I got a folding bike from decathlon and it's so easy to move it into building (elevator) and train/buses. very happy with its usefulness in a city
I got a folding bike to tow my canoe up to the boat launch, float down the river and tow my boat back.
friend had one and bought it for long distance bike tours but he did the folding thing because he wanted to be able to easily fly it when needed. The last tour he did was from seattle to lousiana. Me, i hate riding small wheeled bikes so the bromton is not the way.
There’s a Montague Boston full size single speed folding bike I think you’ll like.
I love folding bikes
I have a Zizzo, which is on the lower end of the price range but still decent quality. I do the multi-modal thing with bike+bus, and I don't have to worry about bike racks being full, and yeah not having to lock my bike is great, but the best feature is the knowledge that if I get stuck anywhere I can call an uber or a friend and it'll fit. It is a bit more work on hills than my hybrid bike, but otherwise it feels mostly like a regular bike. Bromptons and Tern BYBs fold smaller, and get better parts, but cost a lot more. Tern also has some other higher end folders and cargos, and Montague is an interesting brand if you want a full size foldie.
My next bike will be a folding e-assist bike. I've been looking at the Bike Friday bikes.
What saddle is that on your bike? It looks nice and light with a nice cutout for the delicates. You should do a video on bike saddles. That would be interesting to hear your opinion.
Not my fastest bike for sure but when combined with a car, bus, train my Brompton gives the farthest adventures.
A folding bike is obviously more compact. Why do people buy anything that's compact and portable?
What gear ratio do you normally ride on your single speed?
Heavy clunky junk. Will fall apart in less than 10 years. Not worth the $
