Tail Of The Dragon Very Slowly on a KTM 690 Enduro R

I ride the Tail of the Dragon in Tennessee on my KTM 690 Enduro R loaded down with camping gear and running Dunlop D606 knobbies. I was not trying to set any records nor kill myself. :-)

Are you running the 130/80/18 rear?

Yes, a set of Dunlop D606s. The knobs tend to give way under hard turning so it's a bit scary.

I demo’d one of these, with knobbies. The road noise was pretty evident. Do you think a tire change would make it a bit more nimble,?

Less aggressive knobbies will certainly make it quieter on road, but then this is an Enduro bike so why put 50/50 or 60/40 tires on a street legal dirt bike? As far as being more nimble?? I don't think any bike with a 21 inch front tire is going to handle like a bike with a smaller diameter front tire, like a super moto setup.
