have loved building these coops so much, we normally would build one or two a year and sell them locally. Since posting this video I have looked all over the internet for the guy I bought my plans from and I can not find him, to give him credit for this design. Grant it I have changed a few things on his design. However I will give credit to:
Michael Tutay designer of the "Chick Chalet"
If I had a link, I would share so you could purchase his detailed plans, however this has been over 15 years ago and there is no telling if his website is even up, I can not find him. He was just a small scale website from what I could tell.

Note: (If you find your chickens wasting feed from using the 45 degree slip fitting, then you may put a 90 degree fitting instead)
