I’m surprised this video doesn’t have more views. The lineup of speakers at this conference provided an excellent compilation of investment wisdom. I’d love for the opportunity to attend in person next year!
The gist is: Norway get off your butt, stop being obsessed with eco solution and electricity, embrace nuclear energy, be more proactive on innovation and tech, stop being caught up with having to do everything by the book and to follow policy. The culture that's in SFBA is just really unique and like nothing else in the world. You can't really replicate that culture in cold, insignificant little Norway. The only way for Norway to adapt is to reach out the other countries and develop a culture that spans across different geos.
The secret sauce to being a better investor is to buy a passive index, dollar cost average and ignore everything else, come back in 30 years and you will have beaten every "professional" investor in the world, saved lots of money on fees and enjoyed life and not worried.
If you want to be better than bad, yes. If you want to be better than average, no. Bad and average in terms of book value returns. If you want to be a good investor in terms of actually investing, positively not. The index fund investor is the brain dead investor, they need know absolutely nothing about what it means to be an investor. To call them a good investor, when they are so barely scratching the surface of what investing is, would be inaccurate. Part of being an investor is the willingness to risk underperformance today in order to outperform tomorrow. Index fund investors don’t have the stomach to do either!
@Voodoo-tr3yz you should ask someone with a phd, 3 masters degrees, a published book author etc. I am just a stupid person, the most I can do is sweep the streets in Norway, may be I am wrong
Its basic supply and demand my friend. There is not much demand for specialist jobs here because most Norwegians have a very high education. Why would we fill our job positions with a foreign workforce when there are many Norwegians with the qualifications needed? On the other side tho.. There is a HUGE demand for low qualification jobs here because of the same reasons. Where many foreign workers choose to work. (With a better pay then they could dream of in another country) This is not being mean. It's being realistic. I really do hope you find a job you enjoy. But the higher your degree is, the less chance you have tbh

Dollar cost averaging rarely wins against lump-sum though
@@PedroOliveira-ez2ni Semantics. We don't get paid a full year salary on Jan 1st. The DCA is a fire and forget on a passive world index.
Maybe, but getting a multi bagger is another feel!

Super conference
1) don`t use Trade Republic, because your account is not anonymous 2) have the luck, to never encounter german bank bullies
Replace understanding with comprehension
Norwegians should also learn how to become better people
How so?
