Another smashing rock with an amazing view and a brownie too 😋...you've done it again Christine 👌 lovely...did I ever tell you a joke about a brownie 🤔 🤗....
Hi Christine, After your last comment I realised this was filmed 🎥 during your November trip. Grasmere cake features loud and clear. You were jammy with the weather. Last time we did Catbells we took the sharp decent, my knees are reminding me that was silly as we could see the last boat of the day to Keswick picking its way around the lake and realised we were going to miss it. That meant a long trek back around the lake. You live and learn. Thanks again for taking us with you. Cheers Graham
Thanks Graham, yes this one was also filmed back in November last year! Nice to hear you've made a trip up to the summit of Catbells and the walk around Derwent is usually lovely.. maybe less so if you've just climbed Catbells and was expecting a boat trip back!! 😊
Bugger. That was another video I meant to save until later but couldn't resist! It brought back memories of a past November walk on Cat Bells. Great that you share tips for local delicacies 👍
Oh dear, well I’m glad you enjoyed the video nonetheless & nice to hear you have fond memories of an autumnal visit to Catbells too 😊 & yes, some great independent spots for food in the lakes - good to support where I can!
Really enjoyed seeing that. Catbells is a wonderful viewpoint with the lake on one side and Newlands on the other. Just shows you don't have to get on the high fells to get the views. Well done, looking forward to the next one.
Another beautiful little hike Christine. Although Cats Bells has always been classed as a family friendly walk its still a good hike up from the lake but a belting little scramble. Last June we stayed at Littletown Town Farm for 3 nights stunning scenery of the Newlands Valley and Catbells summit clearly seen and so easy to walk from there. The Newlands round I did in two walks also. Dale Head, Hindscarth and Robinson from Buttermere and Cat Bells, Maiden Moor, High Spy and Castle Crag from Portinscale. Beautiful Hikes. Thanks for taking us along with you Christine and I heard there was a shortage of cake in the Lake District before Christmas. Apparently it was all in your rucksack 😂it does look yummy though 😋
Thank you Tony 🫶🏻 it definitely isn't to be underestimated based on its height, still awesome views from the summit! That's good to know, think I will consider splitting the horseshoe in two, unless this summer I get the chance to tackle the full route with a clear long day! Heard it's a beautiful route 😍 haha that could have very much been the case with the amount I was consuming for the period I was there!! So delicious so no regrets!
Smashed it again Christine! I did the Newlands horseshoe 2 years ago, parked in little town, up to cat bells, turned around then did half the horseshoe because I took a wrong turn! 🙄🙄😂
Thank you Rob, very kind of you to say ♥️ and that’s good to know, good map reading skills required for the horseshoe 🤣 hopefully I can complete on a beautifully long summer’s day this year!
Beautiful, colours so nice. Very relaxing Sunday morning watch. Thank you. Didn’t look too cold for you. I miss the spring and summer but winter walks are so peaceful and quiet. It's so good to be outdoors. Look forward to your next one.👋
Thanks Jamie - really lovely to hear 🫶🏻 Yes was fairly mild that day, actually got quite warm climbing to the summit! Definitely pros and cons to walking for every season, I am looking forward to the longer days though to enjoy sunset walks after work! Thank you again for the support, appreciate it 😊
A perfect way to end my weekend - I am now missing autumnal Forrest treks with those beautiful colours and simultaneously craving chocolate orange brownies (already googling a recipe…)
Another wonderful relaxing video showing spectacular colour and views, haven't been able to get out recently, work commitments and it seems to be the monsoon season here in Devon, thank you for sharing your out doors, glad to see you are doing well, take care
Thank you Andrew 🫶🏻 definitely been a stormy start to the year here too & haven't been getting out so much either but hopefully Spring will bring some sunshine and longer days for us to enjoy! Glad you enjoyed this video too, thanks again for tagging alone, appreciate the support 😊
I have done the Newlands Horseshoe but I broke it into two sections doing Catbells, Maiden Moor and High Spy about 4 years ago and Dale Head, Hindscarth and Robison about 2 years ago, with a friend, as she had not done them before. Despite it being a misty old day it was nice to see you got a clear summit and always such a nice view from Catbells and perfect place to have a brownie. Gorgeous colour in the trees on the wat down, cheers Alan
Thanks Alan for sharing your experience completing the horseshoe, definitely considering doing it in half if can't get a nice clear day in Summer with sufficient daylight hours! Such a lovely spot to take in the views from, really enjoyed it and ending with the woodland section was lovely - thanks for tagging along on this one 🫶🏻
How did you get Catbells so quiet? Newlands is a great walk. I'd recommend going up via Hindscarth, lunch at Dalehead Tarn and given you've done Catbells drop into Little Town after Maiden Moor.
Guess I got lucky on a weekday in November after a full month of storms! Thanks Colin for the recommendation, hoping to complete on a clear, long Summer's day & will probably take your advice and drop down before Catbells 😊
Catbells is such a great walk with beautiful views over Derwentwater, one of our favourite walks in the Lake District in the summer months
Another smashing rock with an amazing view and a brownie too 😋...you've done it again Christine 👌 lovely...did I ever tell you a joke about a brownie 🤔 🤗....
Thanks Andrew 🫶🏻 Definitely wasn't a bad spot to stop & enjoy the brownie (and the view)! Nope don't think I've heard this joke about a brownie... 😊
Another captivating video, you certainly have a gift for capturing the natural beauty of the landscape. Thank you 👍
Thank you so much David, really kind words & happy to hear you're enjoying the videos 😊
Great video with vivid autumn colours.
Thanks Ashok! The autumn colours were immense last year in the Lakes, always my favourite time to visit 😊

Lovely moody scenes and some great colours, nice to know sunnier days are round the corner though ☺
Thanks Dan, can't wait for Spring either - love the transitional seasons, the colours are the best and longer days to enjoy sunsets after work 🙌🏻

Thanks Graham, pleased to hear you enjoyed this video & definitely, Catbells is an excellent vantage point with relatively little effort required 🙌🏻 😊
I do love this walk. Even though it's so popular, the views the entire route are beautiful. Looks like you had the mountain to yourself ❤
It’s a great walk, even if it is so popular and accessible! Luckily much quieter in winter on a weekday! Glad you enjoyed the video ♥️
The views from CB are super stunning|!!!!!!
They really are incredible - beautiful up there! 😊

Newlands horseshoe is a nice walk, needs good weather though. This was a nice episode, thanks.
Thank you, lovely to hear you enjoyed ♥️ & yes, definitely saving that one for a beautifully long summer’s day I reckon!

What a place, what a beautiful atmosphere! You nailed it once again!
Thank you Ervin ♥️ the Lakes are such a stunning place, really lovely to hear you enjoyed this one too!
I would do the circular in summer It can be a long hike after highspy there is a big steep climb up dale head and fairly harder going just after.
Thanks for the recommendation, hoping for a beautifully clear day this Summer!

Great walk loved it when I done it thanks for sharing it with me ❤ stay safe Christine xx
Thanks William, glad you've had the chance to enjoy this walk too - it's a beautiful one! 🫶🏻
