@@johnm8015 The other side is guns are extremely rare for the civilian populace, almost no street level crime happens with them. Its mostly organized crime that has them in the UK, so street officers for the most part don't need them.
However, yes, there can be a situation where an unarmed officer is killed by an armed suspect. It has happened, but extremely rare
the female cop that was held at gun point was actually alone the other cop that showed up was like 5 min away and could hear her screaming over the radio.

Just FYI Officer Tedesco was fired due to this encounter.... She had severe trauma and PTSD and the department basically told her to get over it or lose her job. Well she lost her job!
And yet the cowards in Uvalde still have their jobs and countless other crooked cops

I’m going to the Michigan State Police Academy on July 7 and the part at 6:46 roughly when Niko is talking, is exactly why there is a HUGE banner in the gym at the academy that says “when you choose law enforcement you lose the right to be unfit”
And I wish that went for EVERY police agency.
The pit at 109mph was because the guy was heading for a school that had just been released for the day. Kids all over the place

Usually in the UK, if a suspected is armed with a pew or a knife they usually despatch armed police, I've seen it a few times unfortunately lmao
Well that can only be affective if you see a knife or pew? Or if you aren’t aware they have a weapon? Aren’t there issues with police getting injured or killed by approaching suspects they aren’t aware is armed?
Point is having a weapon like a pew or pew pew is difficult, very difficult - I'm from italy for example and an average american one would think oh yeah, mafia and all that but I can't really remember the last crime with a pew that was reported on the news. It just doesn't happen, at least here - knives? Yeah, sometimes, but pews? Rare, super rare @micg7282

Can't necessarily blanket statement the UK.. On the GB Mainland officers aren't armed, only their armed response units are and specialists such as Counter Terrorism etc, where as in Northern Ireland all the officers are armed whilst still having armed response units (long guns) and our specialist units too.
Also that custody sgt, Matt Ratana was unfortunately killed that evening.
