Vector summoning Durbe and Merag's Chaos Numbers against Nasch is the Yugioh equivalent is pulling out corpses of your loved ones and trying to beat you with them. The dude was unhinged.
Nasch Vs Vector was sensational, was a shock when I realised Yuma wouldnt deal the final blow to Vector. Scene at the end was emotional. Also so happy Spectre Vs Lightning was so high on the list. Think Marik Vs Bakura is brilliant, but not the best for me either.
My favourite villain vs villain duel is definitely Vector vs Dumon and Marin because of how good it was and how Vector was pretty much trolling his opponents the whole time while Nash couldn’t do anything but watch. It was such a good duel but I like the other duels mentioned in the list too
In my opinion, Adrain vs Yubel is the best villian vs villian duel, one of the best duels in GX and has one of the best moments of the franchise. Hearing Yubel’s perverse definition of love (suffering for the one love is how she perceives love) while questioning if Adrian genuinely loved Echo or just manipulated her love for him so he can gain Exodia’s power is a brilliant dialogue exchange between an emotional detached sociopath in Adrian and a pain loving yandere in Yubel who believes suffering for the one you love is the true meaning of love. A beautiful scene. Her voice actor really went all out on the emotion in this scene and my god is the music amazing. I still think Adrian is a compelling side villian who’s really underrated that I wish we saw duel more which has often been one of my big unpopular opinions. Anyone agree?
I think I saw your comment on the UA-cam Video of Amon Vs Dark Johan (Yubel) 😅. You're a big fan of this duel and rightly so, it's one of those slow duels but I loved the tone of it, the silence in certain parts of the duel or very faint OSTs in the background made it ominous, fitting for two Psychopaths. I think the top 6 are really close so dont worry too much, the duel is massively appreciated.
You’re right. I did take parts of my comment from that video into this one here but I just wanted to really express my love for that duel and that one scene in particular which does make it a top 10 GX duel for me. If I made a list of my top 50 YGO anime moments, that exchange between Adrain and Yubel would definitely be on there. There’s just something I really loved about it. Yubel is an amazing villian and despite how many people hate Adrian, I do think he’s a cool side villian. If he got more duels and character study, he might have gotten more love and appreciation as a villian. I’d be interested in seeing where Dylan would put this in his future ranking all GX duels vid.
I concur both on this duel being stupendous and Amon/Adrian being one of the best side villains in the franchise. The dueling action is as grand as it gets (Exodia vs. Sacred Beasts), but I concur the real gem of the battle is when both have used up their initial grand tricks and it becomes a chess game where Amon needs to keep Yubel from figuring out he's trying to get Exodia back, with the dialogue doing a great job of bouncing Yubel's definition of love and goal of being with the one they love forever off Amon's willingness to sacrifice everything for the perfect world he wishes to create. It somehow highlights both characters' humanizing attributes while also emphasizing the monsters they are at that point in the story. Just fantastic stuff. Definitely wished Amon/Adrian dueled more. Seeing either more of his Cloudian deck or more tricks of his Exodia support would have helped emphasize his danger even more. And I admit, I do find the introduction duel with Chazz to be very underrated in its own right, with his breakdown of Chazz's pride in the struggles he'd gone through being a great beat in the latter's character arc.
the funny part is, had amon gone first, he wouldve immediately one as the top card in his deck was the last peice of exodia and back then you draw if you go first
Aporia vs Z-ONE was always my favorite just because of the brutal ending. Aporia literally put his faith in the heart of the cards and when it failed, Z-ONE basically laughed at him and said it was inevitable. It felt like an extra punch to the gut that the card Aporia drew that lost him the duel was the one that represented the entity that drove him to despair at three different points in his life: Mechlord Emperor Granel.
I'd like to imagine both Aporia and Mizar knew they wouldn't win, so instead helped the heroes (Yusei/Yuma and Shark) know what to expect from the villains respective deck, without the knowledge, I wouldn't say Yusei would've attacked a Timelord but he had no reason not to
One villain vs villain duel I would've loved to see was Yubel/Jesse vs The Supreme King. Not Jaden using the power of the Supreme King, but the Evil HERO using Supreme King. Yubel was always after Super Polymerization when she was the villain, and the Supreme King was the one who had it. Pretty sure Yubel would've had to use the Sacred Beast deck, as I'm fairly certain Evil HEROes would easily wipe the floor with Advanced Crystal Beasts, but it would've been an amazing duel
Completely agree with the duels in the top 4, but now sure on the order. Mine is probably 1. Nash vs vector 2. Adrian vs yubel 3. Lightning vs specter 4. Bakura vs marik.
With what happened to Sayer, I assume his soul got absorbed by Carly's Earthbound Immortal, so once it was defeated, like everyone else, his soul was released
Going with the loose definition of villain as "Opposing the protagonist", Kaiba vs Pegasus Sure Kaiba wasn't evil there (well, threatening to kill yourself if you lose a duel is pretty messed up) and he was forced to oppose Yugi/Atem; I'd still consider it as an honorable mention, solely due to having to be pretty loose with the definition
@YugiohEverything i would have included Kaiba vs Pegasus from Duelist Kingdom in this list. Kaiba was basically still a "villain" until after this duel (especially considering the way he "won" against Yugi right before this duel) when Yugi realized what Kaiba had at stake and vowed to save him and Mokuba. Zigfried vs Rex and Weevil would also have been good to include in this list (though Weevil was more of a villain than Rex in the long run). Vetrix vs Kite was another good duel that would fit this list. like with the Kaiba vs Pegasus duel, this duel also marks the point when a rival character went from "villain" to ally (plus it was Kite's only defeat in the anime). Barret vs Sergey from Arc-V season 2 is another one (though i think that one started off as Yuya vs one of those two and the other one butted in and took over the duel). Declan vs Barret from Season 1 of Arc-V would also then qualify since Declan opposed Yuya for sure in season 1, and Barret opposed Yuya in Season 2. Nail vs Asana in Sevens is a BIG ONE that should be in this list, even though it took place during the Goha Siblings arc, which is long after both Nail's and Asana's arcs. However, Nail can technically be considered a villain in that arc, and Asana had a villain streak as well (like when she butted in on the group's attempt to spy on Yuga and forced Roa to duel her). Otes vs Yuga Goha is another late villan vs villain duel in Sevens (unless you count the Swirls vs Otes duel at the start of the Goha Siblings arc, but Swirls/Yuga Goha wasn't a villain yet at that point). Jack Atlas vs Hunter Pace (the duel that took place in the middle of 5ds season 1's Facility arc) is another good one from 5ds as both were villains at that point, and would BOTH be defeated by Yusei in the Fortune Cup later in the season.
@@DengekiVRi love the original but very much a boomer take driven by nostalgia. Feel like overwhelming majority who say this have never watched the other shows fully
I think oppositions would have been a good wording too. Yugioh certainly gave us many good villain vs villain factions. The Nash vs Vector one is easily the best one! It kinda has 3 villains pitting against each other internally as while it is Shark and Vector dueling you also have Vector fighting with Don Thousand to be in control of his power and wanting to just cause destruction in his own and no one else. Crazy back and forth duel just one of the best in zexal and all of yugioh!
Nash vs Vector is my favorite because it's so rare that a non protag character wins against a villain near the end of the show. Nash winning that duel was a big win for him because he beat the character that messed up him and his sisters life up. I wish Revolver got that same treatment as Nash when he dueled Lightning instead of getting mistreated in that duel.
Nash VS Vector is one of my personal favourite duels from Zexal. In that whole duel you can definitely see how much Vector and Nash hate each other and how much Nash wants to make Vector pay for what he has done I’m glad that Nash won not only did he avenge his friends defeat but also brought Vector to justice for his crimes. It’s also ironic that Vector was defeated by not only Nash but he was also defeated by the very same monster that Nash used against him in the past he ended up evolving Number 73 into Number C73 to beat Vector.
Yami Marik vs Yami Bakura was soooo good. Not to mention the one-two punch of both Kenichi Hara and Takahiro Kagami in terms of animation quality. Lightning vs Spectre was cracking too. Also Billy Bob Thompson was a perfect Spectre as well and he really showed off how cool he was.
"Amon is just you know an asshole." I laughed so hard at this. Great list. While it's technically not a villain vs villain duel, I enjoyed Kaiba vs Pegasus. Come on, Kaiba was totally more villain at this point after what he forced Yugi to do. But yeah it's more rival vs villain.
I think the only reason they weren't put was because of Go Rush not being finished yet. I think Dark Meister Vs Zwijo gets in at number 6* but I dont think Yuamu Vs Yuna makes the list. I think we need a Kuaidul Vs Zwijo Duel, that would be an all timer
@@dancostello4872 I actually think in the show Zwijo is sh*t scared of Kuaidul, I remember when Kuaidul came back to life and Zwijo looked terrified, I think Zwijo beating Kuaidul or even maybe a draw that is an all time classic would be a good thing for the final stages of the show
Completely unrelated but I counted how many onscreen start to finish duels there are in GX which is from I saw was 134. I know duels that we only see from a certain point and not the full duel won't count. There are some that I think could qualify but I would need to put much thought into that. So when you rank every GX duel, you’ll have a rough idea as to how many they’ll be to watch and rank from worst to best.
I don't think Yami Marik took battle damage at all in that duel. Similar to how Yami Yugi never took battle damage against the Exodia rare hunter. Both took no battle damage and won. Marik vs Bakura was so insane, I'd put it at number 1 or 2.
You're correct, he didn't; he finished with 8550 LP iirc - his untouched 4000 starting LP + 4550 from his Joyful Doom Trap (which stole the ATK of Bakura's monsters' and added them to Marik's LP).
Yeah, I said it might not be only because the duel was only 3 turns. I think Dark Meister Vs Zwijo should have definitely been on the list, However the only reason they arent here is because Go Rush isnt finished yet
