I also did something stupid and I never changed it in regards to keybinding. I played Holy Paladin for many years and managed to get to Gladiator two times in MoP (quitted the game in WoD) and I always clicked my targets. The only exceptions were Alt for casting at myself, and a mouseover macro for setting a Focus. I also left the C key bound to Character overview, never changed it. As melee DPS I also had to click targets as I changed the tab key to Insignia lol - still got to duelist tho!

Great video, personally I have given up on competitive pvp. Battlegrounds are still fun but I am pushing 40, no longer have the time or the mental capacity to pvp at high levels anymore. Brain just doesnt fire like it used to, hard to react as quick as these young guys can, and now theres so many skills its almost impossible to remember all this shit lol
charge and hamstring causes absolutely 0 problems, the moment i macrod it together ive never noticed any difference and literally frees up 3 binds, cause you can macro it into a focus charge and focus hamstring together. you can only hate on it if you never tried it
I truly hate that some tmogs are locked behind pvp. The priest set is so beautiful but i must play pvp now or i will never have a chance of obtaining it again... Us pve players never have to worry about that. Can't imagine how miserable it must be to be mainly a pvp player and have to deal with this all the time. Genuinely the first time i ever considered boosting. And of it wasnt as expensibe i would.
Skill capped, can u please do a deep analysis Positioning breakdown video? So many games are lost because of poor positioning, and dmg and cc are also benefited by good positioning. Please break it down for us.
Ive been playing wow since 2005 and my guild just talked me into pvp yesterday. Thanks for the information. im also playing a DH no matter what. I dont need to be the best just want to have fun with a class i love.
Everyone complained about the AWP when I played Counterstrike, and some servers banned them. Too much power for the range was the argument, but it was like the Golden Gun in Goldeneye, you can only fire it once and then it has to reload.
I don't care what you say, most people arent streamers, awc competitors or gladiators. If you gotta reroll to play the most broken classes and comps every season that screams desperate for validation to me. You're like a sports fan whose favourite team to support is whoever is winning at this particular time because you think it makes you look good by association. The counterstrike example would make sense if guns were rebalanced every couple of months, and you had to invest weeks of levelling a character + several days of setting up your UI, binds and macros etc just to play a class you don't enjoy as much. There's a fundamental difference between having your classes time to shine, and dunking on everyone else because you play the most broken shit every season. What makes it most annoying is that it almost forces everyone else play like this as well, or just suffer as a minority on a class they actually enjoy. God the worst part about a r1 player having a stupid take is that half of them now feel validated
I do wonder why it is that other companies including Blizzard themselves haven’t really attempted to implement the complex scripting and configuration system that’s featured in WoW.
I wish they would take like abilities and change how they are displayed on the recieving end to help with identifying threats/CC. Like if a druid was casting Entangling roots on the recieving players screen under their name it would just say they were casting "hard cc". Or if it was a slow it would be "soft cc". Keep the flavor from the casters perspective, but clean up the unformation on the receiving end
Nothing wrong with charge hamstring, charge in 3.3.5 had a min and a max range so unless your target is farther than 5 yards ( which would be too far for a hamstring anyway) you would just charge. Bajheera used this macro in 3.3.5 and so did I and it works well. Otherwise great video!
that apm counter is not real actions per min its counting everything he does like spamming keys when hes cant even use them etc, not have 200+ apm in wow arena like how APM is used in Starcraft or any other game. We had someone the other day trying to say that wow apm is higher than that of a game like BDO where just 1 skill input takes like 3-4 actions. So when lookin into it the APM counter that he was showing as an example which was this one was counting every action he was hitting wheather it was usful or not. So just smashing your keys so you can use them as soon as they are up (which would normally be 1 action maybe 2 since it only takes 1 action to activate a skill) it turns into like 10 actions bc of the spam slamming on the key whe its close to GCD
9:33 Is there a video I can watch or post to read more about these class styles? Breaking down melees into brawlers versus tacticians (and ranged, etc.) is interesting.
I’m a longtime player, pretty casual these days, but a beginner arena goer. I’m playing a holy Paladin and have finally got 1401 rating after weeks. Healing is so frustrating and people are mostly nice but I’ve had some really mean things said to me lol. I think I’m around 50% win/loss. I’d really like to get to 1800 for the classic pvp transmog but I’m losing hope for that haha. I e spent most of the time bouncing between 1200 and 1300 with a marked difference in the 1400 bracket.
I really love PvP and am not a Rank 1 or anything close. I understand that. It does make it very difficult to enjoy PvP like RSS, when after the first round you get killed, use every CD to stay alive, but the healer who just did half as much healing as the opposing healer says “Braindead Ret” and then you get marked as the Go target every round. The next 5 rounds are full 3 man bursts of trying to overwhelm you, your healer not being able to handle the huge burst on you, and your partner essentially AFK’ing because at least THEY aren’t the turnip punching bag this time. It’s hard to learn anything we when you have BM hunters and Demo Warlocks in a 1500 bracket who just immediately pop everything and there are literally 20 mobs on the screen from all their pets. I feel like you almost have to rank up beyond 2k to actually get to opponents who do anything but “blow every cooldown immediately and hope someone else dies first”
This is a comment for those who think arenas are just chaos and have no idea whats going on. The most arenas you do, the more you'll get used to what it going on. Look out for moments when they pop offensive cooldowns and react accordingly with your partners. some people will pop all thier shit in the beginning. some will wait for them to do it first. your initial goal is to get them to use thier defensive cooldowns with out popping your offensives by working as a team. Save your kicks and stuns for when you can garentee the kill. gl hf.
i still feel that even with the least addons apply, this game is a nightmare to understand everything is happening in a 3x3. I wish wow didnt allow any addons at all
Now that I'm old, and have never been good at arena, in spite of playing WoW since 2004, I find myself wondering if it's even worth putting in the effort to get good. I have the better part of two decades worth of bad habits to unlearn.
The Macro issue is actually what got me not to use complicated ones The charge and Hamstring is really the thing I pointed aswell when I was doing PvP in December 2022. What if I havent killed the target and hes still in range but I cant cast hamstring because I cant rotate Charge...
As someone who is just trying to get into pvp. This still felt very overwhelming. I want to play it but trying to have different add ons and hud setups between pvp and pve and different talents and such makes it feel impossible.
Even if the noobs watch this vid they are still clueless because arena is too fast paced to understand whats going on and there are too many abilities to learn the optimal rotation for max dps. Same goes to the arena stream viewers; they only notice when someone dies, everything else is just a pure chaos. Only rank1 glads are still playing arena because it literally took their whole lifetime to learn the game.
Back in the old days TBC and Wotlk we just grinded games 18 hr/day with my teamates and eventualy got Gladiator, its just Play a lot of games you eventualy get there if you keep griding. There is no way in hell you wont learn something this way, maybe not effective as much but still it gets the job done.
I'm a piano teacher and comparing your pedagogy and mine is very interesting. The low hanging fruit of improvement HAS to be practicing keybinds and imagining setups against target dummies. I'll go further and say, if you can find joy into perfecting your mechanics vs target dummies, then you won the game. It is possible to have more fun as a beginner than a rank 1 player, if you're locked in a state of flow and enjoying the process of making your actions clean vs a target dummy you might be having more fun than high ranked players stressed to the tits full of cortisol playing their life for a weak hit of dopamine (due to hedonic adaptation). Your rate of progression will be much more fullfilling than that of a pro. I'd even recommend giving up the grind once you plateau, unless you want to make money out of it, and switch to learning something else... like, the piano ;)
After 15 years in Wow, I’m trying to learn 3v3, but can’t find people to play with, and Soloque is just so toxic and random, that it doesn’t seem possible to keep wanting to improve to end up with those toxic animals in the end.
Im new late in season...so where do beginners go? Random Bgs are equal to trying to run a M20 as soon as you hit 70. Do you have to by carries or just get trashed for even showing up in a BG? Gear mean everything right///10 item levels is 100% stronger according to blizz. Is there a starting bracket for new players? Wonder why pvp is not growing..
i like the other guys voice but i can get kinda annoying hearing the same guy again and again just like everyone. so its rly nice that this guys is here even tho its just for a bit
PVP was great until Cataclysm, I haven't played WOW going on 9 years now. The way I learned besides learning my characters skill sets, I studied every other classes abilities and focused on how to counter those abilities by the abilities I had for my character whether offensive or defensive. Seemed to work out pretty good for me, especially in world pvp. Once they started nerfing pvp gear and started buffing pve gear they killed world pvp and made that gear pretty much only viable in pvp arena, but even then people with less skill wearing maxed out pve gear in pvp arena became harder to kill because Wow allowed set bonuses to gear to be active. Wow during vanilla up to Cataclysm was the best times to play WOW.
@macarrony123 Facts, and if you didn't play back then you will never know. I did come back and play Mist of Pandera and some of Shadow lands, and yeah I'll stay with my original comment, it sucks. Don't get butt hurt over something said.
It literally drives me insane. I’m new to wow and I’m playing rated arena for 3 days now, I’m sure I’m not gonna reach anything beyond combatant 2. It’s so fucking frustrating. All these addons and tips won’t even improve your gameplay by 1% as a new player if you don’t know every class and every spell. There are too much spells for every class it drives me completely insane. I don’t even like playing most of the classes, so I don’t want to spend like what 20-30 hours just to get comfortable with 1 SPEC. Just imagine someone starting with league, you can look at the champions abilities in launcher, read the item descriptions get comfortable with the game within a week and start improving your micros. You don’t need any yt videos, no addons, mods, whatsoever. Why isn’t there something like this in wow? I’m currently learning the Spanish language and I can tell you with confidence learning a language is by far easier and more relaxing than getting started with wow arena pvp it feels like fkin work. It’s the most exhausting thing I ever started in gaming and as much as I love the game all this shit combined with the people blaming me for BEING A NEW PLAYER. I can’t improve in arena skirmishes because the rewards are so bad I still need to improve my gear so I need conquest. It’s a never ending loop of frustration
dude i'm a piano teacher and i keep telling my friends who are heartstone legends / speedrunning games / master in LoL that learning the piano is 100x easier xD and more fulfilling... I guess this realization is what will keep the "video game epidemic" in check. The effort/reward just plateaus hard at some point, especially competitive games. I've found in general aiming for non zero sum games (like pve or building something in real life) is much more fulfilling and easier than 0 sum games (like pvp or real life sports). Humans are some of the toughest nutsacks on the planet (especially when they decide to put their whole time and energy into it) so it makes sense that trying to beat them is gonna be a pain in the a.. xD
I want to point out that fox marth is a terrible analogy for what you said since the matchup is arguably 45-55 .mang0 just won due to being mang0. Also melee is a game where tier lists don't matter until you are a top 100 player. The game is too difficult and unbalanced so a roy (bottom tier) could win a huge tournament as zain did during Covid.
I'd like to know what I'm supposed to do as a mage in solo when you have a not so good healer and your other dps is off trying to kill the healer while I'm getting 2 v me with no cc/peels/help.
Never been much into pvp for the amount of time I played. Tried it in DF season 2 and was told that I suck at the game and that I need to quit playing. That was only playing on my second game if solo shuffle.
I would argue that this is not a beginner video. A beginners problem is "i tried pvp and instantly got killed". I play wow since cata and i don't understand why i constantly attack an enemy without him taking serious damage and then i die in an instant. I don't understand why a press all my cool downs and the enemies health bar still doesn't go down. I don't understand why i can't barely keep myself alive in pvp with my raid geared healer while the enemies healers seem invincible. Noobs like me drop out of pvp long before we worry about how to change our pve keybinds for pvp. Wow pvp just has no good ingame feedback about what you are doing wrong. Your target dummy / pve boss damage doesn't seem to matter in regards to how fast you can kill someone in pvp. While pve mechanics are easily telegraphed so that you can easily discern if you should run away or keep attacking, there is no such thing in pvp. There is no plonk sound which indicates that im attacking the enemy while he is having a defensive cooldown active. Should i keep attacking him or should i run away and wait for his buff to run out ? I don't know. And the only way to learn is by constantly dying without having much fun. I was kinda hoping that this video would go over the basics because it would be cool to start getting a grasp of how to play pvp. But its so hard to get in to this thing. You can't even start learning pvp at lower levels because you either can't find a game or you run in to over optimized twinks which one shot you. So your only choice is to start playing with a max level character with a ton of buttons.
As an actual new wow player considering PvP, I find this an amazingly complex and prohibitively steep learning curve. Stuck to open world "end game" content and looking for another game.
wait for the new expansion and then start with pvp bro when somebody will be atleast at same gear, starting pvping in hte end of an expansion is always hard and not rewarding at all :D
I played on a laptop when i first started, so the f keys were more accessible, so i used f3 for trinket. Anytime someone watched my stream they were like what. the. FUCC. Is that. Also, i found spamming heroic dungeons when trying to familiarize yourself with an alt is good. You can practice on the dummies sure, but once you pick it up dont jump into pvp, go hit some some target dummies that move and kind of hit back.
I'm new to rogue playing a boosted toon and trying to figure out how to set up my action bars and key binds and this is difficult being new to rogue, coming back to wow after two years, and rogue having separate bars for stealth makes it really unintuitive. Please help
How to obtain elite PVP illusion in WOW 10.0 I obtained the Conquer Set from the NPC, but I want the illusion of elite PVP equipment, which looks cooler. I didn't find a way
Do you guys advocate for ESDF instead of WASD? To me it is just objectively better. If you're going for optimal keybind suggestions, its something to consider.
SDF And s = forward. No backpeddle button. It's never correct to backpeddle, the only thing I've heard in contest to that is that as a tank sometimes you want to back up a bit if mobs are spread and even then it's suboptimal but not in a consequential way.
does anyone has some tipos for casters at arena? 1 got 1400 at 2v2 but I'm always carryed. MY Shadow Priest simply cant take any damage, many times i got insta dead. When I try to position myself, there is always a rogue infinite stunning and comboing me, or and hunter giving me like 2 shots, ora warrior/DK that kicks and slows me, turning impomssible to run/heal/fear etc

The only exceptions were Alt for casting at myself, and a mouseover macro for setting a Focus. I also left the C key bound to Character overview, never changed it.
As melee DPS I also had to click targets as I changed the tab key to Insignia lol - still got to duelist tho!
My biggest problem is finding teammates who want to improve together.
Reach out to me, btag corpsegrind#1284
This is how i like skillcapped. The narrator is being himself and to the point. Not like the other narrator who clearly is pretending, high pitched forced voice and cringe unwanted jokes.
I'm assuming you are talking about Dan, who is the voice of Ezreal for League of Legends in NA. I wouldn't say he's pretending but I'm sure he's not as experienced in wow arena. He is a voice actor/actor/commentator so he is doing what he does lol. I actually like his voice when I'm watching league vids, its like Ezreal is showing me what is good for this patch! I think its very cool he works with/for skillcapped
Complex macros are a must as a Druid. Sooooooooo many specs, sooooo many binds.
Really cool video concept and you guys crushed the execution.
Automatic LIKE, just for mentioning the legend, RECKFUL.
Bruh the Shift + T at 2:51 got me for good 😂
insanely good video for beginners
Couldn't have said it better.
So many trues
the reckful shoutout
my old issue used to be staring at my abilities because i didnt have the muscle memory of when things would be up for my normal rotation

If I could start over I would main rog or mage, bullet proof success
learning a setup comp first does make everything more logical in pvp
This was a fantastically and beautifully made video, thank you.
That rank 1 world famous warrior is wrong then i guess
that apm counter is not real actions per min its counting everything he does like spamming keys when hes cant even use them etc, not have 200+ apm in wow arena like how APM is used in Starcraft or any other game.
Absolutely fantastic job on this video.
Life coach material. 🙌
Reck the legend! Thanks for the vid guys!
"Reckful was" Right in the feelz .... fkin rip
I love WoW for its complexity.
The Macro issue is actually what got me not to use complicated ones
The charge and Hamstring is really the thing I pointed aswell when I was doing PvP in December 2022.
What if I havent killed the target and hes still in range but I cant cast hamstring because I cant rotate Charge...
This was a great video!
Thank you!
As someone who is just trying to get into pvp. This still felt very overwhelming. I want to play it but trying to have different add ons and hud setups between pvp and pve and different talents and such makes it feel impossible.
I’ve been playing since bc and I don’t use addons or macros, you can see lay, learn and have fun without all that
Reckful
Awesome video! And really fun 😂
Thanks for the guide!
Thank you for creating this !!!
Step one: have a degree in nuclear science and astrophysics
Just curious as I've been watching some of these videos and I know they are older. Is the UI package still updated?
Best video in years 🤙
Thank you skillcap ❤
i have mount bound to plus sign and flying mount bound to shift plus sign haha
great video!
i like the other guys voice but i can get kinda annoying hearing the same guy again and again just like everyone. so its rly nice that this guys is here even tho its just for a bit
"G" is a hotkey I need to incorporate more.. do you hit it with your thumb or index?
With your tongue
Balls. You slap it with your balls
Why are you even watching this if you don't play wow? You don't even know what is going on in wow and saying wow used to be good and now it doesn't...
@macarrony123 Facts, and if you didn't play back then you will never know. I did come back and play Mist of Pandera and some of Shadow lands, and yeah I'll stay with my original comment, it sucks. Don't get butt hurt over something said.
@@Icybones000 lol "I haven't played wow going 9 years" then says it played mists and shadowlands... You know nothing...
I'd like to know what I'm supposed to do as a mage in solo when you have a not so good healer and your other dps is off trying to kill the healer while I'm getting 2 v me with no cc/peels/help.
loved the vid ! such nice work and car can't wait to see more 🙂
Never been much into pvp for the amount of time I played.
Fantastic video and stepwise guide ❤
i have 2,5bars gull of spells and now i schould make target 1 2 and 3 makros for each of them?
Please help
How to obtain elite PVP illusion in WOW 10.0
I obtained the Conquer Set from the NPC, but I want the illusion of elite PVP equipment, which looks cooler. I didn't find a way
what is the addons name for monitoring APM in game?
Palu made it. He got into a skill capped vid
It's so brutal to start late in an expansion or season. Everyone I run into has about 700k health and I have like 290k. Gee, I wonder who's gonna win.
Min maxing and metas is cheesy. Play what u think is fun and interesting and a challenge. Not the most broken thing in the game just to “compete”
can someone tell me which site they're using here 20:08 ?
They did my boy Snupy wrong on the information bloat 😂
3:50 so what is APM? They never explained what that is
Is it actions per minute?
Do you guys advocate for ESDF instead of WASD? To me it is just objectively better. If you're going for optimal keybind suggestions, its something to consider.
SDF And s = forward. No backpeddle button. It's never correct to backpeddle, the only thing I've heard in contest to that is that as a tank sometimes you want to back up a bit if mobs are spread and even then it's suboptimal but not in a consequential way.
We miss you byron, rest in peace brother.
Based skill capped
i don't play wow so my question is in wow combat system besides knowledge what are the others skills gaps in this game?
does anyone has some tipos for casters at arena? 1 got 1400 at 2v2 but I'm always carryed. MY Shadow Priest simply cant take any damage, many times i got insta dead. When I try to position myself, there is always a rogue infinite stunning and comboing me, or and hunter giving me like 2 shots, ora warrior/DK that kicks and slows me, turning impomssible to run/heal/fear etc
Lol love how I still have no idea what’s happening with the “minimal ui”
What’s the video from at 21:35
