    High inflation is followed by uncertainty and panic, making me wonder if it's time to liquidate my $200k portfolio, or maybe consider some defensive investments. I've heard analysts emphasize on value stocks performing good, what stocks exactly can be the ultimate hedge?

      Over the course of President Trump’s four years in office, the gross national debt grew from $19.95 trillion to $27.75 trillion - a $7.8 trillion increase (debt held by the public - the more economically-meaningful measure of debt - grew by $7.2 trillion over this period). However, much of this borrowing was due to policies put in place before President Trump took office or due to unexpected changes in circumstance. Debt was already projected to grow by about $3 trillion for the four years of his term when President Trump took office, and some of the additional debt accrued was also the direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic and recession. It’s also important to note that the government was holding an unusually large $1.6 trillion in cash when President Trump left office, which inflated the growth in debt relative to the deficit run during his time in office.

    • @zanyrumon5156
      @zanyrumon5156 Місяць тому +3

      The largest bills include $1.9 trillion from the 2020 CARES Act, another $1.9 trillion of ten-year borrowing from the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act, and a further $2.1 trillion of borrowing from the Bipartisan Budget Acts of 2018 and 2019, which mainly increased discretionary spending. The bipartisan Further Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2020 enabled an additional $500 billion of borrowing, mainly from the repeal of various Affordable Care Act (ACA) taxes and other bipartisan tax cuts. Other significant legislation added a combined $350 billion to the deficit.
      In terms of executive actions, President Trump’s unilateral expansion of various tariffs raised about $445 billion over ten years, largely offsetting the cost of other actions such as the termination of the ACA’s cost-sharing reductions funding and a prescription drug rebate rule (which was ultimately repealed).

      Banks don’t care about that, it’s just transferring around digital numbers. In physical withdrawals , They actually hand over cash which reduces their cash on hand, and reduces what they can lend because it’s fractional so the amount they can loan depends on how much physical cash they have. Quantitative tightening reduces cash production which makes it more scarce, so banks become more protective over it. Cash is king, especially now, make no mistake about it.

She said she didn't have many in her drawer so I had to wait on another teller! Yes just 100 dollars in each! The other teller did have it though!

    • @tomonetruth
      @tomonetruth Місяць тому

      @@corpr8dystopia778 Maybe in your jurisdiction bank branches have to hold physical cash to honour local customer withdrawals, but in general there is no requirement for banks to hold any fiat currency whatsoever. They need "cash" reserves, but these are not physical. QT means that banks are not authorised to "print" as much money, but again this is a digital exercise - there is no physical currency involved. There is less physical currency in circulation nowadays because it's simply not used as much - it has nothing to do with fiscal policy at all. Physical cash is in many ways far less liquid than digital cash, and it earns exactly 0% interest - I suspect very few of the worlds billionaires keep their wealth in suitcases under the bed.

    So basically we're going to keep this economy going for as long as we can until it literally hits the ground and starts combusting in to flames, this will not be a depression this will be a nightmare financially for everyone because right now when the inflation spikes up like a rocket and the dollar detaches itself from normal levels we're going to be just like Zimbabwe or Germany with wheelbarrows of money for bread. I personally feel like we have maybe 4 to 5 years of somewhat economic transactions with money and debt but after 2030 I think that's when everything will falter and hit the skids. I would buy Bitcoin and buy hard assets like gold /silver as a store of value while also actively trading...The only wild card for us investors is to actively engage the market by trading, we always over complicate things when we speculate. It's not about guessing the market's next move; it's about playing it smart and steady during trading...managed to grow a nest egg of around 100k to a decent 442k in the space of a few months... I'm especially grateful to Whitney Eston, whose deep expertise and traditional trading acumen have been invaluable in this challenging, ever-evolving financial landscape......

    public servent here, worked in multiple public agencies, fire protection , city planning, and multiple municipalities im here to say this is absolutely true, in the next 30 years or sooner all these big cities will run completely out of money, they will surely ask for government bailouts. these cities already have unfunded liabilities ,they can't payout retirement checks, public sector like sanitation, police fire, water, and parks are all asking for raises and the budget just can't afford it. There's not enough tax revenue for the amount of inflation that is happening

    A recession is currently the "most likely consequence for the economy," and I cannot fathom becoming a victim of circumstances, with inflation at a four-decade high. In two years, I plan to retire, and my target retirement fund is $967,000. How can I assure this? What steps can I take?

      My money was almost wiped out entirely in 2008. I took out my money and invested it with my wife's wealth manager. I haven't caught up to her profits over the years, but I do earn more. Haha

      This is great. I started investing with a wealth manager in 2020, too. I hated myself for a long time because I didn't know I could do that. Funny how I have quit my day job, because my profits cover for every living expense.

      Monica Shawn Marti is the licensed coach I use. Just research the name. You'd find necessary details to work with a correspondence to set up an appointment.

    June 29, 2015 "The Greek government shut all banks in the country on June 29 after the European Central Bank capped emergency funding to the lenders. Cash withdrawals from ATMs are now limited to €60 a day (about US$67) for Greek citizens." Greece took the money to pay their debt.

    Turns out the value compared to the dollar has also risen pretty good as well, and they are still climbing in value.

    Maybe after they do that they can figure how much they made and give themselves big bonuses again. Like in 2008 when they overspent and paid themselves too much and just got free tax money from us. If this happens we all need to stop paying our house payments. They are ours at that point. The only people still making money off everything is the wealthiest people.
