Considering that I am only three years away from retirement, it becomes challenging for me to solely concentrate on the long-term perspective. Despite having invested in reputable companies and having a significant amount of funds allocated, my profits have been stagnant. This situation raises the question: Does the current recession and unstable market offer any calculated risk opportunities for generating profits?

I'm currently pursuing a balance between fat and lean FIRE with the guidance of financial advisor David Marvin Willis. By diligently budgeting and keeping living costs in check, I save a substantial portion of my income. However, I prioritize enjoying life, dining out, going on holidays, and savoring good food at home. With the goal to grow my income in the next 5-10 years (I'm 34), maintaining a savings rate of 30-40%, I aim to potentially reduce working hours around the 45-50 age range. This journey, spanning the next 10-15 years, won't entail a bare minimum lifestyle.

Thank you for this highly inspiring video. You always bring me into this self reflection mode after I've finished watching one of your videos. 😊
So..one thought: do you have any input on how to support oneself to "find"/ realize one's own ideas? I seem to struggle with brainstorming. Otherwise I would say I'm a quite creative person but I seem to be stuck with coming up with ideas on that. I'm a licensed pharmacist and would like to get out of working at a retail pharmacy since I find it physically really draining. I would like to aim for some kind of remote work (not available in my country as a pharmacist). I'm an animal lover and like to promote a plant based lifestyle. Also love to travel and would be interested in getting more into tech skills and living abroad for certain amount of time. But no clue how to bring that all together. 🤔 Any hints on where to go from here are highly appreciated.💡

I retired at 38. I mostly achieved this by following Robert Kyosaki's Cash flow Quadrant and choosing to work overseas where all my expenses were covered by the business. "Its not about what you earn ..... its about what you spend".
