Thank you very much Sir, you just destroyed my dream to have a RV-2 (based on the fact that Mike Einziger from Incubus have one in his rig)... 😂 Just noticed after your demo that the RV-3 works better for me, and sounds better IMHO... Thanks for that great demo. 👏
Thanks for the video-demo! Now all we need is a side-by-side with the rv-5 & rv-6 ;)
Of these 2 i find the RV-3 definitely more warmer on the plate and hall. The delay on the RV-2 is cool, its like some kind of panning-ping pong type delay.
Yep, I need to get hold of the whole set! RV-2 has the most 'character' to me (I have had RV-5 and RV-6 in the past), RV-3 is probably my overall favorite. Thanks for your comment.
On room settings they're identical. On Hall settings the RV-3 sounds denser but also more obviously digital. In delay mode the RV-2 is more limited, but sounds better. imo obviously
Hey man! Great review! I thought I wanted the RV-2, it seemed that everytime I didn't look I preferred the RV-3.
I love ur tone tho! Anything spesific you do to achieve the tone? Like strings, pre-amp, eq or whatever:P It seems so bright and "jangly" in a good way.
Thanks!
Thanks, it's quite bright because there's no cab sim, just Tele straight to the pedals and RME Fireface. I may have used a clean boost before the pedals but I don't think so
Thanks for the video. I’ve an RV3 since 94. Always use the plate setting. Both are quiet similar in that setting I think. Does the RV2 feel similar under the fingers so to speak? In bypass mode is there any signal degradation?
I'd say the bypass is pretty good on the RV-2. It definitely has a certain vibe to it that is cool, but can't get as deep and wet as the RV-3
Nice review bro! Rv2 fx level's at maximum is similar to Rv3 in middle?
yep that's right
that knob is very important on the rv3, it can regulate the exact amount of reverb you need. In a normal band context I prefer to set the reverb balance between 9 and 11 o'clock.
Thanks for your vídeo! Í bought a RV2 here in Brazil , and i'm very happy now ! I I have a TC HALL OF FAME, and í prefer RV2 12 BITS RSR!
Did you use a TRS jack to get it do stereo ?
Hi, thanks for your comment - no TRS, just mono TS jack into each, then two L/R TS (normal cables) out of each pedal.
Can I use for voice
sure
What are these pedals going into?
Does the RV2 require 12v?
recorded direct to audio interface (RME Fireface UCX)
9v for the RV-2
Rv3 is darker?
it can get darker with the tone knob that the RV-2 and has more bass in the reverb
