Thank you for the information. A friend of mine has a few apple tree that have some kind of fungus. Or atleast that is what they have been told by someone . They want me to cut it back but I thought it would be best to research it for my self . I would hate to kill their trees .Haven't seen symptoms yet but now (thanks to you ) I have some idea of what to look for and what problem could exist .
The Bonide Frit Tree Spray i found had Captan and malathion in it. I don't know if Bonide makes other formulations. If you prepare and apply it according to the label instructions it will be as effective as mixing them separately, but a whole lot easier.
The leaves on my two year old McIntosh apple had started looking stressed. Today, I looked at it, closely, and it had some rust spots on the leaves. I sprayed it with Daconyl, a fungicide, I will get some orchard spray and start spraying my apple trees. Your thoughts.
My apple tree has barnacles all the way along the limbs, similar to what you find on the rocks on the beach. They look and feel like shells. Does anyone know what this is? Will it kill my tree? The tree is around 30 years old.
Can you send a picture of it to us and we would be happy to tell you what it is. You can upload a picture here: www.familyplotgarden.com/ask-a-gardening-gardening-question.html
all 3 of my apple trees are suffering from fireblight after a rainy late august and most of september took some cuttings to save them but I believe that they will die next spring so my cutting stock may die as well because most of them are Lodi apples and not disease resistant. Will be buying 7 disease resistant apples next spring.
My apples are still alive and have some fruits on them but one of them only has one water sprout growing above the grafting point so it is hanging on for one more year. The other 2 are doing fairly well and one is producing small apples already. Waiting for them to mature or the antlered rodents to eat them. Lol.
Yes you should probably spray a fungicide and insecticide while they are growing to keep the blights, rots and worms at bay. You need to read the label directions to make sure you don't spray closer than a certain number of days from harvest. This is called the pre-harvest interval or PHI on the label.

that can happen and it's not acceptable. Lowe's should be advised and you should get a refund. Lowe's needs to contact their supplier and complain as a matter of urgency. I bought a bare rooted peach which sprouted with bad leaf curl, so it obviously had it when i bought it. Got my money back.
@@alisonburgess345 Why is the leaves of my apple tree curling? I live in last vegas and tried to water every 3-4 days since it’s getting hot already. Bought the tree at star nursery.
Hello, I have a honey crisp apple tree that has fire blight. Should I cut the tree down to the main stem. Most of the tree is diseased? Thank you.
Great info. I have 3 apple trees grown from seed. The oldest one is about 6 feet tall and looks pretty good so far. The other 2.. not looking so good.

Great information. Can I use this ‘Bonide Fruit Tree spray ‘ product instead of 2 products as captan & malathion. Will it be same effectiveness?

Fungicide is preventative so these spots will not disappear, and may even grow. What it will do is keep the fungus from spreading.
thanks fot the video
excellent information. Thumb up!

How did it go? I'm going the air layer route if this ever happens to me.

Can I spray a fungicide now when the apples are growing?

Fireblite solution?
What is this captan stuff I've never heard of it and can't find here in nevada
It should be available from your local nursery. If you go to the big box stores and buy the fruit tree spray it probably has Captan in it.
@@FamilyPlotGarden I bought some from Stark Brothers
Omg 😳 we have all these
Glad we could help ID them, but sorry you have them.
