HUE, VIETNAM | History Lessons in the Old Capital - Part 1
Вставка
- Опубліковано 19 тра 2018
- Hue, Vietnam - the Countries’s old capital city. Hue is a beautiful city full of historical landmarks. We ran around the city exploring everything it had to offer between tomb sites, pagodas, landmarks, and urban decay. There was so much in this city that we had to split it up into two separate parts - enjoy our first of two vlogs on this amazing city where we see the Thien Mu pagoda, Ming Mang and Kai Dinh’s tomb sites, and get stopped to buy random things on the street. Stay tuned for the next episode where we will see less of the historical side and dive into the more decaying side of Hue!
Thanks for watching and as always, make sure to like, subscribe, and tell your mom - it would help me out tremendously!

Yeah, it is super cool! A favourite spot of mine north of that area was Sapa...and the Ba Cha market was out of the world then,...felt like I was in a scene from National Geographic.. Look forward to the next adventure.

You definitely have to go, if for no other reason than because you can stuff your face for $2 USD (with a beer for $0.25).

Watched and liked, continued support for your channel!
Thank you so much, that means a lot to us!
Hey! I just saw your posting of this video to the Expats of Ho Chi Minh City Facebook group. Great job! Those drone shots are killer! I like all of you informational story-times. I used to live in Da Nang, so I've been to some of these places in Hue, EXCEPT THE ABANDONED WATERPARK!! I can't believe I missed it! AHHHHH It looks awesome! But anyways, where are you guys heading next? 😃
You lived in Da Nang and missed the waterpark?! That is one of those things that everybody says is "such a secret" but it is now even labelled on Google Maps. It was such a fun experience, you'll have to wait for Part 2 to come out. If you're ever back in that area we highly recommend it, it is so much different from all of the temples and tombs we're used to. After Hue we officially left Vietnam and made it to Indonesia. Just culture shock after culture shock.
Cám ơn các bạn đã đến Việt Nam 🇻🇳 thanks
Awesome video
Hue is really cool, Vietnam really in general.
Awesome vlog, LOVED IT :D you've presented very well the city's landmarks in a short time !
Really enjoyed the cinematic shots ;) can' wait for what you'll bring next :)
( new friend here ^^) Greetings from Algeria :)
Thank you so much! We appreciate the kind words - we subscribed back to your channel as well :) Have a wonderful day!
Appreciate it :)
Have a great weekend 💐
excellent job
Thanks, D-tello. Can I call you D-tello?
Great job guys! Interesting and entertaining and we learned something too. Nice teaser at the end, we may have to come up with our own version of teaser for our videos. :) We hope you can read this, because we don't speak English either. LOL Thumbs up!
HAHA! 😂this made us laugh so hard, thanks for the thoughtful comment - the teaser just kind of happened because we started editing and we were WAY too long into it. The abandoned place absolutely wouldn't have been justified thrown at the end so it'll have a dedicated video soon. Good thing we have google translate or we wouldn't have been able to read this or reply ;)
Good video bro. I will watch more videos when I get off work. I subscribed from both my channels so you can get closer to 1000
Awesome! Thank you so much, we appreciate it! Whats your other channel? We will sub back!
its all good i don't use that channel for much
This was great especially after watching the bloopers 😬
The effort of saying Minh Mang will forever be a memory...
Returned to view another great travel video. A big Like 66
Thank you so much :) we appreciate it! Glad we can mutually support!
Lol sunglasses and marijuana Soo Beautiful the pagoda. Soo interesting too. Wow the history about that car. Amazing monuments. So much history. I love it!! 11 years to build wow. It’s gorgeous!! As always freakin awesome!!
Hue is definitely an interesting place. From the history, to the food, to the accessibility of sunglasses and marijuana...it's got a lot going on!
PS; Ming Mang is not 2 emperor of Vietnam , he just 2 emperor of nguyen dynasty , one of many Vietnamese dynasty and one of many emperor that rule Vietnam
This was a great watch and really good quality. Here from the #IAmACreator community!
Thanks so much Wayne! Appreciate you stopping by!
I love all, the drone footage it is so beautiful. You guys did a really good job with the history lessons. I learnt a lot and it was fun. Why did the monk set himself on fire?
So glad you enjoyed it! Our goal is to have a balance between educational, funny, and beauty so we're glad that's coming across. The monk was protesting against the Buddhist persecution by the S Viet government. He took a drastic stand and it definitely turned heads.
guys, thanks for this video, I really enjoyed it. Hue has a very unique cuisine culture, like every unique from other parts of Vietnam. if you're still in Hue, pls vlog more about the local food.
Btw, check out Bach Ma national park ( 40km away from hue center, on the way down to Da Danang, before Hai Van pass). the nature there is incredible. cheers.
Oooh that sounds great. We'll definitely have to do some research on that. And the food was one of our favorite things about Hue! I love that every part of Vietnam has their own local specialties, it makes it so we never get bored of the cuisine!
Gorgeous footage - are those your drone shots? What are the drone laws like in Vietnam? Great vlog!!
Yup, all the drone shots! We love the perspective it gives to these beautiful countries. Vietnam has pretty lenient laws for now, but I'm sure that will change with how popular drones are getting. Just have to do our research and make sure we get the necessary permits if we ever need to.
Cool
Thanks!
A wonderful city with beautiful architecture. Thanks for taking us along with you. Excellent video about Hue ... Thumbs up!
Thank you for your visit on my channel! I'm here to support you! 👍 I already pushed the red button! Thanks for sharing... full watched! Hope we'll stay connected :)
Appreciate you stopping by and giving us support as well, really glad about that! Thank you so much for the compliments - stay connected :)
“Don’t speak English” we always use that one! Haha awesome Vlog guys
"We don't speak English" as Aaron is talking in English to the camera. Loved their confusion haha, thanks as always guys, we appreciate it!
Your personalities are so cute :) The picture of the budist who set himself on fire is so crazy he seems so unbothered. But the buildings here are insanely gorgeous, great work as always guys!
haha thank you Chelsea! As always, we appreciate the comments - it's not our best vlog but we're excited to make the 2nd part of it. The fire buddhist is such a strong and inspirational story within the Vietnamese culture, it's pretty wild. Thanks for watching :)
Of course! Can't wait to see part 2!! :)
hah I like how that guy just casually asks you guys, marijuana? Hell of casual.. interesting vlog, I cant believe Hue is so close to Da Nang and I still havent been! Love the broll btw ;]
So casual but the funny thing is that we met a dude who bought some and he said it ended up being loose leaf green tea 😂The city is super close to Da Nang, we really loved the entire area. Definitely go if you ever make it back :)
Thanks for sharing guys... Do you have any issues flying over any of the sites in this video? Awesome job...
We have definitely had some issues in terms of no-fly zones, but we are smart and legal about it every time we fly. We've only got a couple drones, can't have them taken away!
Lol at the weird statue. Is that meant to look like that? I have no idea what the abandoned surprise is ;) lol at "no I don't speak English". I hate it when people try to sell me things too. I try to run off. I enjoy the history you're telling. It's great to learn about the places you visit, not just see how pretty it is. Did it take quite a few takes for you to explain it so well? I'd have been forgetting my facts, haha 😅Just followed you both on Instagram. Great content, guys!
Watching out of order, breaking all the rules. You rebel you! Glad you enjoyed, it does becomes super annoying to be asked to buy sunglasses 5 times in a 2 block span. It's not easy to get our history lessons down, you have to watch the outtakes to see how terrible we were in some parts of trying to nail it! 😜Awesome! We will make sure to follow back :)
I feel your pain! The worst I had was in Namibia I was getting harassed every time I pulled the car up and turned down everything they were selling including "guarding our car". I was then walking round the supermarket like "shit, maybe I shouldn't have turned that down" and ran back to the car. Fortunately it was still there! I'll totally check out the outtakes. Thanks for following my Instagram! 😁
Hahaha I can't say I've ever had somebody offer to guard my car before but if I do, I think I'll have to take it. Love the different experiences you get when visiting new places. It makes your life story just that much more interested!
Another great informative video, tfs#iamacreator
That's what we're trying to do, a balance between beauty and education!
Wow, looking forward to watching more of your Vietnam trip! Your non-English speaking is quite something😀👍
Adam is quite skilled at not knowing English! Thanks so much, we will have a few more out soon!
niice vlog stay connented
Thank you Mishrat! We will be stopping by your channel soon!
This is a really good and informative video guys. Great look around parts of Vietnam. Nicely put together video. New member of your community here :)
Thanks so much guys, glad we can mutually support :) Keep up the good work on your side!
Oh my country
dragon statue part was the best
Thanks Nabeer!
😱 great place n thank u guys fr the video 😍👌👍
Thank you! Glad to have you on our journey :)
Be wary of the "I don't speak English" gags as they could be perceived as offensive and it sort of came off as a dick move. People are poor and they just trying to make money. I've said my peace. Moving on, well-done guys! I appreciate the context of your current location via that nice graphic, I'd do that more often; makes your videos feel more legit. The Travel Channel narrating vibe was a refreshing twist from the usual two-guys-reacting-to-what-they-see-at-a-temple (that was running a little dry) so kudos for making the adjustment to your storytelling. I hope to see more videos in that same style because it will to keep me interested with each new vlog! Also, nice tease at the end. Man, that new camera can't come so enough! ;) haha I look forward to the next one!
Jake Estes thanks Jake!
I am tourguide so i admired you so much
Thank you! Are you a guide in Hue?
Yes ,I guide Huế city , nice to meet you
Omg you guys are so amazing. Your knowledge of Vietnam history is awesome for real, much better than me. What do you guys think when people sell weeds, marijuana, glasses or stuff like that on the street?
We love to learn in each city we go to, there is always so much culture and history to take in. We've gotten pretty used to people selling us things on the street now, but when it first started happening we were so overwhelmed. It is a much different experience than what we're use to.
The first It's fun video but I'm amazing with the local guy that he want to sell some glasses for you and you said " always try to sell something " despite you can said " No, thank you " . I think It's better for your answer more than joked him you speak English or not guys. That's livelihood of local people in here.
well done guys ! But on the run is not a good way of experiencing the real essence of any place and Hue in my opinion deserves a more in-depth out of the usual tourist routine .Been going there for a number of years and find every time a new adventure to be discovered ,mostly on foot and taking your time .The people there are by far more accessible then the rest of Vietnam .Make friends with the locals and you'll be amazed ,how much more that great city has to offer .
Oh I absolutely believe that! Each city we go to has it's hidden treasures and we try our best to find those when we can. Hue was definitely one of our favorite places in Vietnam so who knows? Maybe we'll be back there to find out just what else it has to offer! Thanks for watching, Karl!
thanks for your reply and I wish you luck in your ventures with some envy of course .
Karl Koenig totally agree with you on the making friends with locals part. That’s really what makes every trip a unique and lifelong memory
and hopefully have enough time to do so ! Backpacking is the way to go and avoid the tourists !The feeling of being the only long nose { foreigner ] is one of the most exciting aspect's of travelling with locals only ,apart from saving's and I would recommend it to anyone ,who would have the time to do it that way .Besides , you experience is so much more away from the usual tourist spots .Home stays are also a good way to make it a unique insiders look into the native customs and daily live . Wish you luck on your next trip !
#IAmACreator i loved and shared your video
