This explained nothing to me. What do they actually DO? The design, isn't that the designer? The idea? isn't that the creative director? The narrative? Isn't that the writer?

Art Directors are middle men that just get told what to do and try to make sure the Creative Directors or partners vision stays on course. They do absolutely nothing but cause massive confusion. As my friend put it, "Those who don't know, Art Direct."

@Chaosjelly106 thats what a creative director does.
Art director sets visuals. Creative director will narrate everyone a scene, What emotions have to be evoked. Now AD gonna set it up. Music director gonna set the sounds for it. Writer- dialogues(if actors are there)

So many people want to pursue this career because of how they're portrayed in art. Mad Men wasn't the show that inspired me to want to become an Art/Creative Director; believe it or not, it was Justin Timberlake in "Friends With Benefits." I was 15 when it came out, and it was the perfect time for career inspiration/aspiration.
