I find it fascinating that this Hermes delivers his lines in this song in the same way that one could often hear from a passionate reverend in a church; especially in the later lines, he almost "preaches" them like he's giving a sermon. It's a very intense choice, and while I don't necessarily love it in this instance, it seems like the sort of thing that could be worked into Wait For Me well with the right direction, since the number IS an intense one!

absolutely agree i saw him last week and was blown away, jordan fisher is great in the role but im glad i got to see Chibuzeze live! he brings such a specific energy to the character that i think makes you root for orpheus more
I saw this exact cast yesterday and after the first act I couldn’t get out of my seat. Everyone in this cast was so absolutely amazing, and when the walls moved I think I blacked out.
I love this musical and this song so much. I only wish this song was the end of the first act instead why we built the wall. It ends with such an amazing energy

I actually walked out on Wednesday. They have really camped up the show. I loved the obc and the first tour cast was ok. This orpheus was out and his replacement wasn't a strong singer. Eurydice was good singer but bad actress. Idt anyone could ruin Hadestown for me.
I saw the show with Nathan Lee literally just yesterday and I can agree he was a bit much. I still really enjoyed the show but his voice was so much higher than I had been expecting. Overall he still did a really good job but was definitely my least favorite out of the cast I saw
He sounds a lot less forceful and more innocent than jordan/reeve, which i think is really nice for the parts where ensemble joins him like here and epic iii. It puts less emphasis on him, but it sounds like the song itself is coming to life.
I saw this performance!!!!!! It was so good oml my first musical ever 🥲 I’ll never forget this and all the recording I find on UA-cam will never do these singers justice fr. They’re all so good
Cast change doesn't happen until October! Nick originally left early so Chibueze became principal early, it seems that's going to keep happening! Chibueze has also been with the tour for 2 years so he probably has more opportunities to do by this time :))

Lmao, the lights are perfectly safe for thr audience, actors on the other hands it can depend (3 different Orpheus's have been hit with one lmao) but yes if they stood up they would he alright! :)

Saw him in Salt Lake last August. He was so good and brought an extra sense of innocence to Orpheus. Loved him.
This cast is amazing. Amateur videos really warp the sound and doesn’t really demonstrate how amazing they really are.
