I cannot imagine how it is that I didn’t know and love this in 1990 - unless I’m suffering some sort of acute memory loss this is the 1st time I’ve heard this crazy good album. Huge thank you

I prefer the album 'Resin', much darker and gloomier, like country influenced Joy Division. This ablum sounds like the record company heard Resin and wanted to turn them into another 'New Order'. But still not bad, great band.
This is not an album but a compilation, and contains tracks from both the first album Eureka and from Resin. I love both and they sound nothing like New Order.
This album is a collection of mostly demo recordings, all created prior to the Resin album. After the band ended Chris Manecke let us go through several boxes of tapes he had stored away and choose the songs that felt like they would give a good overview of the development of their sound prior to the band signing with Caroline Records.

First I though they were British, then I found out they're from LA. I saw them at the Roxy with the Durutti Column in 1989 and they were perfect!
I love the bass on Spaghetti Western
I think Adrian Borland and The Sound were an imflence on this band never less these are excellent as were the The Sound.
Is this what Joy Division did during their summertime trip to north africa?
it has this joy division vibes, but I think they also add alot
Smiling Monarchs one of the best 80's 12" records
Ghosts is an incredible song ! Epic.
lyrics for "they said tomorrow"
watch me now
i will try to do it right
tried it yesterday
but halfway through i changed my mind
its just a beam of light
down at the end of the hall
i watch the colours change
i watch the colours change again
they said tomorrow
might be the day that we try
well try again tomorrow
but i cannot understand why
if i bother you
please tell me to go away
i dont wanna bother you
but its not for me to say
its just a beam of light
down at the end of the hall
i watch the colours change
i watch the colours change again
if i bother you
please tell me to go away
i dont wanna bother you
but its not for me to say
no its not for me to say
good album
