Fantastic job Marinel, thanks so much for documenting the past and present lifestyles upon this incredible landscape. The opening vistas are breathtaking and captivating. The original music a soothing yet exciting pace taste of the local culture. The emptiness of these lands is so rich and calming.

Thank you! So happy you loved it. It was amazing to collaborate with the local Kazakh nomads to make this film happen and to share a slice of their culture and history.

Great job Marinel! KUHL is grateful for the opportunity to support this adventure in your role as our ambassador. Your example of choosing "unpredictable freedom" over a scripted life plan is truly the spirit in which KUHL was founded in 1986. The documentary is so well done. Congratulations.

A wonderful story, Marinel! I'm curious as to the stringed instrumentation starting around 8:42. Could ya detail it?

It's dombra folk music. In Kazakh nomadic cultrure, there's dombra music for every part of life - celebrations, migrations, setting up ger, herding etc... so we made sure to incorporate that in the film as a way to tell the story.
