- Have you tried stenciling with cake batter? I highly recommend! I use @indulgewithmimi 's deliciously soft patterned roll recipe ... definitely check her out! The trick here is to freeze the stencil for only 2-3 minutes (rather than the typical 10 minutes) in order to peel a clean stencil.

Hello! What did you use to connect the cut hearts?
Hi there! I used a tiny schmear of red icing between hearts, then once they were all lined up, I gave it a very cursory crumb coat using the same red icing! The final crumb coat was simply to fill in any gaps / bubbles, to maintain the heart shape throughout...it wasn't really necessary to hold it together!
