Coach, I understand where you’re coming from. I know you are trying to protect peoples’ mental health and giving people a clean slate. BUT, I have to disagree. The past matters for women. It’s the only track record we, as men, have of a woman’s decision making. I had a 15 year friendship, 10 year romantic relationship, and two year marriage end because I didn’t know her past. I never went through her phone until I found out she was cheating. I firmly believe that your sins will find you out, and the only way to openly and honestly deal with past mistakes is to lay them out on the table and expose them to sunlight. IF I ever seriously date again, then it is a MUST that we go through each others’ phones. Not to be controlling, but to confront issues head on.
