I moved to Maine last year and found that allocated bourbon distribution is different up here. A couple of months ago, I purchased 2 bottles of Blanton's that were sitting on a shelf in a gas station for $68 a bottle. Success stories like that happen on occasion up here but are not common.
It is very unpredictable state by state. Glad you were able to score a couple of your favorites. Thanks for watching! We're building a community of bourbon lovers...sign up at the link in the video description. Cheers!
Was lucky enough to get Eagle Rare for 30 a bottle down in Louisiana I got two my wife got two I’m almost through a bottle have maybe three pours left it is my favorite out of the lower tier BT bottles. And yes Blantons is in that tier. I don’t hunt or camp or look for allocated bottles I’m a walk in and get a shelfer bottle kinda guy. And honestly if you spend more than msrp on any bottle you need help. It’s alcohol not some magic fluid that will make you better. Just saying and I liked your subs they are all very good bottles.
Great! Availability is regional and very unpredictable. I've seen a palate of allocated bottles show up at Costco on Facebook, if it's not a deepfake. We are building a community of bourbon lovers...sign up at the link in the video description. Cheers!
Last week we got two bottles of Weller 12 for $129 a piece. I can never ever find anything near the msrp you guys quote here on UA-cam. We’re almost halfway through the first bottle and if I ever see another I’ll pick it up, it currently our favorite here at my house. Never seen any other sellers if I do I’ll try them too. Cheers
Congratulations on the grab! It is an excellent pour. We're building a community of bourbon lovers...sign up at the link in the video description. Cheers!
Great video, I would never pay anything buy msrp, went to a binny's that I don't usually go to, found Eagle Rare for $39, glad I did. They limited you to one bottle.
Another case of the Buffalo Trace Craze. Glad you were able to snag one. Allocations vary and they are unpredictable. We're building a community of bourbon lovers...sign up at the link in the video description. Cheers!
Never been a fan of BT products, I've bought many brands in the last 50yrs. ER is the only one I enjoy but only mixed 50/50 with Benchmark full proof 😉. I'm a high rye mash bill guy who doesn't like Wheated expressions. Different tastes for different folks. Cheers 🥃 👍
You are entirely correct, different tastes for different folks. I'm a high rye guy too. I have quite a few ryes that I love. We are building a community of bourbon lovers...sign up at the link in the video description. Cheers!
Good for you!! I love Weller 12. Allocations are random it seems. Glad you were able to nab one. How do you like it? We are building a community of bourbon lovers...sign up at the link in the video description. Cheers!
Appreciate the criticism. It is hard to choose alternatives. But it is a risk I am willing to take. We are building a community of bourbon lovers...sign up at the link in the video description. Cheers!
@@schoolofwineandspirits I've just given up on most Buffalo Trace whiskies at this point. If I see them at a bar, I may try them. Other than that, they usually sit on the shelf because they're overpriced, or I just never see them. There are plenty of better whiskies out there that are readily available anyway.
@@Vortex1988 Totally agree. I love some of them but I just won't go out of my way to look for them anymore. Thanks for watching! We're building a community of bourbon lovers...sign up at the link in the video description. Cheers!
Everybody has their own tastes but I get it. I have been very disappointed in the past. I gave away and Angel's Envy Rye that I paid too much for because I didn't like the flavor. If I could humbly suggest, if you have something, give it away instead of pouring it down the drain. If you need someone to give it to, we are building a community of bourbon and spirits enthusiasts. Have to disagree, stagg is probably my favorite pour. Buffalo trace just needs to raise their prices and stuff would be easier to find. I really enjoy EC Barrel Proof, and it’s available, but at $100 bottle I’m okay passing on it. Same would go for stagg, Blantons etc if they just increased the msrp

Ha! Well, I need to do my research! I'm taking one for our team! It is a fair criticism but I bought most of mine for MSRP a long time ago. However, touche! We're building a community of bourbon lovers...sign up at the link in the video description. Cheers!

A supermarket near me just did a grand reopening with a lot of bourbon specials. They had a bunch of Weller 12 for $42. Yes I got one.

Offering up Buffalo Trace whiskies as alternatives to other Buffalo Trace whiskies is silly and counter productive.
