I just wanted to put a remark on 9:33 (zipper panel), if you use print fabric (with right side and the wrong side), after you sew the lining panel, when you open the zipper, the wrong side will show inside the zipper pocket, I had to compromise this to minimize the bulk. If that bothers you, you may use solid fabric (with no right side or wrong side; or add an extra layer of lining, face the right side to the wrong side of the zipper panel, baste stitch, and then sew the second lining as instructed) Download the pattern bit.ly/335yrfk Time Stamps Intro 00:00 Preparing the fabric 01:29 Wallet Exterior 01:38 Card Pocket 02:17 Zipper pocket 06:01 Assembling the wallet interior 10:10 Button Flap 12:58 Assembling the wallet 15:10 Closing 18:20
I did it! I am very happy with my new wallet. It is much less bulky than my old one and it is pretty (flowered fabric). I decided to do it with two card pockets and leave out the zipper pocket, as I don't use cash very often and there is no need to weigh down my every day wallet with coins. I am going to make a separate little change purse out of the same fabric and keep that in my purse alongside the wallet. You are very clear in your instructions and you have a lovely, soft voice that is a pleasure to listen to.
I'm pretty new to sewing in general, and I sure did struggle with some parts of this wallet, but I finished it in just a few hours and it's totally functional and my daughter loves it ❤️
I made a wallet with your design. I modified it a little bit, leaving out the zipper. Thank you for your incredibly detailed directions and pdf file. It was a joy to make my wallet.
Hello, I'm from Belgium and I just achieved your tutorial! It was really great to do, so well explained and filmed! And last but not least, you also wrote the measurements in centimeters, what a time saving for those whose use that measure system :-) Thank you!
So glad to hear that, I recently started including the cm measurements to make it easier for metric users, and will continue to do so for future uploads. Thanks!!
Hi - I am at the point of having just placed the tabs on the end of the zip. Does this not make the opening - which is now 3" with the tabs added - very small to get coins out of? I don't want to go any further and cut the excess zip off in case I have done something wrong? Thank you. Update: It's ok - I just carried on - it's fine
I love your videos. I made this one, but changed it up a little. I needed a card holder for gift cards. I made 2 of the card slot sections and left out the part for holding the cash.
I LOVE your tutorial! I'm an intermediate beginner and have only sewed some zip pouches so far, but you put so much step-by-step detail in this tutorial that it was possible for me to complete this project. It's not perfect, but considering this is the first time doing this, I did great! Thank you!
I love this pattern! And thank you for the easy to understand instructions. I’ve made several, some with 2 sided card holders. Tip: If you cut out all of the pieces at the start, label them.
Thank you for providing the instructions and the pattern measurements at no cost. I am going to make one now as watch your video and follow the instructions that I printed. I'll comment once I'm finished.
I’ve been looking for a wallet this size and couldn’t find one. Your tutorial was so clear and easy for me to follow that I decided to try to make one. I love it! I just finished my second wallet. It is for my nephew. Instead of the coin pocket I put a second card pocket in his.
🖐🏼🖐🏼 Hello! New subbie here. 😊😊 Thanks for the video! I'm still a novice when it comes to sewing and you made sewing A WALLET super simple and easy to follow! 🙏🏼🙏🏼 I'm more excited to try to sew my own now!
I can’t wait to try this one too!! Your projects are always amazing and your instructions are always so easy to follow and fun that any project I have make 5 or more of them! Lots of blessings from Arizona!🌸💝
Can I skip the interfacing if I'm using denim? Also I really like that you properly finished the zipper and button. Too many tutorials just kinda glue stuff in
Very easy to follow wallet, but I had a hard time with the Topstitching around the wallet at the end, so I just didn't do it. Too much thickness even when I put a Denim needle on, and raised the knob on my Juki 18 machine...It came out beautifully, and it's for my grandsons teacher. I think she will really like it. Thank you Yoan!
You are a lifesaver tonight! Long story, but I needed a small wallet pattern for my daughter's birthday. None of the designers I normally buy from had anything I was interested in, so I was trolling UA-cam for videos of wallets, hoping to find one I could buy. And this is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so very much! You are awesome!
i absolutely loved your tutorial.... im going to make one for my self for sure... i dont like leather wallet for how bulky they are so after my mom bought a sewing machine even though i dont know anything about sewing i made a fabric wallet... it was meh but it feels more comfortable than my leather one.. but it didnt have much feature.... but your design has everything i need, its perfect... you made it look easy though, lets see how many things i manage to mess up 😅

I made this 2 years ago and it's still holding up! I love it so much that I've made 4 more for others, this is my go-to diy gift that looks sooooo expensive and it's so customizable 😭🙏🏻 may the sewing gods infinitely bless this woman
Thank you, my walking foot came with my machine, (Juki brand), you may try looking for the one that's manufactured by the sewing machine brand that you use (I assume it might be better in quality, although not always)
I’m a newbie! Your tutorial is so good! I’m wondering what kind of presser foot are you using? Also does anyone have any tips about keeping your fabric under the foot?! Mine always seems to shimmy out from under the foot! Lol TIA!
Thanks Chrystal, I use "walking foot" pretty much most of the time, it makes my fabric more stable, also great to sew multiple layers, and around bulky area :)
I bought an insect patterned fabric ages ago to make something for my insect-crazy friend. I made a backpack, but I have plenty of fabric left over for another project. I have been searching for a good tutorial on wallets and this one is brilliant. A matching wallet will complete the Xmas gift :)

Adorable 🥰 I made a few they are so classic ! 😊
very clear instruction. TQ for the free pdf pattern. cant wait to try to sew it soon

I made it! I wish you put cut out 3 of exterior because I always cut my fabric beforehand...I will be making more🙂

Can’t find thr PDF. My sister and I have made so many of your tutorials. We love them.
For me being a hands on and visual learner it didn’t make sense to complete the project with different material?
Exterior panel is the same size as the final panel should the directions say cut 2?
I would rather have cards on both sides with no zipper.
Hi! Will it work if you do not have interfacing?
Sew cute. Thanks for sharing
