In 1978 I was 20 and got to see them in Glasgow. Best punk band ever. Still sound great 44 years later. Thanks Pete RIP

1978 year i got into punk age 13 didn't see Buzzcocks until 1979 though with Joy Division supporting & great to hear peels voice again a one off
Just got my 15yr old Daughter into The Buzzcocks ... She reckons they are better than any shit around today... OFC I agree.
R.I.P Pete - Your songs will outlive all of us!
God I wish I was sixteen again!
We all do Steve!
"October 24th [1978] Newcastle City Hall". Though I was already a fan by this point, I was 11 and too young to go :(. I did eventually see them in 1989 or 90, then met them in about '93 or '94 when I acted as warm-up on a TV show they featured in: "Something For The Weekend" (YTV) I think it was called. Hung out with them for a couple of hours and Pete bought me a G&T. A very happy memory, but no photographic evidence, unfortunately.
ThankYou Vibracobra23! Rest in Peace Pete, ThankYou & The Band for Creating & Sharing So Much So Well!

"Another Pete Shelley composition;" What an amazing songwriter!
Well said! They go on about Lennon and McCartney. Shelley and Diggle put them in the shade
Great songs here, but putting Lennon & McCartney in the shade is a stretch!
@@guydwelly Never!

promises. what a fucking incredible tune
Définitif !!!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps i may mention Marc Riley plays Peel Sessions on his BBC 6 Music Show. Also has great bands in Sessions.
A bit snide of John with the "Shot by both sides" mention - didn't Pete and Howard have co-authorship of the riff?
Absolutely Yes!! This is a No-Brainer?? If?? You have every Very First Original Album & Record Release by The Buzzcocks!! & Magazine!! Go Figure??
Lol it's an incestuous bsns!

too much commentary!
There are individual time links in the tracklisting in the description so it's very easy to skip the commentary. I also upload the separate tracks to my other channel with no commentary. There are also plenty of other channels who upload sessions without the commentary. A lot of people like to hear Peel's comments. So please feel free to go elsewhere!
You poooooor fooool you.
it's his show
I have the album, you can always hear it without Peel. I think its cool to hear this version as it was played on the radio.
