This convincing text gives the reason why we should be reading the Septuagint as our “official” Old Testament text. Every Protestant should read ‘When God spoke Greek’. The Orthodox Church (OC) morning rightfully does so.! This gives the OC an authority in it’s use in the Church and the Ecumenical Councils authority way beyond that which many are prepared to give it.

What got me intrigued about the LXX's role in the NT initially was Matt 21:14-16 when Jesus bypasses the MT's version of Ps 8:2 in favor of the LXX's. In fact, the MT's version of "ordaining strength" doesn't help much if at all to answer Jesus's enemies. The perfecting of praise appears to mean the children's praise of Jesus as the Son of David is the praise's perfection, or its completion, that praise belongs to the person of Jesus Christ.

Who is on Dr. Law's t-shirt? Is it Dr. Dre?
