Ok I made it. It was so difficult to sew that zipper in. It was all perfect until that second sew 😢😢. I’m going to attempt again but I’m going to make a few adjustments. You make this look easy and it would likely be easier with your zipper foot. My zipper foot has the back wide piece which made going around the corner much more difficult and I kept hanging up on the zipper and I nearly threw it in the trash defeated. It’s a tad wonky around the corners. But I completed it and when I feel up to it, I’m going to attempt another and make a few adjustments to make that corner easier.
Update! I got the new zipper foot and now have a nice looking zipper! Thanks again for the tutorial which I watched at least 100 times! You help make me better! 🤗

I won't lie, working with the large zipper was a bit tricky, and my low-quality sewing machine wasn't strong enough to go through both the inner and outer parts, but thanks to the handwheel, I was able to finish it anyway. The result turned out great. Thank you for the excellent video.

I'm so glad to hear that, yes sometimes fusing interfacing may shrink the fabric (depending on the quality), maybe you can pre-shrink your fabric by steam-ironing it before cutting :) for future reference .

hello! sorry to bother you with this a year later 😅 absolute begginer here: why not to use the sewing machine to attach the inside zipper pocket? why not, for example, use zig zag stitching at least for the sides? would that be risky for the needle (because of too much fabric/ the metal zipper)? Is it possible to: 1) Machine sew the accordion-fold side panels to the wallet 2) Add zipper tabs to the ends of the main zipper for a neater start/stop and has anyone sewn the inside zippered pocket to the bottom of the bag by machine and omitted the accordion fold panels? This way the wallet will open flat.
I am definitely going to make this wallet. I need a new one since my old one is falling apart. Can you use vinyl for the exterior? Because of you I have invested in a walking foot for my older Janome I hope it will make a difference. Thanks
hi, i haven't tried it personally so i couldn't really advise you on that, i do think though...it'd be very bulky with vinyl and... (depending on your skill level), may be quite challenging to do the assembling.
