The song "Qaragym-ai" was created about 25 years ago. The music for which Kenes Duisekeev -whose photo is in the Backdrop on stage - wrote in his youth, has its own romantic and dramatic history. The Kazakh poet Shomishpay Sariev is the author of over 15 books and 300 poems and songs, including the lyrics of the song "Қарағым-ай" (Qaraǵym-aı). The poem was created approximately 25 years ago. He dedicated the poem to his daughter, who was getting married. The father puts his feelings into the text, his worry, how the life of the daughter with her groom will be formed, what awaits her ahead. Shares with daughter about the meaning of life. The poet argues that the most important meaning of life is Love. Life lived without love is empty. The poet asks: "All life lived without love is equivalent to one day lived in love?" It is always sad to leave home and cross the threshold of someone else’s house. That is why a bit sad moment to a daughter too. After all, the tears of the girl are not from grief, but only regret when parting with the native village, relatives.
This song was written for a young girl that died at 19, imaging her wedding day but not living long enough to see it come to fruition - Kenes Duisekeev was her brother.....it’s more of a lament. Dimash now sings it for the Kenes in honor of his passing from Covids this summer. Kenes Duisekeev was Dimash's professor and Mentor during his Masters program in Composition. Dimash completed and attained his Masters degree shortly after Kenes passed. Dimash is currently enrolled in a Doctorate program in Musicology since this fall. Dimash did sing this song in 2016 at the birthday ( 70?) of the composer, now he is singing it as a lament - song of mourning.
Here are the lyrics for you - Sorry not the best translation:
„Karagym-ay“ is best translated as -apple of my eye - and is used by parents to address their children.
Apple of my eye, The beauty should be in this way
It lands to a head without wishing People were visitors in life This world was actually short
Apple of my eye Gazelles were gushing like this Who can block you in your way?
    Why is this heart prouding?
To whom will this fate add you?
    Apple of my eye
You looked at by breaking and falling to pieces
How beautiful your pupils which are looking are!
    Apple of my eye
This life was passing by this way If you don't love,
this world was in vain If you stack all your life as pages,
Is it equal to one of your days you loved?
    Apple of my eye
You looked at by breaking and falling to pieces
How beautiful your pupils which are looking are!
Apple of my eye You looked at by breaking and falling to pieces
How beautiful your pupils which are looking are!

Here "Apple of the eye" should probably be translated as "light of my eyes".

Both Dimash and the pianist were students of the composer who passed away in July from COVID-19, this is a tribute to their professor/mentor/friend. Dimash asked the composer if he could sing this song at the celebration of his 70th birthday when Dimash was 20. The composer doubted that Dimash at such a young age could do the song justice emotionally. Anyway Dimash was given the opportunity to sing it, it was a very different performance to this (it is on UA-cam), since this is a tribute to his beloved professor, but the composer was extremely impressed with the emotion that Dimash brought to the song, (which was composed for his sister who died at the young age of 19) at age 20. Obviously, the composer became Dimash’s Professor of Composition when he was studying for his Masters Degree in Composition, which incidentally Dimash scored 100% on! Dimash is currently studying for his Doctorate in Musicology. During the COVID-19 downtime Dimash has also learnt English and was recently interviewed by MTV for the first time without the aid of a translator! He did absolutely brilliantly! I really enjoy your analysis of Dimash’s amazing voice. Greetings from England!

👉The 60th Qazaqconcert 2020 (TV broadcast) was also used for a memorial ceremony for the people who died of Covid-19. Dimash sang this song for his professor and mentor Kenes Duisekeev (photo), the composer of this melody, who recently passed away from Covid-19. When Kenes Duisekeev set the words of the Kazakh poet Shomishpay Sariev to music and composed this melody, he remembered his sister (one of 13 brothers) who died at the age of 19 before she could marry.
Sariev wrote the poem for his daughter, who got married and left the house. He wondered what her life would be like and wished her a life full of love. Life is short and without love it would be sad and empty. When Dimash sang this for the first time in 2016 (for the composer's 70th birthday), he interpreted it completely differently and the composer Kenes Duisekeev was overwhelmed: ua-cam.com/video/gHgoQRVVy5o/v-deo.html 🌼🇩🇪

Dunque niente acuti pazzeschi ne scherzi del genere. È tutto nell’emozione e nel dolore. E la lingua non è araba... Dimash è kazako, e canta in lingua kazaka. Pero’ puo’ cantare in 12 lingue, e specialmente molto bene in italiano : Ti amo cosi’, Olimpico, Passione, Confessa ecc...

Dimash is the best singer in the WORLD and there are no doubts about that, his voice is a prodigy of nature and a genetic marvel since his parents are two glories of singing from Kazakhstan since he was 5 years old, he sings publicly and has more than twenty years of lyrical training and graduated from the university of music, he is a singer, composer, arranger and multi instrumentalist, he plays more than seven musical instruments and sings in more than nine languages, he is also a great performer and a great artist who lives and feels music He is not an imitator of voices , Dimash has his own style and is one of the forerunners of the "Popera" he also has a very pleasant, Humble and simple personality, easy access, which makes it very easy to follow, he always travels with His family and friends is a very educated person and an example to follow, he has become known for his musical talent not for getting into trouble or scandals, he is a singer with a wide vocal range very versatile is Baritone, Tenor, Soprano, against Tenor, mezasoprano, everything at the same time is how to have 5 singers in one, it has a male and female voice, also many resources such as vibrato, "melismas", falsetto, Staccato, whistle tone, reaching a D8 live at the concert of Gakku in an unforgettable day, at his young age he continues to improve and grow musically to perfection, he has a good physical presence he measures 191 cm or 6 "3", he is very famous and recognized in Asia and now he is becoming known In Europe and America, ALL their songs are spectacular, it always goes from low to high, soft to spectacular at the end, in my almost half a century of life I never heard so much quality and it is the hope of continuity of the classical genre because all the old tenors have already Almost all of them died and Dimash can sing like them but none of them can sing like Dimash, being a Man he sings better than any Tenor and his female voice is superior to that of any average Soprano, greetings and a hug from Venezuela🇻🇪, "Dears" Forever ❤️👍🏻 Sorry for copying and pasting my informative comment in ALL the Video reactions to Dimash what I see but I do it with the intention of sharing information about him and what I think that in the music industry there are many artists who have been successful and have no talent and are bad people and they do not set a good example for the youth, Dimash and his music deserve to triumph in America, Europe and the whole WORLD, do you want to have already read my comment please come by without problem there is always someone who for the first time knows this information and I won't get tired of sharing it with all my friends. Roberto, am I selfish in saying that it is good to see you again, especially with Dimash? Something happens when his music is experienced by someone who recognizes his technical skill. And something even bigger happens when the soul is taken into a transcendent place by the intention and intensity of this young gift-from-the-universe-and-to-the-world! So, to experience YOU experiencing HIM is a gift to all of us who have been Dimashified. Your passion for the music, for really impactful music and musicianship is one of your gifts to the world.

The language is Kazakh, ite Dimash's native language, not Arabic.Kazakhs are a very musical people and you might like to find some Kazakh folk music to listen to, its incredibly beautiful. Dimash of course sings his countries music as much as he can as he is a very proud son of a horse, (Kazakh man) a term used to tell of the Kazakh mastery as horsemen, its was they that first domesticated horses.
    Qaragym-ai 60th Anniversary KazakhConcert
Not a new song but a new arrangement of Karagym-ai, you need to know the reason why he did this for the 60th Anniversary KazakhConcert. His professor, mentor and good friend Kenes Duysekeev died from covid-19 in July 2020, its his image behind Dimash, and Dimash was very close to him, very fond of him, so it hit him very hard. He wanted to do this as a tribute to him and to rearrange the song to show the respect Dimash had for this very talented teacher, composer, poet and very nice man. Kenes composed this song 20 years ago, and when Dimash first asked if he could perform this song when he was around 18/19 Kenes doubted that at such a young age Dimash would be able to put across the meaning and intense emotions in this song, so he asked Dimash to sing it for him beforehand. When he heard and saw how Dimash could absolutely put across the deep meanings and emotions he was very happy to give him the song to perform. This newly arranged performance is in my opinion a triumph, Dimash's perfect vocals are heartbreakingly beautiful and just having a piano, in a completely empty theatre was perfect ❤ it is terribly sad and Dimash transmits his heartbreak impeccably 😥

Caro Roberto! E ' bello vederti!

Dear maestro Roberto, your analysis of Dimash are so interesting and I always enjoy them, it is just a pity that they are so rare!
Do more Dimash please, you will be happy to listen to him during every his shockingly beautiful song and to see his skills; and we will be happy to listen to an analysis of the professional.
Please take Olimpico (Arnau version from the channel of Igor Krutoy or another version from Dimash Kudaibergen's channel, Passione from Dimash's channel) - you will hear him singing Italian (and heavenly beautifully!) These two songs were composed by Igor especially for Dimash, for his range and skills.
Further, you can find there Samaltau (a Kazakh song, very interesting with their national instruments; a prove that Dimash does not need to use his entire range to show his high vocal qualities), Across Endless Dimensions (rock soundtrack to a movie of an Italian director), a wonderful song Love is Like a Dream (originally a Russian pop song taken by Dimash to a galactic level), and his Kazakh video Qairan Elim (Dimash was a co-director, a very interesting and moving art - a prayer)... and many others.

You may know by now, that this is a tribute to one of his dearst friends, a professor, teacher and guide, that allowed him to sing a song he (the professor) had composed the music to. Dimash at a young age, had asked for permission to sing it. He was only allowed t after the professor had heard his version, the proffessor thought he was too young to be able to understand the nuances. But he gave permission and gave Dimash a standing ovation when he performed it up[blically. From that time on, they became great friends and the professor went on to teach Dimash. The professor asked Dimash to sing this song as a tribute, should he die of covid, which is what happened. You are correct when you say it is sad etc. His emotions are palpable. Having my so die at 19 years old, i find this song cathartic and emotional all at the same time. Thankyou for this wonderful reviews, I had really hoped you would review it. Perfect!!

The lyrics are beautiful with a meaning and he sings it in his native language. He sings it soft and gentle/delict with a lot of emotion and at the same time deep and powerful. It’s a tribute to his teacher and componist of this song who recently died. Dimash is the first young artists may and could sing it the way his teacher wanted and an honor for Dimash.
