Want to know the actual fix? It's.. honestly kind of simple.. instead of that seat being filled with someone with the irrelevant degrees that guy has, or Janet Yellen in her seat, for holy cow, I have NO clue what possible merit she has to be in that seat. We need a collaboration of actual MATHEMATICIANS AND ECONOMISTS, to properly sit down, hammer out how we're able to print additional currency yearly against our properly assessed yearly GDP changes and internal domestic product production. Then we need to make sure congress can't pass more utterly bloated spending bills without both removing countless unnecessary stupid pointless scams our taxpayer money is wasted on and following very set strict guidelines on what and how our money can be spent, and how much they can spend. When I say 'kind of simple'. I mean: at face value its pretty simple on paper... in reality, these people will fight tooth and nail to maintain their power and censor, bankrupt, cancel, or crush anyone genuinely trying to install real solutions that'd stop the grease to their squeaky wheels.

Perspective: The global oil and gas companies had a banner years through COVID and in the last couple years of this inflationary period to the tune of over 4 TRILLION Dollars per year- that’s PURE PROFIT…that’s money that comes right out of our mouths, out of our retirements, out of our kid’s college (and it helps drive up the costs of college), our rents/mortgages/interest rates. Oil companies are only one example. Oil corporations know (and COVID proved this) that they can artificially allow for reserves to run lower, not produce quite as much, create austerity and use these excuses to drive up prices while claiming that it’s all due to “supply/demand” even though they’re the ones controlling the supply, like De Beers controls the diamond market. Oil companies have been looking for new and creative ways to excuse higher profits and COVID taught them how. Less output with less labor and jack the price = Unprecedented Profits. They know we can’t go without their product - we’re stuck. Our country is too big for meaningful mass transit anywhere outside of large city centers so they’ve got us. All other industries are following suit and playing the game and/or their prices are directly driven up by the high cost of fuel and oil.
We are being rung out like sponges to the profitable delight of corporate profiteers.
Also, Corporations are almost all right-leaning, Republican/conservative in the politics of their boards of directors, regardless of any woke bullshit that they’ll throw around to satisfy their worker bees and the proletariat. They will let prices absolutely skyrocket in order to submarine the political left while they’re in power. This is a double-win for large corporations. They can kill the democratic incumbencies at all levels of the political landscape AND “kill it” in the board room - profits/dividends, all at the expense of regular people.

Why are you blaming the government when the fault and control of this man-made thing called the market is CORPORATE! What the government could control was making a corporation an entity/a person under the law and making the primary legal obligation to make profit, rather than serve its mission. And deregulating any protections we the people had from corporations or deregulating any of the rules that made corporations be a good employer because people need a basic living wage to be able to participate in capitalism, because corporations worked really hard to make sure that we can only get healthcare through our employers which is also a form of participating in capitalism, Because you cannot successfully simultaneously charge a consumer more and more for basic needs and pay us less and less for basic labor, and have a successful version of capitalism.
