Vatiswa is a very well spoken lady. From how she is putting her point across it is clear that she is not being dramatic, she is really trying to get what she deserves.
Sadly without a united voice( and there wont be a united voice for a long time and production companies know this) talent will continue to be exploited because there is always someone in the wings waiting.
With any talent related career one needs a fall back to tide them over the times when work is not available. Have a fall back degree, use your fame to partner with brands, create your own platforms, sell stuff, etc etc.
I hope she is not black listed because she was brave enough to speak up . I understand why some may be afraid to stand openly with her because everyone has their own issues going about. But let this be a lesson to other talent that they need to diversify their streams of income so that they don’t always have to feel the pressure of taking less than what they feel they deserve .

She has not been able to get work in Holloywood close to 2 to 3 years or more. I stand by Monique because Holloywood is wicked and do not pay black actors or actress what they deserve. I hope this actress do not get the same treatment there.

doesnt she play on Muvhango? manage your funds right mama, u are a veteran, save and think and start your own and do it right. and pay you staff right. until then, u are not thinking business... u have not touched the expenses, venues, cars, and all costs involved in production. wide your horizon. look for other opportunities... other kids are on radio, tv, etc... times have changed. replacing you wont be a problem. real cold facts. ..
ure not even touching on the revenue that the production gets. shit is tough, theres abo Netflix, Showmax, that are killing DSTV... wake up

This is exploitation, most Hollywood sitcoms and soapies earn per episode, and earn way more in one episode, than SA actors would in an entire season .... The Big Bang theory lead actors earned $1 000 000 per episode. And that was 24 episodes per season for 12 years..

MPHO MULADZI that is because here in America white actress or actors will get payed way more than black actors or actress know matter how good the black actress or actors id. Yes she would get payed if she was here in a show for repeats but still her amount payed would not be higher maybe even if she was on a # show.

No production company is gonna fork out 700k on a single actress.
This is similiar to fees must fall,it's gonna come out of the tax payers pocket. The arts industry in general is a high risk industry, instead we should rather raise awareness for ppl not to be one sided when it comes to career choices have a plan b. I promise u half of the ppl in corporate don't like their jobs but they do it avoid what she's complaining about.

Where are the ones that were showin up in stadiums in full ANC gear, campaigning for it😂😂😂yet their ANC lets everythin in this country tumble, only 1 party has intervened before to stand up for artists so far in a productive way. I hope this minister really comes through for her & the rest, but I doubt anythin significant will come from a representative of this government, cause this matter really seems big, as to the checks & balances that need to be engaged.

I really do sympathize with this talented and eloquent lady, but what I fail to comprehend is why is she all of a sudden complaining now after she had acted in two seasons of a Ferguson production IGAZI. And she wants to earn more than other actors in the same production. Now where is EQUALITY? Is that not being conceited and placing herself high and mighty and "better" than her fellow thespians? I'm just a confused bystander.
