Best Golf Course in Destin, FL - Windswept Dunes Golf Club - Close to Panama City Beach and 30A

What is the best golf course close to Destin, Panama City, and 30A in Florida? For my money, Windswept Dunes is the best public course in the Panhandle of Florida. Are there other great courses in the Destin, Panama City, 30A area? Absolutely. But most of those courses are very similar, while Windswept Dunes brings something different to the table.
Most Panhandle courses are very flat and incorporate a lot of water, but they don't usually provide the links style that one would imagine being so close to the water. Also, they very best courses in the area are private, leaving the other courses very crowded, especially in the summer. Windswept Dunes provides a great golf experience without the huge crowds of golfers scrambling for a tee time.
