In the statistics for each actor, the numbers given for TV episodes are for the Carry On Laughing TV series only. These figures do not include any other TV shows they may have done outside of Carry On.
I don’t follow your logic. If you are talking about carry on episodes, then the figures cannot be correct. I have seen numerous carry on films, almost all, on TV at one time or another in my 71 years.
In 1975, there was a television series called Carry On Laughing. There were 13 episodes made of this series altogether. This is where the TV episode numbers are taken from for this video.
I used to love watching the carry ons with my dad when I was a kid in the 80s and early 90s. We would watch them over and over and they never seemed to get old. Sadly we will never have anything like that again and the world is a poorer place for it!
Carry on up the Khyber. An absolute classic that always makes me laugh. Those of us of a certain age were so lucky growing up when comedy was actually funny.
I remember that with them all sitting down to dinner in the middle of a revolt. Joan Simms thought the man opposite to her was putting is foot up her leg when it was a snake. So funny.
I've never found them offensive, they were full of innuendos, funny or offensive depends how your mind works. Find them offensive you've got a filthy mind!
Patsy Rowlands was a genuinely lovely woman, and close family friend. Am forever grateful that we had that with her. Always fond memories when she's on the screen or in tributes like this.

The Carry On Movies were a part of my childhood and as a family we all gathered around the TV whenever one was shown. Dreadful that all but a few of the legends who made them so memorable have passed on but they will never, ever be forgotten.
Unfortunately, for them to still be around now (over 50 years since the heyday) the cast would be around 80 or 90 years old now. It is very sad knowing only Jim Dale and Julian Holloway are about the only male regular cast still alive now, with Anita Harris and Angela Douglas being a couple of females still with us
I was doing a charity gig in Harlow in the late 70s and there was many personalities there including Bernard Bresslaw. He came over to speak to me.I was on stage and he was on the floor and I think we were at the same height. What a charming and classy man he was and SO TALL.Sadly missed.
Just wow, I grew up watching these guys and now at 55 so many have passed thank you for your research and dedication for this. Can we see a clip of each one again just to bring a tear to our our eyes once more…
I met June Whitfield in 1984, she was lovely. I also saw Sidney James walking down Skegness pier around 1971, I was with my mum and grandma and we were going to see him in a comedy play in the theatre at the end of the pier. He was walking right in front of us all the way along and my grandma told me to get his autograph but I was too shy. Brilliant cast and films, saucy seaside humour, I will always treasure these films.
For sure. I also met Les Dawson at a fete and I did get his autograph and I remember he didn’t put with love on the card so my grandma took it back to him and complained and he added it! Talk about embarrassing! I saw Norman Wisdom at Skegness pier theatre as well in his live show, he was very naughty and very funny. I didn’t get to meet him though. We will never see acts like these ever again, sadly. Thanks for the video🙂
My dad worked with Jacki Piper's dad at Joseph Lucas, Acocks Green, Birmingham in the 60s before she joined the carry on team. What a pity we weren't introduced !
So well done. They’re all legends. I love Kenneth Williams, Sid James, Barbara Windsor and the inimitable Hattie Jacques. My mum is a nurse, so we cracked up at the medically themed films sooooo much!
I was in single figures when my nan would take me to the cinema to watch these films and they were absolutely hilarious back then and still make me laugh now. Imagine in 20 years time a yt channel running then and now videos for 'the love island', 'big brother', nah, i cant even think of anything else recent to quote.
I deliberately cultivated the Sid James cackle and only for my teacher to say one day "who's that with the dirty laugh" I liked Miss Jacobs, so I dropped it.. Probably a good decision for an 11 year old. The set up for the "gone for a p" line from 'camping' still gets me today. Here's to never growing up!
These stars were all great in their own right and gave us great entertainment. I love the carry on films, light innocent with witty innuendos. It's great to see some of the stars are still with us. Let's face it , they will still be showing carry on films in years to come, can the same be said of TV and most films today !! My two favourite carry ons are C O Camping and C On Abroad.
Grew up with all those characters on screen and TV , now in my 70s you realise how fleeting life is. Thanks for the memories , these posts are great 👍.
Hard to believe that most of the cast would be either a 100 years old now or well in their 90s. Such a shame we lost 2 recently, Barbara, Margaret ( a month or so before Barbara) and then liz before them two.
I freaking love these films, the innuendo's for me this is how most BRITS are not as camped up as these but we all know someone who literally is any of these characters. Sidney James had the kind of face only his mother would love. Kenneth Williams. Barbara Windsor oh my lord can you imagine these getting made to day they would have upset every single woke idiot so badly they would need padded cells and jackets so they can hug themselves. Says a lot that they are still incredibly popular and are still shown again and again. Bought the entire set - TV shows and all - for my daughter for Xmas, she has been a fan since she was a toddler. Knows most of the words to them all off by heart.
And in the 2 years since this was posted we've lost Bernard Cribbins, Leslie Phillips, Anna Karen and Linda Baron. 😢 Rest In Peace. Carry On was a Legend of Characters with golden 💛 hearts
One of the best was Carry On Camping (1969) Hawtrey: "Hello. What's a nice girl like you doing with an old cow?" Farm Girl: "I'm taking her to the bull." Hawtrey: "Couldn't your father do that?" Farm Girl: "No, it has to be the bull!"
"Where's the owner?" "Gone for a P." The camp owner comes back with the letter P - to be nailed in front of the word "asses," so the sign reads "All passes must be shown." The genius of that alone - considering Sid wanted to go to a nudist camp ... brilliant.
I'm working on a big video on the whole Carry on universe, and this saved me a lot of wikipedia time. Thanks! Geat to see other people still putting in work, to keep the legacy alive
Matron "I'm a simple woman with simple tastes, and I want to be wooed!" Sir Bernard "Ooh, you can be as 'wude' as you like with me!" So many classic scenes, but that will always be my favourite!

There time was peak of T.V. and cinema . And they were the true stars in there times . We have very good memories . It is not like that any more. May there souls rest in peace . We will miss them as long as we live because we have beautifully memories of our younger days.
Fantastic, brought back a few childhood memories. Had forgotten that a few of the lesser known actors actually appeared in more films than some of the bigger names. Did I miss Kenneth Cope and Richard O'Callaghan??
Bless them all, alive or otherwise. Many years of making people happy. Leslie Philips will always be special to me and my brother, because he was the spitting image of our late father.
The best Carry on films were the early ones, Carry on Sergeant Nurse, Teacher anf Constable. They had a certain depth and offered a social commentary. The later ones became very formulaic and one dimensiona, full of suggestive smut even if quite funny. My favourites are Teachet and Sergeant; both have poignsnt endings.l
I couldn't agree more.....In my opinion there should be a TV channel specifically for The Good Old British Classic Comedy so those that are easily offended don't need to tune in. We are being dictated to by what we can watch and what we can't and no one in authority is brave enough to stand up to them!
Oh shut up. Of course you could repeat the humour today. But humour has changed since the 1960s and 1970s and it just wouldn't sell as well today as it did back then.
Aw, it's so sad nearly all of them have passes over, Jim Dale is still alive, 83 I believe? These films were good, clean fun, they cheer me up! But this innocent type of humour sadly would never he allowed today! Thank You StuView👍🔥🔥
Great movie's, great set's, great fun... Made in the same studio's as the Bond movie's, when the epic Cleopatra was being filmed it is was originally made in Pinewood Studios but complaints about the cold forced them to film abroad which left an entire set of Roman buildings behind.... hence 'Carry On Cleo'
Barbara Windsor & Sid James should have done their own show together. They’re chemistry together was spot on.Their Last Carry on film together in 1974,’CARRY ON DICK’, was hilarious😂
I live in Montreal, Quebec, Canada and used to go to the movies a lot when I was a teenager. In the fifties and early sixties Quebec had the strictest censor board in North America and would cut out whole scenes from movies. Quebec politics was closely controlled by the church and even drive-ins were not permitted in the province. HOWEVER, the plays on words, the sexual innuendo, and all of the off=color jokes went right over the heads of the censors so the Carry On movies were screened in their entirety; much to the enjoyment of the English speaking audience!
We watched some of the early 1960s shows at the seaside picture theatre,. It wasn't called a 'cinema' in out part of the world then. Mum thought them 'naughty' and a bit 'smutty', but all that went over youngsters' heads. Now I'm an 'oldster' I can see what she saw, but I still laugh at the shows, my favourites being the later "Carry On Abroad" and "Carry On Girls", but that's not fair. They're all funny and thank goodness for TV reruns.

@@thx113thx That's terrible.
And Sally Geeson the baby of the bunch at aged 71!
Great list, but ones that got away: Amanda Barrie. Carry on Cabbie and Carry on Cleo. Harry H Corbett. Carry on Screaming.
Fantastic people some of whom I knew. A great comedy series.
Glad you enjoyed it! I am going to do a separate video for supporting stars such as Kenneth Cope and Richard O'Callaghan. Coming soon!
@@stuviewtv Thanks. Much enjoyed. However, did Jon Pertwee not appear in four Carry Ons? I may have missed him.
@@emersonschosenfew He's going to be in part 3 coming soon.
@@stuviewtv Look forward to it.
So Many faces and characters you grow up with and laugh with and sad to see many have passed
Bless them all, alive or otherwise. Many years of making people happy. Leslie Philips will always be special to me and my brother, because he was the spitting image of our late father.
Brought on great memories of my youth
Sid will always be my favourite
Mine too!
*Sid - I thought he was from Wagga Wagga Australia ?*
Great video. Love the carry on films. If you make another one please mention the great Kenneth Cope, Joan Hickson Marianne Stone and Terence Longdon?
Thanks Steve! There will be a part 3 coming soon.
Brilliant compilation. Thank you for this.
I love all the carry on fillums.
Ah well
Carry on I guess
🤔
Loved watching the film's as a child and I still do💯🇬🇧
Brilliant as usual Stu , cheers pal .
Thanks 👍
How sad that apart from Jim Dale nearly all the main cast are dead. And most so young.
8:32 - a true treasure is still with us!
Recently found out he's a singer as well as an actor. Multi talented man especially in Hocombe Woods with Doris Mann
I've been counting, 9 are still alive
I was going to comment on how young a lot of them were at time of their passing
Yes Jim Dale is still with us, 86
Wonderful people, unfortunately today you couldn't repeat the humour due to the sad state of the world that we live in
You’re right. Most people nowadays are so pathetic.
It’s bloody GREAT COMEDY👍🏻
I couldn't agree more.....In my opinion there should be a TV channel specifically for The Good Old British Classic Comedy so those that are easily offended don't need to tune in. We are being dictated to by what we can watch and what we can't and no one in authority is brave enough to stand up to them!
@@williamcampbell6887 We have UK Gold for this.
@@VincentRE79 That doesn’t show all Classic comedy
Oh shut up. Of course you could repeat the humour today. But humour has changed since the 1960s and 1970s and it just wouldn't sell as well today as it did back then.
Some have passed away since this video was made, too many died too young, sadly missed.
Aw, it's so sad nearly all of them have passes over, Jim Dale is still alive, 83 I believe?
These films were good, clean fun, they cheer me up!
But this innocent type of humour sadly would never he allowed today!
Thank You StuView👍🔥🔥
Jim Dale will be 88 in August and doesn't look a day over 70. Amazing.
@@stuviewtv ...aw I'm out by a few years!
Wow! 88, bless him ,thanks Stu👍
Back when comedy was actually funny. Modern 'comedy'is dire!
Fantastic.....soon as I saw it, I did SIDS laugh.
Kenneth Williams absolute Legend
Great movie's, great set's, great fun...
Made in the same studio's as the Bond movie's, when the epic Cleopatra was being filmed it is was originally made in Pinewood Studios but complaints about the cold forced them to film abroad which left an entire set of Roman buildings behind.... hence 'Carry On Cleo'
More of a how many are still with us than then and now. So sad and a shame . Bless them all 💗❤
Barbara Windsor & Sid James should have done their own show together. They’re chemistry together was spot on.Their Last Carry on film together in 1974,’CARRY ON DICK’, was hilarious😂
Angela Douglas was (and still is) so beautiful. Those eyes.
Oh my god. These lovely people. So many wonderful people bringing such happiness to the uk over many years. God bless them all 🙏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
We watched some of the early 1960s shows at the seaside picture theatre,.
