I loved this story very much. I have spent a lot of time in Mongolia over the past years and totally honor their incredibly amazing culture. I have a large Kazakh handmade embroidered work of art in my room. It has years of traditional design and needlework woven into it. It is a real one with the same circular patterns and weaves on it. I am so grateful that I have it to remind me of the beauty of these lands and her people. I live in Australia. Thank you this film.
I am always happy and mesmerized watching your documentaries. These people are so strong and skillful living in the huge open land with extreme weathers. But I notice they never look unhappy. The young ones fascinat Me how they learn their ancient traditions. So much respect for them
Such amazing traditions. This way of life involves no weapons, no useless killing, its so beautiful the way these people respect and honor nature. I was so happy that they set the eagle free, but not surprised. I would expect nothing less from these amazing people. No better end for this magnificent creature. I am blessed seeing these people living so naturally with the land.
This singular & rare human documentary simply unfolds us to witness & perceive how intrigued & undiscovered our planet we reside still is depending on the different region of the world. I do have a respect for their way of thinking, culture & customs; for instance, eating its innards & meats in raw along w/ drinking its blood prevent them from the vitamin deficient diseases such as beriberi, scurvy etc., not out of their ignorance & savageness!!!, Cause there are no green vegetables & fruits available in such extremely cold & arid desolate barren regions. So do those Nenets people in Siberia. Thoroughly enjoyed & appreciated this valuable human documentary.,,,,,,Much obliged to you, SLICE, for the rare doc.,,,From Tokyo,,,,(04/09/22)
To imagine way back in our history, the human race was composed of many such groups, each developing its particular characteristics snd way if life to co form to their geography, yet all belong to the same human race.
Amazing to know and see in how different a way some of the humans still live. Didn't see any of the common material trappings with them but they didn't look sad or poor either. I didn't see a tv, cellphone, environment polluting autos, factories spewing CO2, scores of medications,, none of that. When humans live in harmony with nature and respect it, the 'mother' amply takes care. High time to throw away the blinding cloak of this 'modernity' which has wrecked humans and this pearl of a planet.
The human race developed and multiplied and spread. The densely populated areas in the world live as thru developed to support the numbers. The Altai people, as you can see, live in a harsh area and their numbers are limited. Very different. Wr cannot live like that in great numbers.
@@shalevedna Sixth mass extinction is underway. Tells me that humans are definitely not doing something right, in fact not doing lot of things right. The lesson from Altai people is not for everyone to live like them but respect mother nature and live in harmony with her and each other.
Literally got chills as the boy releases the eagle & it took down the wolf. My husband & daughter are hunters & I know how a hunter feels when they have been able to be successful in their hunt. I especially liked how this was a collaborative effort & a coming of age right for the young man. American culture has denied young men & women of these very important group celebrations. It is a passing on of knowledge, culture, tradition, & also very importantly, responsibility in order for the tribe to continue on. It is no wonder why many American children are "lost" & take years to act grown up. Think of the trust the adults in this culture have for this young man - he is entrusted with the lives of the lambs & the death of the predators stalking them.
Such a majestic people. I was touched by how they live, raise children and borrow eagles from the roof of the world. Long may they live in defiance of the "civilised" world. "Civilised;" hah! Many who live in the cities think themselves civilised, but they take, take, take, give nothing back to nature. These people are more civilised than an entire city of the lowland people. Prosper in the highlands! Do not give in to those who would take your land and animals from you!
This is how people and animals should live. No depressions, suicides, mental health problems, real long breastfeeding for the babies, no strangers to watch your babies, toddlers, children while you are working for someone elses company, no much problems between men and women. Living with nature and seasons, with no concrete houses and fencess... Harsh life, in harsh weather, but self sufficient at a larger scale, living together with your family, who help eachother. Animals feel air, real light without living in cages, fences, dark buildings in their own urine, dirt, feaces. A life worth living together with the elements. A feeling of 'belonging'. I miss this simplicity, without car noises, screaming unfriendly aggressive people, hard music, fashion, tyrany of nowadays beauty and forever beauty products. We need to not be affraid of age. This people accept more getting old and never retire. They keep their value and this families are in all age groups living together. I admit...i would like to be born there and die there.

After seven years of bondage and slavery, the mighty eagle regains it's freedom and soars into the vastness of the blue Kazak sky, to heal the wounds of it's bondage and to live afresh free once again.
@Tandin Wangdi Slavery?! How could it be a slavery? Btw, there's no such a place called "Kazak. In fact it's "the blue sky of Mongolia". In the late 19th century many Kazakhs immigrated from Russia and China to Mongolia and in 1930-ies even more Kazakhs came to Mongolia. So the Mongolian government established a province called Bayan-Ölgii in Western Mongolia for them to settle down. Therefore they live under the blue sky of Mongolia.
