could you do these:
- Charmeleon
- Nidorina
- Nidorino
- Machoke
- Weepinbell
- Graveler
- Weedle or Kaukna in Let's go P/E
Nah
Lol lmao

I find it hysterical that this beefy stone rhino isn't capable of learning how to throw a singular rock, but it CAN shoot bubbles, snow and lightning at you.
I was so confused as a kid lmao. I taught mine Thunder and Ice Beam
Rhydon is the epitome of "This Pokemon was designed before we finalized TM distribution".
Bro, he can even surf. I've read a study how it actually makes sense since his density is basically like styrofoam.
What if it's not really made of stone?
I'm like 60% certain it can also learn surf.
A rock Pokémon who can learn Bubblebeam, Thunder and Fire Blast. Ooh Gen 1 what would life be without you
It's even better. Rhydon can, for some reason, learn Surf.
@@Borgdrohne13That one makes sense because it's a Rhino
@@Borgdrohne13the move that is super effective to him 😂 Gen 1 logic
And a huge base 40 special stat to make use of them haha
fun fact, in competitive gen one rhydon can run surf as a very niche option, since it's stronger than earthquake against opposing rhydon.
"As a result of no Sand Attack, the Gyarados outspeeds and hits with Hydro Pump." Just Gen 1 things.
Ride on, Rhydon.
Rhyd On deez nutz.
It's so nice to hear JRose having fun with a video again. He's been torturing himself for our entertainment. 8:40 I don't know how long it will last but it's been nice hearing that joy again
Been watching you for a bunch of years. Love how you have persevered in your channel and kept uploading after all this time.
Finally the first Pokemon created covered
Rhydon with Blizzard, Thunder, Surf, Earthquake was always a massive troll. Switch it in against a electro pokemon, opponent switches out, THUNDER. (most likely switched in water type)
sounds great until it barely does any damage because of your special stat... or it just misses because lol thunder.
Rhydon Thunder vs. Starmie: 112-132 (34.6 - 40.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
Rhydon Earthquake vs. Starmie: 143-169 (44.2 - 52.3%) -- 17.7% chance to 2HKO
@@jerry3115 Opponent switches in a flyer because they predict earthquake vs the electric type (or better yet a gyarados that is both types). there are cases where thunder would be more reliable.
@@jerry3115 that's with max evs which the opponent wouldn't have had let's be honest playing back in the day and ivs would be varied too
@@MogusMasterSaikawa22 That's going to affect both calcs.
My power has been out all day due to Milton and I am spending my precious battery life on DJ Rosey-Rose. Worth every percentage 💛💛
I love how Rhydon and Raticate are essentially the same back sprite
Bro I will never unsee that.
I'm a simple man. I see jrose11 I click the video
Same here
simply had to as well especially for my fav rock type
same
12:08 I'd love for you to make a quick little video outlining all these little optimizations and when you have to do them and when you don't need to worry about them. For example do you have to save in Mt Moon so you can reset if you can't catch Paras quickly? And I notice you have Vaporeon since you couldn't get Lapras yet. Stuff like what items you pick up and which you ignore and when you use them or don't... I think it would be interesting 😊
Old Jrose heads remember that he left a full description of the Badge Boost Glitch in the description in older videos.
No theme song 😢
The fact that Rhydon gets both Tail Whip and Leer, especially when the champion does it, will always be funny to me
It's honestly pretty cool to hear someone talk about Raid that actually plays the game and knows where certain champions are good and what their purpose is
Lol man said he "plays Raid ALOT..." 😂😂😂😂😂
Rhydon is such a cool looking Pokemon, I hate how they made Rhyperior Bald, really ruined it for me, cause I like everything else in its design. Thank God Eviolite exists so I can just give it to Rhydon and keep it as it is.
You massively misused commas.
I'm painting all the doors and trim in my house at the moment. This will be the best 25 minutes of my day
Minus the ad break, still adjusting
I saw you try to body slam that Ghastly. I SAW YOU DO THAT
I’m hyped af to catch this video so quickly though. I found this channel recently, I think I’ve watched 50 or so of them now, this is the first run I’ve watched close to it actually being published.
10:25
Okay, am I the only one who thinks he looks like a confused office worker in that moment?
He kinda always does.
"those good times are about to END"
*Immediately runs two minute ad*
REMAINING POKÉMON:

@@cmousers it’ll either be 100th or it’ll be last.
"The face of someone who just had a run flash before his eyes" 😂😂
Inb4 "Rhydon is the first Pokemon" comments.
There. I've unburdened you from the low hanging fruit.
Based.
The big rhino Pokémon, so nice to finally have him here
When I open up UA-cam after a bad day and see that you've posted a new solo run, things just magically get better.
"and I also really like..." *checks notes* ".. MaSkEd FeArMoNgEr"
Haven't watched a video of yours in a while. Your production and editing quality have improved dramatically. The interface for the video is so nice and really helps to follow along. Great work.
Great job Jrose and I’m surprised that Rhydon only learns normal type moves in gen 1 and keep up the amazing work
If only Rhydon could learn Swords Dance like it could in advanced.
30 seconds in and I about did a spit take at that move pool. We've been going through so many crap pokemon lately that seeing one with a good move pool is pretty surprising.
Id actually argue there's 4 sections to the game.
Section 1 goes through to Surge like you said
Section 2 I'd say is Rock tunnel, Erica, Hideout, and Tower up to the snorlax like you mentioned
Section 3 is Safari, Koga, Silph, and Sabrina
Section 4 is Blaine, Giovanni, rival, and Elite 4.
This gives a more even split of gameplay seeing as if you split after Giovanni like you said in the video the end comes up rather rapidly and the midgame is rather beefy.
Hilarious that Beedrill put in more work than giant kaiju with a drill on his skull.
That's the curse of being a slow rock/ground.
you ever kick ball through brick wall?
Lol i feel like J rose doesnt have a scheduled release he just gets the video from the editor watches it at whatever time it is and hits upload and fucks off 😂
I like the seemingly chaotic release schedule.
It's got that small channel vibe that drew me in vs the "this is the optimal time window to release to maximize profits" vibe
Estoy enganchadisimo a estos vídeos de 1 gen
Yo también jaja
Watched every video. Still enjoy listening to Badge Boost Glitch explanation.
Rhydon is my all time favorite Pokemon. I always have one named Roadhouse, and it's usually my number one go to. So happy to see this one
Ah, gen 1
Where the first Pokémon to be ever designed, a Rock/Ground type, has exactly THREE moves of those types and all of them are learned from one-time use TMs.
4:34 Jrose is the only creator I believe actually likes Raid. It still doesn't make me want to play the dang thing, but at least I don't feel gross after watching the ad.
He's lying just like all the others
No, he's lying
Hey mate, you're almost there with completing Kanto's solodex! Gratz!!
Also, once you finish it, I would suggest you to separate them by points. I feel like you talked about it before but it's a bit unfair with crazy good pokemon with bad types or movesets. Rhydon is a good example of that. It took way longer because it couldnt tank a vine whip or a water gun, not because it was bad. But it's on the bottom of the list because of a few trainers.
Ah, Rhydon. What Season 1 of the anime tried to convince us was a Fire Pokémon (due to Blaine having one alongside a Ninetales and a Magmar).
Finally Rhydon! I am so hyped!
Not that Rhydon needed more difficulty, but I feel like Blastoise would have provided a greater challenge because of his high defense and lack of a rock wrakness compared to gyrados. Although it probably wouldn't have changed it much.
I feel like beating Brock at such a low level made the rest of the run more difficult
I'll say it. Thanks for explaining the badge boost. Just started watching your videos and had no idea what a badge boost was. Now I do!
Even to this day the only thing I disagree about in the tier list is that Geodude is above Squirtle. Squirtle's time was worse, sure. But you didn't have to resort to stacking badge boosts with withdraw or EV training with Squirtle. If you went back using the badge boost glitch, Squirtle would definitely be better
For a long time, I ignorer Rhydon and other rock types due to their extreme weaknesses. But I recently used one in Blue for the first time, and it carried my team!
The final pokemon of the "big 7" in competitive gen 1 battling.
Ah yes Agatha's infamous Gyarados 😅🤣
My boy JRose11 comes through in the clutch with IMO the best rock type in all of Gen 1!! Growing up Rhydon and Horndrill were Pokemon Stadium nightmare fuel😂
I don't know, but I know Rydon was in fact, The FIRST Pokemon designed
10:53 i'm surprised to know that rhydon wasn't able to learn sword dance in gen 1, but only from gen 3 onward. I was always assuming that he could learn the move from the beginning
Crazy how there's three pokemon from Gen I OU (Chansey, Rhydon Exeggutor) in the second lowest tier.
I have a feeling the fact that Rhydon has access to some good tms will save this run...
I see the learnable movepool and know this is gonna be a breeze in the late-game
Haven't watched through the video yet, but I'm very interested in seeing how the eventual Golem run will compare. Golem has slightly higher Speed and Special, but has a worse movepool. Starting with Tackle+Harden instead of Stomp+Tail Whip will definitely hurt against Brock. Could go either way, but I'm leaning towards Rhydon outperforming.
Prime example of gen 1 being gen 1. Good effort rhydon, but typing and moves were always going to hold it back in a gen 1 playthrough. Maybe golem will surprise and do better tier wise. Fun seeing the run and looking forward to the next. Who knows, maybe the count will return and give the fans of its random appearance a presence 😂
YEAHHHH MY FAVORITE LINE! Rhyhorn and Rhydon grew on me so much
all hail the king, the FIRST born
Thank you for explaining the badge boost glitch. 😊
I find it crazy how Badge Boost just exists and I sort of unconsciously acknowledged it as a kid not knowing the exact mechanics. Since Brock always went down and in that early game you'd get pelted with tail whips or leers I was just like "Defense down? I guess I hit harder?" and it did it. Now that I KNOW what it is, and see the effects in these runs, it's kind of a treat to see how little me was conceptualizing what was effectively a bug or error.
Beautiful run as always. We keep getting closer to that finish line!
Except the badge boosts don't work against Brock. That requires possessing the badges.
Can't wait for this years month of Jrose :)
Oh my gosh, the badge boost glitch? That's unheard of!
24 mins? It must have been great!
Cool man, cool to see a pokemon that gets overlooked
Not gonna lie. Everytine I see a Jrose video uploaded my day gets a little better cause I'm excited to watch the next challenge.
14:14
I thought if a Pokémon used dig and you earthquake after, you still hit it…? Kind of like one using fly, then opponent using thunder…
Or was that a gen 1 miss?
I'm weighing in on Team Please Stop Describing The Badge Boost Glitch. You had it right, most of us have heard it upwards of 50 times by now
A little surprised at some of the Pokemon above rhydon
yes, we watched all your videos and still like the badge boost explanation bit :) i also like when the videos are longer than 30 minutes ;)
I'm almost sure everyone here knows that it was the first pokemon to ever exist, according to GameFreak
Oh cool. I just learned this and have been playing on and off since the early 2000s
Only took 30 years for this run to finally happen
Mon has the movepool of a Gen 1 Normal type despite being a Rock/Ground type. lol
Did I miss the explanation? Why give the rival Bulbasaur over Squirtle? Bulbasaur is weak to Earthquake. Squritle is weak to no STAB moves
Bulbasaur isn't weak to Earthquake, Poison is weak to Ground but Grass resists it, so it's neutral but Gen 1 displays the wrong message.
Plus, garydos is immune to earthquake and rock moves aren't the most reliable
the rival's exeggutor in the champion fight doesn't have a grass type move to hit you with
blastoise has hydro pump which is a problem yes, but gyarados also has hydro pump, and also notably, blastoise has withdraw, which is a non damaging water move that the ai may choose to use over the actual attack
venusaur has razor leaf which is absolutely devastating if you are weak to it
basically, by going against bulbasaur you have 2 very problematic pokemon instead of just 1
I didn't have "Todd Helton getting referenced" on my JRose11 bingo card.
Idk how but I knew rhydon was next I just finished my rhydon run 2 days ago. I’m sure jrose will do better tho
Another solo run in the books
FINALLY my favorite Gen 1 mon!
That hour party wasted for misty sure does hurt
Jrose video is an instant watch.
I work 2 jobs. A new Jrose11 dropped. Everything is hold now. Leave me alone. 😂
Haven't seen the video yet, but I'll bet the answer to the title is "not a chance"
Yeeeessssssss let's gooooo!!!!!🎉
JRose used rollout and hit two weeks in a row. Let's keep it going for three?
Was there an reason to choosing the rival to have venosaur instead of blastoise?
Is it worth it at all to take advantage of Pidgeotto's Sand-Attack in the Cerulean City Rival for badge boosting with Brock's badge?
Another absolute classic by the man Jrose11
15:12 i was super confused seeing tou saving the game at 4:50 before rival 6 and the time for the 8th gym showing 4:54
Let's Go! Thanks for the upload Jrose! Please keep them going and far into G/S/C.
Where theme song my dude
But yeah Golem most likely better, natural means of badge boosting + better speed while still retaining pretty high ATK
Man RAID pays you well...
Rhydon that first Pokémon!
Rhydon is so damn cool.
It’s always insane to me how a pokemon like Rhydon doesn’t learn any move that’s the same as his type.. like why would they do that? Makes no sense
JRose, when you finish the 151, what are you gonna do next?
Nice one. I always liked Rhydon
Did you know that Rhydon can learn surf? Why? Well, Rhydon rocks, Rhydon a bike, Rhydon the waves, Rhydon these nuts.
RHYDON FIRST POKEMON LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
