I have some blow dry tutorials but I think I'm going to start showing either more of the blow dry in the video or do a separate video on the blow dry alone.
I remember going to my stylist in the 80s and asking for long layers and this is what she gave me all the time. Who’d have thought that 30 years later someone would give it an actual name.
This is the BEST AND MOST PATIENT HAIRDRESSER EVER...PAY ATTENTION SALONS...WE HAVE TRIED TO TELL YOU FOR YEARS...WHAT WE WANTED. NOT YOUR VERSION..BUT THIS VERSION...THANK .. SHE NAILED IT🎉🎉🎉 10 STARS...😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
I am a beautician too, all i can say is i love to see the way you cut the hair, thank you for sharing ur technique and very clear explanation. God bless and more power to ur channel.
Thank you so much! I had one hair stylist cut my hair like this with cascading feathered layers as a teenager. I fell in love, but others could not recreate the look. After watching this, I tried it on my own hair. Carefully watching and rewatching before cutting. It came out so beautiful. Now it was hard to see in the back but my hair just felt so much lighter, and bouncy afterwards. I'm very impressed.
I remember this cut on Jacquelyn Smith on Charlies Angles back in the 70's. It is a long shag with bounce and curl after styling. The cut itself that you did is very nice. Hard for me to go back to the 70's look though. Every cut cycles itself over time. Nice job.
Yep it was called a shag. Trying to find someone who knows how to do this cut is challenging. If you have indigenous native hair this has been one of the best cuts for me due to my hair thickness and coarseness.
You are the best stylist I've ever seen on UA-cam by a mile. I've been cutting my own hair for 10 years and your videos are the most informative and helpful. My hair has never looked better thanks to you.
I searched and watched many hair cut tutorials but this is the best one I’ve ever seen! The tutor shows clearly every step. Very honest and professional. Thank you very much for all of your tutorial videos . ❤
Thank you, Summer! Yesterday was haircut day for my family. I cut everyone’s hair but mine and the baby’s. I followed two of your tutorials for my two older girls’ hair. This morning I used this tutorial to fix my botched ponytail haircut from another UA-camr’s tutorial. The layers aren’t so disconnected and are even now!!! I am so pleased with my new cut! 🙌🏼🫶🏼
You are wonderful su explaining haircuts. I always had trouble learning haircuts at school. For some reason, it just clicked watching you. You are so calm explaining it and it helps. I'm so happy I found your channel.
Hi.. I have been looking for this hair cut for so long!! Could not explain my hair dresser to do how I want no body knows this hair cut anymore..so I sent this video to my hair dresser to do!! Although my hair is not quite that long yet but gonna my hair to train that way til it get longer!! I love this hair cut!!! Thank You!! Glad I found you!!
Very good demonstration of hair cutting. I became a hairdresser in the 70s and this haircut was vey very popular due to Farrah Fawcett from Charlie’s angels. Funny how things have a way of coming back as if people just discovered a “new” thing. I used tho have this cut that i curled back at the front, and, threw in some bleach blonde highlights, then called “ streaks” in the front.
I don't cut hair yet... but I've been binge watching all your videos and save some for future reference if I were to cut my own daughter hair. Thank you thank you thank you for the tutorials... it is super helpful with all the thorough explainations.... i wish you and your family the best of life as a return for your awesome tutorials. love, From Singapore.
lol had a client ask for a butterfly cut and i'd heard of it but wasn't to sure of what it was. THIS HELPED SO MUCH. so clear and easy to follow, subbed instantly! hope she loves it lol 🤞🤞
After getting ruined hair cut at the saloon, I cut my hair with your help. Believe me it looks much better than before. Thanks a million for uploading this video. And please keep uploading videos for ruined hair😂 thanks again ❤❤❤❤
You're a national treasure!!! Thank you so much for this wonderful explanation. This is the most beautiful haircut I've ever had. I thought it would be just like having long layers but this is soo much extra. I'm in loove!!! 🫶🏽😌✨✨✨
I actually did this myself! My husband trimmed the back first, and it took a minute, my arms hurt after a while but it came out great!! Thank you so much❤❤❤
@@debramarmion3734 I did a simplified version, I did a sloppy few cuts but it still looked great! I haven’t done it again, it takes a lot of concentration and patience when you do it yourself, and my husband trimmed the back ends:)
@@debramarmion3734 Have you seen the pony tutorial Summer put up? She compares the difference betweeen the pony hair cut and going through and cutting the individual sections, it looks pretty much the same, except for a few tweaks you could do. I started cutting the sides myself and then went to do the back and after I started I couldn’t just stop😂😂😂I had to take some breaks and pause and breathe😂😂😂 I’m an impatient person but I did it out of necessity because I only trust my husband to trim the back not to do layers into my hair🙈🙈😂😭 You can do it! But if you don’t want to take any chances I would do the pony cut, I think I’m doing that next:) The hair dresser sometimes doesn’t listen to me. And then you’re paying for a butchered head of hair🫣 I watch Styles by Summer for my hair and a channel called Reuzel for my grand son’s hair cuts:) I also need to buy some blending shears, I’m glad she explains why you should use the shears with a certain amount of teeth. I would have gotten the wrong ones and done some damage😩
Thank you so so so very much, I wanted this haircut for so long and you just saved me a hell alot of money. i did this today on my head and i love it i sure did made many mistakes with the upper part but came out well Thank you sooo much
Love it! I would have to add some volume on the top. My hair is thin. I have been looking for a cut like this. How would that style and cut work for a side part?
❤i love the v...and layers...sooooo glad pretty hair is coming back...been decades of greazy flat no flow hair...😅...i left beauty school.in 68....lol...hated that era then the shag came about....yayyuyyyyy
I think this is the way I want my hair cut because I love the angling away from the face but don’t like choppy layers throughout. I like the hair as a whole to look full. The point cutting doesn’t work at all for my curly hair. I would want the back to be not disconnected though.
Initially I wasn’t going to watch this bc my attention span was like 30 minutes?!? lol but so worth it! Great explanation. I did the popular 2 second butterfly cut tutorial and am not a fan of the outcome. Will take my time following your directions knowing it’ll be an improvement!!! Thank you also for showing how to soften the disconnect… not crazy about that part either.
Wonderful cut! Second (your right) side did look like it was held up higher than the the first(your left) as you pulled it forward. Beautiful cute and very well explained. I wonder if I could do it on myself.
My hair is very fine & thin. Also has no body. I wonder if this cut would be a good style for me. And would a curling iron be best to use? Even with a perm, it's difficult to get curl last.
So I actually just got a version on this cut on myself and I love it! I don't have as much of a full look on my ends anymore but it's still so fun. Next week I'm posting a video on a new tool(to me) that is a total game changer for getting volume and it staying!

I have some blow dry tutorials but I think I'm going to start showing either more of the blow dry in the video or do a separate video on the blow dry alone.
maybe it’s not human hair.
@@StylesBySummer For me it would have been helpful being able to see the result without a blow dry styling. Just the dried hair.

I had this in the eighties and they called it French Fringe Feathers

Yes, it did. I think it was a mix of the camera angle and me slightly holding it up more. When I was editing I noticed that!
